My experience of Bairstow Eves is extremely positive, outstanding in fact and I would highly recommend Bairstow Eves to everyone! Summary information: I was a seller of a one bedroom flat in Stanway, Colchester. No chain. I used the Bairstow Eve advised conveyancing company of CountryWide. The process of selling was extremely straight forward as I opted to use the CountryWide online portal, some original documentation was required to be sent using the postal service. Queries were raised very quickly. The teams at Bairstow Eves and CountryWide are extremely professional. If I am ever buying or selling a property in future Bairstow Eves will be my main choice of estate agent. Thank you!

I hadn’t used Bairstow Eves before, but I wish I had. What a wonderful, professional and friendly team they all are, especially Louise who I dealt with on a regular basis. Not only did Louise ensure everything with the property was to my satisfaction when I first moved in but she was always available for me if I had any questions or concerns. Even when I informed Louise that I was leaving the property as I purchased a house, she gave me some very professional advice which was extremely helpful. I recently used Bairstow Eves to sell a bungalow which was a difficult one to sell due to it having had a subsidence claim. It was actually one of their estate agents who originally spotted the cracks in the wall which then led to us getting the problem remedied. Selling was quite a long process and BE showed a large number of people round. Their communication was good throughout, with phone calls and text messages to confirm all the viewings and letters confirming offers that were made. I was very happy with the level of service I received and would recommend them to anyone looking to sell.

Wish I could leave zero stars because our experience from start to finish with this company has been a total nightmare. Up until the point they received over £2000 from us to move in they were nice but after they got the money everything changed. Ignoring emails, not returning phone calls. Lying about jobs that had been done to the property. We are still owed overpaid rent from them but they continue to brush us off and ignore us. We made complaints about many things throughout the duration of our tenancy, some were recorded, most were ignored and most importantly nothing was done about anything. We ultimately paid the price for this at the end of the tenancy when they tried to take more money from our deposit. Luckily the deposit protection service intervened and disallowed most of their claims but they still managed to take money that the should never have been allowed, and to top it off we waited almost 4 months to get our deposit returned to us. Tara Reid is the worst letting agent I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with and how she still has a job is beyond me, she is a manipulative lier with zero personal skills and a rotten attitude to match. Avoid this agency at all costs.

I do not leave reviews lightly however i feel in this instance I must extend my gratitude toward the team at Bairstow Eves Lettings, Colchester. After initially speaking with Chris the manager regarding the potential of instructing Bairstow Eves I was fairly happy with my current agent however after numerous phone calls and one of my rental flats becoming available I decided to give them the opportunity to find me tenants. The great customer service and complete attention to detail I found was filtered throughout the whole team with Louise and Jack being outstanding and at their roles.They always gave me regular updates and completely took on board my stringent requirements that I require when selecting a tenant. I have one by one given each of my properties to Bairstow Eves Lettings and they now manage my entire portfolio. Worse experience ever. The landlady sold the property I was renting and BE were handling that. We woke up one day at 9 am due to noises inside the flat to discover that three members of that agency took liberty to use their keys and enter the flat without prior notice. Even we expressed our dissatisfaction and that we were not ready to receive them they insisted to continue their viewing to the flat. We went to the Borough Council and tried to complain but we were told that nothing can be done.

Tony Chapman I note all good reports are more than a year old. We have had nothing but shocking service from this agency. I speak as a tenant. We were promised the accommodation in or around the 20th, only to be told that it would now be the 30th. We were told that the premises would be fully inspected and cleaned prior to us moving in. Not the most thorough inspection I have seen, as we note that the shower does not even work, meaning we need to shut the mains off every time we are finished with a shower!! This being communicated we are now 8 days in the accommodation with the shower still the same. I will not bore you with all the other ineptness experienced with management.
