I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with this team. They represented me as a landlord for over 10 years and throughout this time I found them to be consistently reliable, responsive and trustworthy. They supported me throughout the pandemic and for the 5 year period in which I was living abroad. I have worked with many estate agents over the years but the Bishop Auckland Hunters team is in a different league. Ella is an exceptional director and was personally involved with the management of my properties. She also gave me advice and support in buying property in the area. Her staff are personable, organised and efficient. It was my privilege to be their client for so many years.

I recently sold 2 properties with Hunters Bishop Auckland, a small ex rental and a larger family home. Both properties were managed with equal importance. Adam was very knowledgeable about the local property market and provided clear and concise information and advice on selling my properties. The office staff provided a stress-free process, by liaising with solicitors, agents and purchasers involved within the chain on my behalf and I was kept informed throughout the whole process with clear and concise communication. This was helped by all staff in the office being up to date with the progress of the sale rather than having just one ‘case handler’. I would highly recommend the team at Hunters for a smooth and successful transaction.

I have been involved with Hunters for the last year to purchase a property and to sell a property. My main contact was with Ella however I have also been introduced to other members of the team for various elements of the purchase and sale. I can honestly say that the team are extremely professional and helpful. Of many positives, one that particularly stands out is the internal communication. Information is provided accurately and is always up to date. Until now I had no idea just how much goes on behind the scenes in this industry and was taken aback at the amount of work that is required i.e communicating, negotiating, passing on important information to all parties including solicitors. I went to view a property in rush park as I’m looking to move up to the area from down in Hertfordshire 4 hours away, I travelled up to view this property after having 2 phone calls that day to confirm I was still coming, I arrived early and waited outside the property after 5/10 minutes after the appointment time I decided to nock on the door where a women from hunters answered and very rudely told me to wait outside and slammed the door in my face no apology for them over running or me having to wait or even a friendly smile, also it is 1 degrees and freezing cold, All she had to say was hi sorry wev overrun do you mind waiting 5 minutes and il be with you but no I travelled 4 hours to have a door slammed in my face and told wait outside

Even going above and beyond service to open the shop late one evening to get us our key when we were locked out of our home. . Awful customer service

I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

From valuation to completion, they handled everything with such professionalism and friendliness that it has made the whole house-selling process so much easier for us. They sold our property within 2 weeks of it being listed, and have been so clear and informative throughout - we couldn't have asked for better communication from Adam, Ella and all other staff that we've had contact with. 1 bed property Sparks Close, Dagenham, RM8 - Landlord and hunters agent where complicit in illegal procedures regarding discrimination. We went through all the paper work and wasted 2 weeks till they call me and tell me the Landlord dont want a baby in the property. Don't trust them slow untrust worthy. And definitely dont rent the sparks close 1 bed property, Landlord seems like a handful save your self

My experience selling a property in the UK with this agent was extremely frustrating. For over four months, they delayed the transaction. Despite my constant follow-ups, they kept giving me excuse after excuse, like mortgage problems or minor issues, saying it would happen next week. Eventually, I told them I would pull out and sell to another buyer, but Matthew insisted I still had to pay. I also want to warn people about this company, be very cautious, because in the contract, they include terms that are unfavorable to the client. Once you sign, they do very little to follow up, and you can’t even be sure if the buyer will complete the deal. Their main priority is just getting you to sign, and regardless of whether the sale happens, they still take your money. And when I tried to back out, Matthew actually threatened me, saying that if I didn’t pay, they would escalate it to other departments. I feel this is a form of intimidation.”

Robot refused to give me a viewing

Awful experience trying to arrange a viewing. Spent yonks on the phone with a robot. It asked me unnecessary questions and misheard things; then had to reconfirm everything. Eventually it was happy. I hung up and it started again this time by text. In the end it refused to let me have a viewing unless I told them my spending budget - which I wasn't prepared to do. Do not sell your property through these idiots.

Disappointed, we learned our house purchase had fallen through at the point of us being ready to exchange on our property. We found out that the office had known about it and left it to the agent, who had been looking after us, to tell us after she came back from annual leave! We never got a reason for the purchase to fall through and they even tried delaying us putting an offer in on another property. Luckily this was with another agent and we trusted our gut as the trust with Hunters had gone. 7 weeks later we were in our new home. Felt let down and disappointed with Hunters. This was our first and last time dealing with them.

lettings fees are very high

For lettings their fees are very expensive. First 3 months of my 450 rent studio flat they took and I did not get anything. When tenant leaves another month will be gone as inventory check is 180 and cleaning in 250 and this is for a studio flat. If i want to cancel the contract i have to pay 900. Stay away.

I have only great things to say about Hunters Middleton branch! From the very first phone call right up to exchanging contacts They have been beyond brilliant.
