I currently have my mother’s house up for sale with Reeds Rains Chesterfield. Selling a house can be a long process and in that time it is important that information is provided on a regular basis so that informed decisions can be taken as to the best course of action. The information flow provided has been superb in recent weeks and notably Audrey provides a continual commentary regarding each viewing and the important follow up, giving me confidence that the best service possible is being provided. Also - Liam is always ready to discuss when pricing changes are needed. Very happy with the current service.

A bunch of crooks. Delayed paying my deposit back for months. I was warned by the agent who showed me the property to make sure I filled in the deposit protection scheme and others in the building also did not have their deposits returned. Reeds & Raines were forced to pay back the deposit, but this is not the behavior of a lawful decent company It should have been paid back in 10 working days but was delayed for many months. This is a very basic practice that in my experience is handled on the return of the keys. Utterly obnoxious and clearly trying to take money they have no right to AVOID. I see you have responded.... Ah yes, thank you ever so much for your response. I do so love a bit of passive-aggressive gaslighting from a multi-million-pound estate agency. You’re surprised I left a 1-star review? Truly? Are we all pretending that being five months late returning over £500 is, in your mind, excellent customer service? Is this your company standard? Would you be equally relaxed if a tenant paid rent five months late? “Ah well, he’s only 150 days behind, let’s give him a glowing reference!” No? I didn’t think so. And the pièce de résistance: you blame a “dispute with the landlord.” Very creative! Shame it’s completely false, as confirmed by the deposit resolution service. They stated, quite clearly, that no claim was made, no contact was received, and you were ordered to return the deposit within 5 working days of January 22nd. You did not. Again. So not only did you fail to return it within the legally required 10 working days, you also ignored an official directive weeks later. But please, do go on and tell me more about how you were the real victims here. Let’s be honest: you held onto my money for nearly five months with no legal right to do so, and now you’re shocked, shocked!, that someone might not consider that acceptable. .... As for the timing of the review, sorry if I didn’t write it sooner. Is it many months late? Not something you would do I suppose? I’m leaving this review now, not out of bitterness, but because it’s my civic duty to warn others that your business model seems to rely on delay, obfuscation, and indifference. There are many other reviews citing exactly the same shameful treatment. It’s almost as if this is a pattern, isn’t it? Thank you for replying and giving me the perfect opportunity to highlight your behaviour again. You’re an estate agency, and congratulations, you’ve managed to live down to every single stereotype.

I have an apology to make, I left a negative review, which was left in haste and off the back of frustrations and information that I later discovered were not the fault of Reeds Rains. I must eat humble pie as since speaking with Chloe, on a daily basis has made me realise that I should have dealt with the situation differently. Chloe has been unbelievable, she is supportive, professional and quite frankly amazing! She has updated, chased, and reassured me at every step. Moving house is stressful but she has managed to help me support my elderly mother in getting things done! Please forgive me for my initial rant, lesson learnt for me and some faith in the process. No happy at all, My partner and I had been to look at a house to rent. We made the application as others had as well. They told us if there was anything changed or something was happening they would let us know. We have been waiting 2 days to hear if any update has changed. Today I rang to see if anything has happened and they told me that the landlord had chosen someone for the place. They hadn’t even told us about it, and told me on the phone sorry for not calling. Me and my partner had been getting our hopes up as it was the perfect suitable Home as we have 2 kids! Not happy as they can’t keep you updated when they tell you they will.

I'm writing this review purely to give some recognition to Miss Amy Staniforth!! I feel as though the review should reflect the branch but this individual MAKES this branch perfect! I was with Bairstoweves before and honestly the staff depressed me every time I had trouble/needed to enquire about something with the property.
