Durden & Hunt Colchester reviews

Was shown a house yesterday by Anya Williamson of Colchester agents Durden & Hunt. Although the house was not for me, a HUGE thanks to Anya for her initiative prior to the viewing. She called me in advance to find out if I needed parking permit! A relative newbie to the property business, this young woman scored a first here for me, no agent has ever demonstrated such forethought towards me EVER! Usually, the viewer is just another name on a list during a day’s work. Not so for Anya. Durden & Hunt need to look out for this lady otherwise she could be headhunted out to an agency who values people who use their initiative.

It was such a pleasant experience we had with Durden & Hunt and their lovely agent Anya. As soon as we mentioned what exactly we’re looking for she came up with a beautiful place which was almost perfect for us. She was able to offer a viewing the very next day which was very quick for us to have a look and decide. She showed me the place, was able to explain the features very well and she answered all the questions I had. Eventually we didn’t end up renting the place however I was very satisfied with this process as they were quite helpful and considerate. I would definitely recommend Durden & Hunt and huge thanks to Anya.

Patrick here!!! Just wanted to say I’ve booked my viewing with Anya. She’s knows her stuff and really warm spirit and was very patient with me during the process. On the date of collecting the keys I was running late and stuck in traffic but she waited for me after closing hours at the office to ensure that I collected my keys and if there’s anything else I needed. She made the process really smooth and was quick with her responses/ interaction. Thanks Anya!

I worked with Anya and I couldn’t recommend her and Durden & Hunt more. I understand the market is crazy and so often you feel like your needs don’t matter or even worse, the reason why you’re moving doesn’t matter - not with Anya or the Durden & Hunt team! Anya has been so kind, really understanding of my circumstances and genuinely wanting the best for me and sharing great advice. If you’re struggling to navigate this crazy market, don’t go anywhere else but here - you will be treated like a person and not a number!

Massive shoutout to Anya Williamson at Durden and Hunt!, Colchester!. She was so polite the whole way through and honestly knew her stuff inside out. No jargon, no pressure, just straight-up helpful advice when we needed it. Made everything way less stressful than we thought it’d be. If you’re looking for an estate agent who actually cares and knows the market, ask for Anya at Durden and Hunt. Can’t recommend her enough 👌

Review ~ I contacted Durden & hunt estate agents today after I saw a property I was interested in viewing on Rightmove… a wonderful estate agent named Lily answered the phone, she was extremely professional and helpful and arranged a viewing immediately for me and was with us within a matter of hours, she was extremely knowledgeable on the property and the local area, as well as upcoming changes for tenants in the rental market, it was extremely refreshing to meet such a professional well mannered and well informed estate agent, as a result of this meeting with Lily I would highly recommend this company but especially Lily .. We would like to say a massive thank you to Amanda for all the help she has provided as our Sales Progressor. Amanda took on the sale of our property after a couple of months after an agent left and quickly got up to speed with the latest progress. Her communication with us was clear, concise and always speedy! It was clear Amanda was always working in our best interest. Another thank you to Rich at the Colchester branch for being super friendly at the key drop off. Would highly recommend this agent.

I’d like to say a big thank you to Alex Durden, Amanda, Anya and Lilly who sold our Colchester house in an exceptionally difficult period. A volatile market, and a number of ups and downs along the way made me think about giving up on the whole process. However, they managed to get the whole process back on track and we finally signed contracts yesterday. Would also add that the use of a professional photographer makes all the difference, the D&H photos of our house were exceptional and finally showed our house off to its full potential.

Our selling experience with Durden & Hunt was superb from start to finish. From the moment we agreed to sell with them, we were blown away by their professionalism and commitment. The photographs were exemplary, and we were consistently kept in the loop throughout the process, receiving regular feedback from the many viewings they had secured for our property. Once we had accepted an offer, the sales progressor Amanda was supportive, proactive and reassuring without ever being pushy, working hard to ensure the sale went through as smoothly as possible. Even when another estate agent approached us while our property was on the market, we had complete confidence in Durden & Hunt and trusted them to get the job done, and they absolutely did! A house on the same street was being marketed by the other agent, yet after five months, the vendors have since changed agents. This only reinforced our confidence that we had made the right choice. We would wholeheartedly recommend Durden & Hunt to anyone looking to sell their property. Their professionalism, communication and dedication made the whole experience a positive one.

I had an amazing experience with Durden & Hunt when looking for a property to let. The initial telephone conversation with Anya was very warm and friendly and she was able to throughly answer all the questions I had regarding the property. I also had a wonderful experience at the viewing - she took her time, showed me a range of apartment options and in-unit features so I could really get a feel and decide which apartment was the right fit for me. I was looking to move in as soon as possible and Samantha was amazing at getting the admin/referencing completed so quickly that I was able to move in less than a week! She has also been very attentive in keeping me updated during the process of my move and always responded promptly to any questions I had along the way. Thank you to you both for being so lovely and a bonus for also providing knowledge of the area I moved into which really put me at ease before my move. :)

Hi James, Hope you are well. I just wanted to take a moment to share some feedback about Ciara and the exceptional support she has given us throughout the sale of my mum’s property. From day one, she has been proactive, responsive, and incredibly thoughtful - consistently going above and beyond what we would normally expect. Nothing has ever felt like too much trouble, and she’s made what could have been a stressful process feel calm and well-managed. More recently, she truly went the extra mile by notifying me of a shower leak at the property and by staying until it was safely contained. That level of care, ownership, and personal responsibility really stood out to us and made a huge difference. Ciara is a shining example of professionalism and customer care, and I just wanted to ensure her efforts didn’t go unnoticed. You’re very lucky to have her on your team. With thanks and appreciation, Tony Lawlor

I was looked after by the team from the onset. I can't thank Alex enough for his support in finding the most beautiful home. He was extremely helpful and such a pleasant person to talk to. Then there's Samantha who did everything else leading to my move. Samantha kept me updated, was quick with responding to my queries and I felt at ease with her friendly voice on the phone. I had a great experience with Dudren Hunt. From the moment I walked into the office until all the procedures were completed, everything went smoothly. Anya was extremely helpful, professional, and supportive throughout the whole process. She made everything clear and easy, and her friendly attitude made the experience even better. Lily was amazing!! Very presentable and knowledgable. She went out of her way to show me other apartments in the complex and explained to me the option to furnish it with an added cost. Keep it up!

The 5 stars is solely for lily beveridge who works for said company. I honestly believe if she was around 2000 years ago they would have wrote a book about her and called it the bible. She may not be able to turn water into wine or walk on water (as far as I know) but she will do everything possible to help you and make your house searching experience easy and she will answer questions you haven’t even asked yet. Well done to durden and hunt for hiring this spectacular women.
