GoogleThe team at Carter Duthie have just sold my parents' house in Higher Denham for me and my sister. I am an estate agent and I could have sold the house for nothing through the company I work for but I believe you have to put your money where your mouth is so we employed Adrian and his team. They were responsive to all my questions, answered emails out of hours (I rarely do that!) and gave me prompt feedback on viewings. The reason you use a proper agent rather than some useless online team is the sales progression. Decent sales progression makes the difference between holding a sale together and losing it. They're not perfect, none of us is, but they're good agents, they know what they're doing and I would use them again. You can't beat a family business for personal service.

GoogleTruly terrible agency. No impartiality for tenants or professionalism whatsoever, you can see this with their review responses. When we had the DPS involved the landlord AND agent were deemed to have the following faults against them:
Comments from the DPS such as "the property was cleaned to a good standard by the tenant" , "the property was not cleaned to a professional standard at the start of the tenancy by the landlord" attempting to claim for "betterment" which is against the law, "in view of lack of evidence from the agent I make no award for loss of rent" "I have not received any evidence that additional works were carried out by the landlord" again, multiple areas, lies and failings for your management of a property and the landlords greed to try and extract cash from a family.
Adrian, you haven't 'won' as you claim we got more than half our deposit back. There is now a full review of your agency that has been filed by myself in regards to your lack of professionalism against a code of conduct that all estate agents need to follow. Tenants and landlords beware. You have removed your libelous and slanderous comments previously but I have captured those as evidence fear not.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review…the occasional 1 star review helps demonstrate the authenticity of the other comments that are overwhelmingly positive.
You will however excuse me if I do not take your comments too seriously. You admitted to lying on your application process to secure the property and as tenants you have lied on numerous occasions subsequently.
As far as my landlords are concerned, they rightly perused a claim against yourselves as the property was returned damaged, unclean and with missing items , They or we do not claim to have “won” , they just sought recompense for the dilapidations. The landlord did not claim the full amount of your deposit and was happy for the DPS to return the undisputed part to you. You argued that no amount should be deducted and the DPS found against you and substantially in favour of the landlord .Having tried to get away with multiple breaches to your contract the DPS awarded over half of the landlord’s claim to them.
As far as your boyfriend’s behaviour is concerned, I am more than happy to repeat the question as to whether he is still verbally abusing and shouting at 19 year girls? A cowardly bully who would not speak to me over the phone but happy to mouth off in front of a junior member of my staff. (and in front of independent witnesses as well).

GoogleRented a property through Carter Duthie for 8 months. Dealt primarily with Yvonne (who was lovely and a credit to their team). Always paid my rent 20 days in advance. No issues there. When I left the property, I made the choice to leave some belongings that were near enough new (clothes rail, cutlery, and crockery) to help whoever was moving in next (I know how hard it can be to get started!). Adrian emailed me after the move out inspection and charged me £50 for leaving the items there. I appreciate the terms, but I did find this a bit distasteful and 'money grabbing' when we could have left on good terms and I'd have recommended them to others. Overall a good experience, but didn't like the way it ended.

GoogleAvoid this absolutely dreadful estate agent at all costs
They managed to steal £600 from our deposit by claiming for fake damages and costs
Luckily they couldn't steal the full amount as the DPS protected us from these scammers
They often they turned up unannounced and even tried to force entry.
We have a vulnerable toddler with health issues and they assured us viewings would be done with masks, but then ignored and carried on without masks.
My pregnant partner was shouted at by Adrian on the phone.
He loves to send abusive, threatening emails also.
Look forward to reporting you to the property ombudsman with all the evidence you have supplied us with.

Bitter Loser posts Abusive and Libelous Review
You left the flat dilapidated, dirty and with missing items. You breached the terms of your tenancy.
You agreed to accept the arbitration of the DPS regarding the deposit and you lost.
In life there are winners and losers and, on this occasion, you are a loser.
Time to move on methinks.
For the avoidance of doubt the DPS Arbitrator found the following:
In respect of General Cleaning: “I consider the tenant breached their obligations and the letting agent suffered a loss”
In respect of Carpets: “I consider that the cleanliness of the carpets in the lounge and bedroom have deteriorated during the course of the tenancy, the tenant breached their obligations and the letting agent suffered a loss”
In respect of Damage/Redecoration: “ I find it excessive to fair wear and tear. Therefore I find the letting agents claim to be justified and the tenant should be liable for the damage”
In respect of Missing Items: “On balance I find that the tenant breached their obligations and the letting agent suffered a loss”
