I use them to manage my property for renting.Poor service. Tenants complain that it takes weeks to get a response. I don't receive communication, sometimes for 6 months on urgent matters.Neighbors file complaints about the property and Stirling don't resolve issues which leaves everyone unhappy.Avoid this company.Change from Townends to Stirling hasn't made a difference.

TrustpilotIf you need water, avoid Stirling
This agency has left me without hot water or any water pressure at all for nearly 4 weeks now and have refused any kind of compensation or an update regarding a solution. The property is uninhabitable.

GoogleI phoned Townends on Saturday morning to make an appointment to view a flat in Melfort Road, CR7, on behalf of two young friends (a professional couple; ideal tenants). No appointment was available at the weekend so I accepted an appointment for 16:15 this afternoon. I confirmed the appointment by phone early this afternoon, and was given the address. Townends put my mobile phone number and email address on file. Having driven for over an hour to reach the property, there was no answer at the door, and no agent present. At 16:15, standing outside the property, I phoned Townends' office in Thornton Heath. The phone was answered by the young man I was expecting to meet at the property, who explained that there were to be no appointments at that property today. My phone and email show no evidence of any attempt to contact me to cancel the appointment. I shall explain the position to my friends, and recommend that they should have regard to the unreliability of the letting agents when deciding whether to rent the property.

Very impressed with response to boiler breaking down just before Christmas. Arran Southern was extremely responsive and arranged for engineers to attend asap. He was very attentive to the requirements and the firm selected was also very professional. Arran also checked on progress and we were very happy with the support provided.

He is polite, sharp and really understood what we wanted and helped us to get this potentially quite stressful process done with ease.As is often the case there were unavoidable delays and hassles related to our chain and searches etc, but Liam dealt with all of this very well and despite being in a very long chain, we have now sold and brought our new place without any sleepless nights.Well done stirling ackroyd. TrustpilotTerrible Experience, Will never use again
Absolutely terrible service for tenants, avoid using Stirling Ackroyd completely if you can, their tenancy contracts are made to benefit/safeguard landlords and themselves and exploit tenants. We had a terrible experience dealing with them, the nightmare stories you hear about estate/letting agents came true in this case for us. Viewed a flat with them, made the offer, got accepted a month in advance of move in date, made the payments they asked for and then no word from them for 3/4 weeks with us chasing to understand whats going on. We were told they have a queue of processing contracts based on priority. Then 1 week before the actual proposed move in date after an email demanding a response they come back to us with a draft contract heavily in favour of the landlord which we disputed and ask for a compromise and were told that nothing will be changed and that if we dont agree to their terms we can "forget about our deposit". These guys are one of the worse type of agents we have come across so far in our experience. They used a delaying tactic to force us into signing a contract, we will never be using them again and will strongly encourage all friends and family to avoid them like the plague.
