Bridgfords Wilmslow Lettings…
Bridgfords Wilmslow Lettings have recently rented one of my houses out. This was done on the first viewing and the tenant moved in within two weeks. Great service thank you Daniel and Claire. Will look forward to doing business with in future.

One star is being generous.
One star is being generous.Listen folks, this company is crooked, yet they still manage to stay within the law I was looking to rent a property. Saw a nice place and decided to act fast. Never heard of Bridgfords so no reason to suspect any hanky panky.Filled in the application which was emailed via docusign by a very friendly helpful lady (or so I thought.. Sent straight back and waited for reply.Saw no reason to read the small print.Immediately sent another set of documents "Keysafe" which actually said you should let them know of any adverse credit. (we had a default from some time ago) so we ticked the box and paid the £219 holding deposit.Long and short of it, they came back and said the rental could not go ahead and they would be keeping the holding deposit because we had not disclosed adverse credit before signing docusign, not "Keysafe".Beware folks, they make their money by taking deposits and not making it clear at what stage of the process you must declare your status.Do not deal with these people , personally, I should have read the reviews on here first, if you are reading this then it is likely you made the same mistake as me and never read the reviews . Spread the word, these people are bandits.

Scam company. Will charge you for fake cleans...
Moved into a property which was uninhabitable it was so unclean. Told by the staff member we could wait for bridgfords to organise someone or pay for it ourselves. At the end of the tenancy we cleaned the property top to bottom and were charged £150 for the oven cleaning. Turns out the cleaning company is ran and owned by a manger at Bridgfords and they didn't even do the clean. We have spoken to the new tenants and they have told us they also had to pay for the oven cleaning. Scam company and a fraudulent cleaning company all in one. Avoid at all costs. Trading standards have been informed.

We were blown away with the expertise…
We were blown away with the expertise and professionalism Sue and the staff from Bridgfords provided on the sale of my late father's home. The difference between them and our previous agent has been remarkable! We also appreciated the sensitivity shown to us during the sales process, this was a difficult time for us selling our Dad's home, and the care provided didn't go unnoticed.I will be referring anyone I know to them as they do a fantastic job!

Fees when taking the house off the market
I put my house on the market with Bridgefords six weeks ago and in that time period we have only had four viewings and we've had to chase Bridgefords for feedback. They are very poor at responding to emails and phone messages. I've noticed that a number of other houses in the area have come up for sale and sold in that time period. Mainly by one local estate agent. We've decided to swap to this estate agent and take our house off the market with Bridgefords. When I've tried to do this, it's taken me two days of emailing and ringing to get a response! Then when I finally did I was told that if I take my house off the market with Bridgefords and go to another estate agents we will be liable to pay Bridgefords fees even if the other estate agents sell the house!! None of this mentioned when we put the house up for sale with them! They also said when I entered into a contract with them this was for a minimum of 26 week's. I know this was definitely not mentioned as I've been unsure about selling and the estate agent advised me to put the house up for sale for a month and if I change my mind to just take it off the market.I wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

Worst experience ever with a letting agency!
TL/DR;So far if I could give zero stars I would give them but I will give 1 instead because some of the people working there are honestly nice. However,.... My self and my partner we started renting a house run by Bridgfords Letting Agents since last Monday 14/02/22. First, the images shown in the advert with what we actually got are two different stories, we also did our viewing online (due to working schedules restrictions) and apparently it was a MASSIVE MISTAKE because we obviously got scammed. When we moved in the house was in a state of filthy mess, the previous tenants didn't clean, the house has pilled up years of filth, dust, dirt. The otherwise advertised as ''new'' carpets had stamps and spots all over and I am waiting to see if there are also carpet beetles after finding one yesterday. We had a week to report things against the agency's inventory, which we did. Of course we reported the mess and filthiness and we were PROMISED some actions to be taken until yesterday, and in our last phone call with them they said that they are still working on our cases but it is stack between the previous tenants, landlord and a third party (which I am guessing is the deposit scheme). What we are asking is for someone to deep clean the house and get rid of the years of filth and what we get in response is that the landlord is awaiting to take the deposit back from the previous tenants to fix it? What kind of logic is this? Why are we put in the same basket with the old tenants?Time to mention that the house is also a junkyard, old forgotten devices mounted on walls, archaic light shades and a set of curtains that are reeking and are the dirtiest piece of cloth I have seen in my life. There are wires exposed, the part furnished devices I don't know when they have passed last their safety test. So the situation I am describing is this and we are asked in good willing and hope to wait for a response and not start cleaning imediately? Of course we started cleaning, because this is bordeline health and safety case, we bring with us our new furniture and we don't want to land in a house that is dirty. So I am asking, what would the agency have achieved with us waiting?Because obviously our requested has been thrown in the bin.Who tells me that we are not doing the job the agency should have done, and now they use our photographyic evidence to strip the deposit from the previous tenants?Because their photographic inventory report was lacking big time. So either they were covering the real problems so they arise later and blame them on us or the person who did the inventory is stupid. In any case, whatever they do favours the landlord, everything they do is to keep THEM safe, because their fee comes from THEM, not from two humble invidividuals who rent a property from the agency. But the hard truth, dear agency, is that YOU are the mediator and customer satisfaction comes from two different parties. You have failed to play this game when you chose one over the other. And no matter how hard I tried to keep myself from writing a review, it's been a week that I am stressing for something I shouldn't, and because I want this review to be out there for you to see that some things are serious.I am sure some people who are dealing with our case tried their best but if they were me you would have done the same and making this public. Can I ask in which redress scheme this agency belongs to so I can make an official complain to them as well?

Avoid like your life depends on it
Great experience viewing and securing the property. As soon as I signed, the problems started.

This letting agency is a disgrace.
This letting agency is a disgrace. We rented a property and upon moving in the property had clearly not been professionally cleaned as it stated, it was uninhabitable and absolutely disgusting. We had to pay £180 for someone to come out to professionally clean all the carpets, sofa and oven as they were unusable because of how filthy they were. The bed frame was smashed to bits and completely unusable, the mattress so yellow and smelled so bad we had to throw it outside. The check in inventory said everything was in 'good condition' which it was clearly not! On advise from a staff member we wrote notes on every page of our check in inventory about the details when we moved in.Upon moving out of this property they are now trying to charge £150 worth for 'cleaning' when we left the property in an improved state than when we moved in.Communication has been extremely poor and I am highly disappointed with this company, disgusting service and I will be taking them to court over the return of our deposit as it has been two months since we moved out. Do not rent from this letting agent!

Caused damage to my property.. crooks. AVOID
Please read the negative reviews and DO NOT use this estate agents. Since starting the sale process of my property with bridgfords there has been little to no communication until the last 2 weeks when I made a complaint. They erected a sign outside my home, attaching it to the brickwork without my knowledge or permission. The sign was not properly fixed to my home and it fell onto my car causing damage. Bridgfords call this a ‘natural disaster’ completely shirking any responsibility. If moving house wasn’t stressful enough I now have to submit an application to small claims court against them to recover the costs of my damaged car. There’s good reason for the volume of negative reviews for this company and I wish I had done more research before choosing bridgfords. Avoid at all costs & find a reliable and cheaper estate agent. I recommend strike, they’re the cheapest and best to deal with.

Terrible service cannot recommend them…
Terrible service cannot recommend them any less for their york branch. Terrible to deal with, no interest in helping tenants who have been locked out of their building. Had to stay with friends for several nights and they still haven’t helped us. Utterly ridiculous will be taking this complaint further and claiming rent back as this is insane. AVOID AVOID AVOID even if there are no other properties because of the housing crisis I recommend avoiding them and waiting for somewhere else half decent. I would leave 0 stars 1 is far too generous

If one could give no star.
If one could give no star.. Trust them to advertise what they cannot offer. We got a falsely advertised service.. Exaggerated pictures of the house and when we complained, we were told rent will be increase and then we moved out.. the threat continued to "release deposit to the landlord and draw a line under it".. No one reads your emails about any complaint...As my complaints were not addressed at all..Would never use them again or recommend to friends and family..

Absolute Joke!
Absolute Joke!Me and my boyfriend went for a viewing and made it very clear that we are NOT interested in a leasehold property (especially if its a house). We went to see the property to be told that it was a freehold. Everything seemed perfect so we went ahead and SOLD HALF of our assets in stocks and crypto to then be told that the Estate Agent didn't double check and the property was actually a leashold. Due to this mistake I lost a good couple of grand of profits. Check your facts especially if you know that we were NOT interested in a leasehold, we made this clear multiple of times to be ignored! A waste of time, money and energy.

Bridgeford's Estate Agents in Poynton
Bridgeford's Estate Agents in Poynton - 01/12/21 12.15pm - I phoned this agent to enquire about a property for sale in Poynton (Cheshire). The man I spoke to (may have been the manager) was extremely rude. I asked him if a particular property was still on the market and he said "almost". So I asked him if it was therefore not on the market. He stated "that's not what I said" in an abrupt and impatient tone. (it seemed that we were playing guessing games at this point). I, therefore, asked him if the said property was under offer and he replied that it was (although he sounded unsure). Anyhow, given that the property was seemingly under offer I advised him that I would not view it, at which point he slammed the phone down. The whole thing was really very strange and unwarranted. I can only assume that he "got out of the wrong side of the bed" as my grandmother used to say. (i.e. he put his foot in the used chamber pot).

Comical agency who take no responsibility for their actions
I've had an experience which was almost comical in how incompetent these guys were along the way.Things this agency has decided they don't need to do:- Have keys to their properties- Collect rent from tenants- Check tenants are actually living in their properties- Follow their own proceduresThings this agency has decided it will do:- Blame everybody else when things go wrong- Claim they're "trying to find a way forward" then when asked what that is have no answer- Lie about having end of tenancy check outs booked in- Establish a tenant is in possession of a property by "looking through the window" only after receiving complaints about their actions.A weirdly dodgy agency who seem set up to block the truth at every turn & blame everybody & everything else when things go wrong. Somehow managing to avoid any consequences to their own actions. Very good at throwing their clients under the bus, not good at managing rental properties.

Viewing inefficiency
Rang Crewe branch to request viewing: left voicemail and sent email to same effect. 24 working hours later, no response. Rang again to get v/mail. Maybe this is unrepresentative experience... or maybe their staff are failing timefully to respond to buyers. This inefficiency is precisely what angers sellers, who may lose sales because potential buyers view, and offer, on rival properties they are considering with other agents.I would expect all calls and emails are responded to within 24 working hours - and that agents explicitly undertake to do this. If their staffing is affected by illness they need to state on auto email reply/v/mail that they regret their response may be slower than normal and when they *will* respond ('within 48 hours', etc).

Zero focus on the customer
Zero focus on the customer. Just find somebody else, particularly if you are a landlord letting a property. The applicant vetting process they do isn't fit for purpose and I was left with an "approved" applicant who should never have passed any reasonable vetting process and consequent rent arrears. I asked to speak to their CEO seven times and all I eventually got was a letter saying he would not be calling me. They just aren't bothered.

No show
We arranged for Jonathon, the manager, from the Swinton branch to come out and value our property for rent & sale. We agreed a time to meet at the property as we don’t live there anymore and Jonathan didn’t show up. Called 3 times and no one answered. Rude and no respect for anyone else’s time.
