TrustpilotTypical brillant sales shoddy aftercare
Our house is beautiful, I really love the property. However, the aftercare is appalling. I first raised an issue in January, I had to chase this for 6 months before anyone came out to assess the issue. I am still waiting on this to be booked in to be rectified, despite numerous chases. Unless I contact to query what is happening, I will not hear anything back. After first reporting in January, I did not hear anything till April when I chased. It is clear that once the sale has gone through you are no longer priority. I saw another review regarding the paint and can also confirm the quality of the paint throughout is shocking, you just so much have to touch the walls and the paint comes off. Here's to hoping after this review my issue may be resolved? Not holding out though.

TrustpilotFastenings ( cupboard )
I love the house, but unfortunately, when a complaint was made about the cupboard, the lady said that it was definitely my fault that the cupboard almost broke off the wall . I added a video that the fastenings in the wall were not made correctly, since then I have not received any more answers, I am disappointed with the customer service after buying a house. I can ADD ONLY THAT I HAVE SMALL KID AT HOME , SO WHERE IS THE SAFETY !!!!!!!!!

TrustpilotNew Home Owner at Mill Grove
I moved into my new home in the middle of May 2021 at Mill Grove after a relatively painless process, in the main, thanks to the Hopkins on-site representative Jacqui Spicer. The house was immaculately presented, with quality fittings throughout and beautifully decorated. I’ve looked at several Hopkins developments, all of which seem to get a nice variety of houses in interesting and mixed layouts. Jason, the site agent has been very helpful in his advice and help to get the best out of the property.

TrustpilotHopkins have been very helpful with…additions to our new home
Hopkins have been very helpful with minor changes we have required to the fence and pathway. Also adding an extra gate to the fencing. Our sales person Lavinia has been so helpful with any issues or queries.

TrustpilotAppalling Hopkins Homes customer care.
Appalling customer care post purchase. Trying to get knocking water pipes resolved on £300k new build at Butterfield Meadow in Hunstanton. Issue first identified in September 2020. Two visits by a Hopkins appointed plumber to attempt to rectify, pipes still knocking at start of May 2021. Two months since last plumber visit so chased up with customer care to request an action plan by a given date. Told no further attempts at fixing would be made as we were abusing the taps by turning them on to fast. Unbelievable response. Given the choice again with other plumbing issues we have had we would never buy another Hopkins home.

TrustpilotWithout a doubt the worst company i…
Without a doubt the worst company i have ever dealt with. Not sure if they are incredibly disorganised or deliberately awkward to avoid having to do remedial work. Some of their houses are OK, but if you have problems prepare to fight for everything and wait months to get the simplest of jobs completed. Customer care is far from caring! In the past Hopkins Homes were good builders but in my opinion the are now run by accountants and are more concerned with building large quantities whatever it takes so they get their bonus. We bought from plan - worst mistake of my life. They knew it was sold so didn't care about the quality. Interestingly this year there are so many good reviews for Hopkins, sometimes 3 or 4 a day and on consecutive days. Look back to 2020 reviews and the balance of good / bad is considerably different, and there are far fewer each day. Some people might find this rather suspicious!

TrustpilotExceptional Service
We purchased our Hopkins Homes completely off plan and the entire process until we moved in went smoothly and without any issue which I'm sure was mostly down to the exceptional service we received from Sharon Stone and site managers at St James' Park, Ely. We have now been here a year and although the site is still being built all site staff are polite and courteous of the residents. The customer service team are quick to reply and resolve any snagging issues we have. We would have no hesitation in recommending buy a new home with Hopkins Homes.

TrustpilotThanks to Sharon and Hopkins onsite team
Sharon, our Hopkins sales agent, was very helpful, courteous, and thoughtful, even as we were overseas for the entire search, sales, documentation, and closing process. She was also very helpful in providing information on utilities and other move-in issues. We very much appreciate her professionalism and thoroughness. Several issues remained after completion which, once were were in a safe window during the pandemic period, were resolved by a very attentive on site manager during the summer. We are happy with our new Hopkins home.

TrustpilotRapidly downhill
The initial purchase of the house went well, we were kept informed every step of the way, and HH did what they could to keep everything running smoothly. The problems started when we actually got into the house. Problems included:- Garden gate left without slide bolt- Kitchen shelves without pegs- Poor paintwork- Incorrectly wired/labelled fuse boxes- Incorrectly wired/labelled plug sockets- Incorrectly wired network sockets- Electric heater not connected- Washing machine waste pipe not secured- Windows installed incorrectly, causing draughts- Bathroom sink installed incorrectly, causing water to pool- Leak from bathroom sink, damaging flooring- Cracked bathroom tiles- Waste pipe not glued, leading to waste leaking onto the ceiling belowI have lived in this house now for 15 months, and not all the issues have been rectified... in fact, we are given a date of February 2021 for everything to be done! The so-called 'customer care' department will do everything possible to fob you off, and then blame their contractors for not getting in contact, when in fact it is HH's team that have been remiss.Edit: March 2021 further issues- Poor quality kitchen cabinets- Leak from bathroom piping causing damage to flooring, and ceiling below- Car port wood panelling showing signs of water damage

TrustpilotCarol and Adam-Sandpipers
Carol and Adam-Sandpipers, Aldringham.Carol in the sales office was brilliant, she gave us the confidence in the whole process, was supportive in the very difficult sale of our old house and gave us practical advice at all stages of the process. As well as her professionalism, she is friendly, always greets you with a smile and has a great sense of humour (I can't fail not to mention her excellent counselling skills when it looked as if our house sale was not going to happen on several occasions!!)I have to also mention Adam the site manager and his team, who have been contantly helpful, friendly and have provided support in us completing the DIY garden project. The minor problems with the house have been dealt with quickly and professionally by his team.

Shaun Tate the sales advisor at Hopkins Homes Sprowston he is the most helpful and understanding sales person we could have wished for, don’t know what we would have done without his expertise sales knowledge, and he has a very pleasant personality to go with it. Very helpful right from the start of property buying prices to the completion of our property at St. George’s Place. Hopkins Homes should be delighted to have him as a salesperson.Malcolm & Val Bennett.

TrustpilotPoor workmanship
We've been in Hopkins home just over 3 1/2 years. Typical snags which were dealt with. Promised rotovated rear garden - received builders rubble and sand nothing else. Promised a landscaped front garden - poor quality grass planted over rubble and sand yet again - no wonder the grass failed and we have spent considerable amounts of money making good. However the latest issue is the worst. Problems with heating vessels "popping" around the close and flooding homes. Contacted by Hopkins to allow someone to "inspect our vessel for free". Turned up and said to be honest I'm replacing vessel & pipework. Turns out it was plumbed up incorrectly - I would urge anyone buying to check their pack information & manufacturers recommendations for fitting. Clearly you cant rely on the builder!

I cannot express how awful this company is. We were very interested in one of their new builds at the Aldringham site and they totally led us up the garden path. You cannot trust a word they say and they will lie through there teeth to get a sale. They do not care about the customer. The only thing they care about is money! I’m so glad we didn’t buy one of there homes in the end which were supposed to be better quality as they were actually Hopkins & Moore. I took my dad who is a builder and my husband who is a painter and decorator to view the house. They spotted many faults and overall felt the build quality was very poor. Please save yourself the stress from this company and buy another house.

TrustpilotExcellent customer service!
From first contact, the sales office has been friendly, efficient and constructive. When we visited the first site, it became clear that the houses available were not suitable for our needs. However, the consultant listened to what we were looking for and suggested we visit a nearby site, where we found out perfect house. Since then, every aspect of the purchase has been without fault, and the consultant has been knowledgeable, reassuring and proactive in dealing with our estate agent and solicitors. I couldn't have asked for better service to date.

TrustpilotRIVER REACH- Mistley- AVOID AT ALL COSTS
RIVER REACH- Mistley. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Absolutely terrible company. I moved into one of their properties 16 months ago and issues are still outstanding. They don't answer their phone lines and ignore your emails after their initial response. The majority of residents on the estate have had or are still having issues. Do not move into a house at River Reach- terrible staff and multiple outstanding issues.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Jo at Kingley Grove! So helpful and patient with us, so much knowledge about the homes! Not the experience we have had elsewhere on our journey to find a new home…..such a shame that they don’t have anything that’s suitable for us at the moment..we can only hope that we end up dealing with someone as wonderful as Jo again when we do find our new home

TrustpilotAvoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. When we brought our property Hopkins homes advertised amenities a community hub a family public house. 2 years on nothing. If I didn’t have a car I’d have an hours round trip to shop. The finish on my property is of a poor quality Coving joints visible Flooring has gaps throughout my hallwayI’ve had issues with water leaking through double doors and windowsScratches all over my bedroom windowHardly a coat or paint on the walls Skirting in my en suite not squareKitchen cupboard doors fitted wonky The other kitchen drawer hits the opposite drawer when opening Mastic work around the door frames poorly done.I’ve been offered for all these issues to be done but I don’t want them in my home. Making a mess. Correcting mistakes that shouldn’t of been made in the first place. The issue I have is the kitchen fitter has looked at the wonky door that’s been fitted and has thought ‘that will do’ no it won’t it’s my home! Same applies for the skirting in my en suite it’s visible it’s in correct is poor workmanship! I’ve sent a formal complaint and asked for the CEO the view my issues but apparently this isn’t possible as the “customer care team” deal with it which hasn’t been successful as of yet. This has been going on now for the last 4 months. I’ve been here 18 months and have just received a letter from Hopkins homes solicitors advising all owner in the apartments seek legal advice as Hopkins homes are now selling the freehold. Lesson learnt The hard way I’m afraid.

TrustpilotWe’re no longer warped and twisted!
We were initially very disappointed with Hopkins’s stance regarding our warped (green oak) mantlepiece. Following discussions with their new customer service manager a compromise was found that suited both parties. Hopkins Homes sent out 2 fitters yesterday to remove the old beam and install a beam that we had sourced. Both guys were hard working, polite and cheerful (despite the heatwave), carrying out an excellent job and vacuuming up afterwards. Delighted!

TrustpilotA positive experience….
My husband and I are in the early stages of buying a Hopkins home. We are very impressed with the quality of the houses and surroundings plus the professional and friendly approach of the sales staff, in this case, Mark. Good communication is key, which is recognised by Mark who provides the correct information and answers questions competently and readily. We are looking forward to the next stage in our lives in such a lovely home.

TrustpilotTruly awful customer service
The house and development look visual very nice, we love the house design, style and plot. However, their sales tactics and customer service is beyond awful. 15 months on from moving in we are still awaiting fixes to our property. We have had no ensuite flooring due to this waiting and not even a gesture of goodwill to apologise. You have to constantly email/call/carrier pigeon to get any kind of response and they make no apology for this. In fact they treat you as a annoyance, not a customer who has spent hundreds of thousands of pounds with them. The positives are they do include some good features such as a lovely fireplace and decent cooker. However, they clearly cut corners to save money and the flooring issue we have could have been solved prior to us moving in.Overall, nice looking house and lovely development however the attention to detail, finishing touches and quality could be much better. Customer service is some of the worst i have ever experienced. They simply do not care. Given you expect to have some issues with a new build and they do all they can to avoid rectifying these issues, i would avoid them.
