Today, I had a 2pm appointment with the agency. I arrived at 1:50 pm and saw an agency car parked at the end of the street. I approached the driver, asked if he was from the agency coming to our home, and he confirmed the 2pm appointment. I simply told him that I was home. I waited until 2:30 pm. When I contacted the office, I was told the agent had been to the property, rang the doorbell several times, and left because nobody answered. That is simply not true. At 2pm, I went outside again and could still see the very nice agency car at the end of the street. By 2:10 pm, the car was gone. I even left work specifically for this appointment, so it's not as if I got the time wrong or made this up. I set aside time for this visit, which makes it even more frustrating to be told something that clearly did not happen. I completely understand if plans change or something unexpected comes up, but the transparency and honesty is important. Unfortunately, this experience was unacceptable, and it is the reason I am leaving a one-star review. If things start like this from the very beginning, it doesn't give me much confidence in what a long-term relationship with this kind of agency would be like. PS: The lady I spoke to on the phone was professional, understanding, and handled the conversation well, which I really appreciated. My review reflects the experience itself rather than the office staff. I would expect a much higher standard of service specially based on my experience today. Wouldn’t even let me apply for the property and even let the landlord even consider me. I offered to do rent advancement, provide a grantor and show any documents they required to prove eligibility. They refused to even entertain the idea of anyone under the age of 25 being able to apply. The member of staff refused to take the complaint when I asked for this to be put to the landlord. They mutter under their breath and swear about you under their breath when you ask for clarification. I wouldn’t trust this branch at all.

Belvoir Chester have been managing my property for nearly 10 years and I have to say that Gordon and his team in Chester have been superb all these years. They have been extremely professional and quick to respond to any complaints from tenants and any instructions from ourselves. Our property is an old Victorian terrace house which can be fraught with issues including a leaking roof, damp and sticking wooden doors. We have dealt with these issues swiftly with Gordon and Sarah's help. Void periods have been kept to the minimum and each time the property goes back to the market, it gets snapped up within a few days. Gordon is extremely experienced with identifying and trouble shooting issues and have a good range of tradesmen to provide more expert help when needed. Happy to recommend !!!

Worst rental services ever watch these rogues will do damage to property after you left and Claim damages to keep deposit. I made the mistake of not taking photos of before we left. GORDON is absolutely rudist person I ever met and and speaks down to you like your something of his shoe. sadly he's the manager so nothing will get done about him.

I have rented out my property through Belvoir Chester for the last 14 years and am extremely satisfied with their services. Whenever a tenant has left they found a replacement in less than a week, so no loss of income. The inevitable maintenance jobs required over the years have been dealt with rapidly and at a very reasonable cost. All the administrative papework has been carried out professionally and the rent always paid on time. I am now selling my property and would like to send my thanks to Gordon and his team, whom I recommend highly to anyone looking for a property management agency.

A well deserved five stars for Gordon and his team. If you want peace of mind, great communication and service, then use Belvoir in Chester. They made it easy for us to rent out our previous home without worrying about living a distance away from it. No problem was too small for them to resolve on our behalf. Gordon gives good advice about what is fair and reasonable for a tenant to expect and for a landlord to provide. I've dealt with many letting agents over the years, both as a landlady and tenant, and I can honestly say that Belvoir Chester are the most competent, friendly and attentive letting agent that I've ever dealt with. I recently used Belvoir to look for a new property to rent after spending a few very sad weeks dealing with other agencies. They showed me my ideal house within an hour of contact and moved heaven and earth to get me into my home quickly. The property itself is in excellent condition; clearly well looked after and maintained. Communication is excellent and responsive. I heartily recommend Belvoir Chester. In todays mad property world it is refreshing to be able to write a positive review about a Letting Agent. I have let my apartment in Chester with Belvoir Chester for many years now and the Manager, Gordon Rogers, has always been there when needed. He is helpful, willing to go that extra mile for landlords and tenants, always straight and above all extremely honest and reliable. I have nothing bad to say about Belvoir Chester. All staff were friendly and helpful. We got a lovely welcome pack when we first moved in. They responded to emails in good time and sorted out any issues with the property promptly. When we were moving out they were good at letting us know about viewings in advance and worked them around us. They made the whole renting process very clear and easy and I got my full deposit back! Would definitely recommend.

We had an issue with the lights which was fixed, also an issue with the roof leaking which was also fixed in a timely manner. "The agent employed a builder..."

The agent employed a builder who botched the moving of my washing machine, resulting in leakage. The builder also didn't clear his rubbish away as per our written agreement. I had to pay to sort both things out. The builder reacted hysterically when I forwarded the bill from the emergency plumber (£147). He rang up the plumber and berated him; so much so that the plumber wrote a blog post about it (http://www.plumber24hours.co.uk/plumber-blog/index.php/2012/04/18/how-to-washing-machine-hose/). The Belvoir agent named above went into blame-the-victim mode. He didn't do anything to get the builder to remove the rubbish either, even though he explicitly said he would. The agent is a deeply unsympathetic man; he is also insecure, in that he points out his office assistant's grammatical and spelling errors in front of clients. The builder was deficient in other ways, but there was no point in bringing them to the attention of the Belvoir agent, who had shown he would do nothing on my behalf. The agent took 10 percent of the builder's fee (excluding the 'off the books' (and quite possibly illegal) builder's demand for £3000) but did nothing for it. I suspect he (and the builder) saw that I am a non-confrontational person and took advantage of that fact. I have been angry and upset with him, because he did nothing for me, and shouted at me in a public environment. Now I feel genuinely sorry for him, as he is obviously in a position for which he is not suited, and subject to stresses that he cannot handle. It is all very sad. I hope this post lead to him finding a more congenial position, for his sake and those of his other clients.
