I couldn't be more unhappy with the services provided to us, as tenants. We got emails threatening to revoke our right of re-entry into the building because a door, that was broken and couldn't be shut, wasn't being properly closed, gates broken since we moved in.... The door, was finally replaced and we have indeed no access back into the property once this is closed. No answer when we asked about the key. Our flat has a broken door handle since December. They said they needed to talk to the landlord. We are in march, and still waiting for them to come back to us about it, meaning the handle is been broke for two months now. It feels like we are the ones who need run around them so they can do their jobs. Terrible! Edit after the owner answer: it does not change my mind about anything I said. It’s not urgent… of course! It’s not their home. I also did send an e-mail directly to the company with my complains, which has been ignored. A public bad review though… Not good enough.

The team at F1rst Move are brilliant. They have been managing my property for a couple if years. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Steve and Kelly were incredible in organising contractors to get issues sorted quickly. As an owner living overseas, it was reassuring to know my property was being cared for.

Josh, Kelly and the team provide a first class service for landlords. Since renting my house, I’ve felt in great hands and completely at ease, knowing that I can rely on them to sort any issues that arise. Actually their service is so good that we have now switched my partners’ house over to F1rst Move to manage as well - we’ve had a poor experience from another local letting agency and it made complete sense to transfer to one that we can trust wholeheartedly. I wouldn’t use anybody else for renting my house. 11/10 service.

Most of the reviews already written here appear to be from Landlords, I would like to put something across from the perspective of a tenant. I have to say we (my wife and I) were extremely impressed with the service and communication we received from all at F1rst Move, especially Kelly. Prior to renting a property through F1rst Move we had been with 2 other letting agents in the Chippenham area - the other 2 were absolutely shocking! Without mentioning any names, one of them was part of a large chain and it was really easy to see that they didn't care about the tenants and that we were "just a number". They constantly lied to us and to the landlord about us. As can probably be expected we were a little wary when entering into a contract with F1rst Move. However our wariness was only short lived as we could not have asked for a better letting agent. We rented a property through them for just over 2 years and only moved out as we were in the fortunate position of being able to buy a home of our own. They were always on hand to help, we got the impression that nothing was too much trouble. They were even really helpful AFTER we finished with them making sure that all loose ends were tied up and an open and honest conversation about the return of our deposit (which we received in full). I will always recommend to everyone looking to rent a property to go through F1rst Move. 5 Stars!

Very bad experience with F1rst Move…

Very bad experience with F1rst Move Chippenham, they wasted my time and money, all together 16days to let me know I can't rent a property. After viewing, we started the application that was over several emails, over few days, it didn't make sense, letting manager requested information that I already provided when I booked viewing. Everything was very slow, if I emailed her today, I will get a reply next day. She missed my email, then next day she sent me a rude (threatening) email, I rang up her straight away to clarify things. They are using Goodlord, when I contacted the letting manager to ask help, she sent me back to Goodlord, I spent hours on chat with people from Goodlord, everyone telling me different things, very confusing. Anyway, after 2 weeks while I worked hard with Goodlord, to provide them everything they requested, a lot of stress, documents, etc, I realised we are very close to deadline, I contacted the letting manager via phone and email, unsuccessful, she constantly avoided me (she's not at her desk, she's doing a viewing, etc, various excuses from her colleague).In one occasion I rang up letting agent at the office, nobody picked up my call, 2 minutes later I rang up from different number, amazing, someone was available and picked up my phone call. I'm not sure if the manager has any idea about renting process or deliberately she delayed entire process. Goodlord did checking and references, a report was sent to letting manager, she decided to withdraw and close my application, despite other options that I was happy to go with. Very unprofessional! Highly recommended to stay away from F1rst Move!

I rented my last property for 5 years and F1rstmove took over from the previous agent about 3 years into my tenancy! What a difference, always contacted me back, polite and efficient! They actually do the regular check ups and maintenance when requested, I had a massive leak at one point and it was dealt with as soon as the office opened the next day. You couldn't ask for more really.

I had no issues with this estate agents through my tenancy and they were prompt with their responses to any issues I was having with the accommodation. Sadly after ending my tenancy they cheekily tried to claim £110 off my initial deposit for the LL, for a ‘professional carpet clean’. Fortunately the DPS sided with me, and saw through their misguided claims. Let this serve as a warning to others to watch out if they attempt to try it on again, and make sure you dispute it through the DPS scheme.

Have a couple of ongoing issues with my flat and they haven't been sorted. Originally emailed about the issue in September 2023 and it's still happening. They reply quick enough to my emails but the issues don't get sorted. They will say it's the landlord that has to approve the repairs etc, but it's them that has to sort and I can't leave a review for the landlord so falls to them ultimately.

We have been renting from F1rst Move for nearly 3 years and due to other circumstances have now moved area. We have used many rental companies and F1rst Move is easily (by a very long way) the best; they are professional, responsive, genuine and do what they say they are going to do. When looking for a rental in Chippenham (and Cardiff) every other letting agency we visited was very unhelpful (not exaggerating!) and in some cases rude, which is the worst sign when you need to sign a contract with a company - these companies did not care about us. F1rst Move was and is the polar opposite and were great from the offset. In our time as tenants we have only had minor issues with our house and each time they were resolved very quickly. When returning our deposit they have been true and honest (not trying to pinch any money as previous letting agents have tried with us).
