Unfortunately, i read these reviews quite late and I am in agreement with all the negative opinions about Bridgfords Withington. We tried to buy a flat, but when we told them that we have our own mortgage advisor, the communication stopped. When we tried to get updates, they would try to discourage us to continue. They went on making an offer for our maximum budget, despite only having 1 additional buyer who offered 25k less than us. Dishonesty/ lack of transparency and totally unprofessionalism, especially Richard/ Hammad. I am happy I did not use their services, and I now select properties which are not in their portfolio. Quite sure the seller has received a lower offer as well, which is a shame as the flat was superb. Avoid!

Savannah was an incredible guide while I was viewing the property - always responsive and truthful when answering questions, responsive to emails, and did not put any pressure on me to feel as though I had to apply. Thanks to that, I finally managed to find a property to rent after months of trying. Can't recommend her enough.

Recently went through a remortgage with Lewis which should have been straight forward but ended up being a little more complicated. Lewis was fantastic throughout the whole process and was always there at the end of the phone or email. Would 100%, without doubt, recommend Lewis to anyone looking for a mortgage advisor. Straight talking, no fussing or messing around , got the job done and for that, I'm extremely grateful. If he's still there at the time of my next remortgage, I will be asking for Lewis!

A big applause to Bridgfords, especially for Lewis as my favourite mortgage advisor. Our adventure started for buying our first brand new house, using services of another mortgage advisory firm, which indeed seems to be a quite popular one. However, after 10 days of hassle, we asked help from Lewis to save us. He managed to get our AIP from one of the big four banks within less than two days, which the previous firm failed to get in 10 days. From the start until the exchange of contracts, he has always made us feel comfortable, filled with trust. He is a real problem solver with his kind and calm manner, having a win-win approach to the benefit of all parties. He is super communicative and highly responsive. I can’t recommend him enough. We will definitely seek for his first class service in the future. Thank you Lewis! Thank you Bridgfords!

We have recently remortgaged through Lewis and received a fantastic service. He was very professional, efficient, extremely personable and always at the end of the phone if we needed to speak to him (or would ring straight back if he wasn't available). Lewis managed to get us back with a High Street lender (eternally grateful, thanks Lewis) and it was all completely painless. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lewis to anyone and when our fixed rate is up, we will definitely be back (so make sure you don't go anywhere Lewis!), thanks again D&D.

Recently dealt with Lewis for my mortgage as he came highly recommended from a work colleague - I have to say he certainly did not disappoint, he totally simplified what I expected to be a really complex transaction and made sure I understood at all points as well as keeping me updated on the progress throughout. Very please with the service and result of selling my mother’s house via Bridgfords Swinton. Mike was knowledgeable and efficient. His sale price estimate was 20% higher than another local firm but he managed to achieve it. He also arranged to visit mum in her care home to complete the paperwork. Happy to recommend.

Branch staff good, conveyancing beyond horrendous

Started the journey of selling my flat with Bridgfords well, great listing, quickly found a buyer, then Bridgfords conveyancing service took over and was incompetent at every turn. 6 months on from accepting an offer I’ve had to end the sale as my mental health couldn’t handle anymore of the misleading, lies and gaslighting from their conveyancers. Was so bad even the branch staff said they were embarrassed at how bad it was.

Based on my experience using this branch and in particular Lewis as my mortgage advisor i would offer nothing but the highest of recommendation. As a first time buyer i really didn't have much of an idea on the whole process and different steps when purchasing a house. After a brief sit down with Lewis everything was made clear to me and from mortgage application through to completion nothing was ever too much to ask of him, in particular fitting appointments around my busy working schedule. If I could put 0 I would. My cousin gave notice that he was giving up the flat due to family and health issues. Before he was able to remove his things (within a week) they have taken his belonging and given only some clothing back. They have stolen a family air loom watch (Rolex) , cash that was for Christmas, not given back any expensive trainers .. they have drip fed some things back since like the tvs and yet to receive the Xbox, they have photos of his stuff on their report which they haven’t given back. They are not to be trusted . They are proceeding to trade non ethically and illegally. Reports to police have been made. They prey on vulnerable people

After trying to contact multiple local estate agents to find a property to rent, I finally had the pleasure of coming across Bridgfords. A week after viewing and I am now in a property that is perfect. This wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Lian. Bridgfords Gosforth

Bridgfords Gosforth - categorically the worst letting agents I have ever dealt with. They were very efficient at getting credit checks completed and the rent and deposit organised. After that though the service was appalllng. We picked up they keys a few days before we moved in and noticed a wash basin in the ensuite was smashed, and the premises was generally dirty (not mentioned on the inventory). Rang and advised - and said they could access the property to repair if necessary. It was not repaired when I moved in and I was advised this was because I needed to report through their portal. In the first week I had to report repairs - washing machine not plumbed in, broken toilet seats, kitchen cupboards so dilapidated the drawers fell out when opened, gas fire not working, thermostats missing/broken on radiators, ventilation fans not working plus the smashed basin. It took them 7 weeks to get some of the repairs done, the remainder were outstanding when I left 6 months later. I chased and chased but just got told they aren't priority repairs (repairs on white goods are supposed to be prioritised). Once I handed my notice in they were super efficient at arranging viewings to get some other poor fool to pay £850 to live in a cold badly maintained property.Although I have seen a copy of the check out report which mentioned lots of issues, all of which predated my tenancy, I have never had confirmation that the Land Lord is happy ( They brow beat me into taking a zero deposit arrangement which was very expensive so I don't have a deposit to come back) All in all swift to take your money slow to respond to issues and communications demonstrate how little they care about their tenants. I cannot recommend highly enough that you avoid this business like the plague.

would not recommend this company to any landlord. The fees are extremely high, with additional charges that are not always made clear from the outset. Communication is poor, and it is often very difficult to get hold of staff when you need support or answers.

You're a star Ellie

Just wanted to mention the first Class service received by Ellie in the Tynemouth office. She is more than helpful every time I speak to her. I am a Landlady and despite the extremely expensive charges Bridgefords have for every aspect of Letting, it is Ellie who is polite, extremely efficient, always pleasant and a delight to deal with. Service like this needs to be recognised ...Ellie should run the office as nothing is ever too much trouble. I was visiting recently from London and Ellie was off, sadly. Other staff were on the phone and didn't even acknowledge I was there! so rude considering the money I pay them. I am in the Property business myself, so know how people expect to be treated. Well done Ellie, you are an asset to Tynemouth!
