We have bought and sold via Strakers …

We have bought and sold via Strakers this year and a Strakers property was in the chain when our son bought his first house. We have also used them as lettings agents for many years now.The staff have been fantastic. We know estate agent's tend to have a rather poor reputation, but we can only comment on our own experience. The progressing team were brilliant and were often the only people (our own solicitor included!) who could tell us what was going on! And they were incredibly helpful with our son's move, even though he wasn't buying directly through Strakers.All the staff, both in lettings and sales, have only ever been professional, polite and patient. Well done Strakers of Devizes :)

**Malmesbury Branch**The worst experience I have ever had property wise!1) Always late for appointments2) communication with vendors and buyers was awful! we walked in on the previous owners daughter crying as she was taking down family photos (recently lost her mum) 3) property knowledge was poor, I believe someone fell down a well when I search them on google? luckily my experience wasn't this bad! 4) on completion day we had no plumbing even though the property was sold as habitable? they advised they would send back the previous owner as they were known by strakers director as a cracking plumber... they arrived and made everything worse which cost me an arm and a leg to fix!5) when I called the director to express my disappointment he was rude and very much showed the attitude of "we have your money now so deal with it" he then later on hung up on me as the conversation wasn't going his way! Please do you research before selling or buying in the area as my experience was awful and wouldn't want anyone else to experience what we did! I shall avoid them like the plague in future!!

The easy way to rent a property

Having been looking for a property to rent for a little while and getting no where, we found one listed with Strakers. The whole process was so simple and straight forward. The staff are wonderful and helpful to deal with they made a stressful situation more of a breeze can not recommend them highly enough especially the lettings manager Nick, brilliant service!

Very helpful staff

Although the initial selling price suggested turned out to be optimistic, we were kept fully informed throughout the entire process eg when viewers were expected and what feedback was given. Once an offer had been accepted they worked very closely with our solicitors, the purchaser and with us to ensure the sale went smoothly. Staff were efficient, often working late into the evening, and very kind. I don't think they could have done anything better.

Strakers give direct and helpful comments when valuing and are realistic about valuations. Inflated valuations are not helpful in the end. Out of the initial flush of viewings we received a good offer. Strakers liaise well with clients and buyers. They also provide an ongoing series of updates to keep clients informed about progress of the sale - a valuable source of reassurance!A friendly, professional and hard-working team.

whilst they did what i wanted and sold…

whilst they did what i wanted and sold my property there were a few things along the way that i was not informed correctly about and the `chaser` was superfluous to the operation, not adding anything to the process but i guess they are there to ensure the agents fees not for the clients benefit. on balance id use an online service if i did it again...agents are pricey for what they really offer

Hardworking & professional

Strakers were really hard working and professional right throughout the sale of our house and purchase of our new home. They quickly got us good offers and even though there were some bumps with our chain, when our house had to be remarketed, they quickly got us another buyer. At the end of the process they worked extremely hard to help the sale and purchase to go through. I’d definitely recommend them (I already have).

Disappointing

We feel we were let down by Strakers as we were not kept informed on what was going on in the chain. We were especially kept in the dark about the very bottom and their situation, which resulted in a lot of stress and anxiety. We also felt that we were continuously chasing to find out what was going on and were kept better informed by our sellers estate agents.
