A huge thank you to Mel for everything she has done for us. Buying and selling can be so stressful, but she made the whole process so much easier. She was always there to answer our questions, kept us updated, and was so easy to talk to. When things got stuck because of the solicitors, she didn't just leave us to it, she went above and beyond, got involved, and helped get everything back on track. I recently had my property up for sale with reeds rains,,, I also had a property sold through them in 2020,,, I found the staff at reeds rains extremely knowledgeable, helpful , polite , and courteous in the process of both properties,,, the reeds rains in Cheadle were exceptional ,,, I would personally like to thank, Hassan, Mel and the rest of the team for their amazing estate agent knowledge and know how,,,,,!!!! I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Reed Rains Melanie Burgess the branch manager at Cheadle during my property purchase, particularly the way my concerns were handled by Melanie Burgess. I purchased a property through this agency and have been trying to obtain clear information regarding ongoing tenant issues and the expected vacant possession date. Last month, I was informed that the tenants would have moved out, but I am now being told this may not happen until July. As a buyer making a significant financial commitment, I believe it is reasonable to expect accurate information, transparency and updates. Unfortunately, communication throughout this process has been extremely poor. I have had to make numerous calls to chase updates, as there has been little to no proactive communication from the branch especially from Melanie. Different members of staff have provided conflicting information, leaving me confused and concerned about the status of the property. There also appears to be a lack of communication between the branch, the estate agents, and the parties involved in resolving the tenancy issue. However, my biggest concern is the conduct of Melanie Burgess, the Branch Manager. When I contacted the branch seeking clarification and expressing legitimate concerns about a property I am in the process of purchasing, I was met with an attitude that I found dismissive, rude, aggressive and completely unprofessional. Rather than listening to my concerns or attempting to provide reassurance, she repeatedly interrupted me, spoke over me, and failed to address the questions I was asking and hanging up my call when I was speaking to her is extremely concerning, unprofessional and upsetting. Most concerning of all, Melanie abruptly ended the conversation by simply raising her voice and saying “bye” and hanging up the phone while I was speaking to her about my concern. I have never experienced such behaviour from a manager in any customer-facing role. As someone in a leadership position, I would expect a far higher standard of professionalism and customer care, particularly when dealing with a customer who is understandably concerned about one of the biggest financial commitments and a update on the property they have purchased. What made the situation even more frustrating was the apparent lack of accountability. Instead of acknowledging my concerns or attempting to resolve them, I was left feeling dismissed and ignored. I contacted Melanie simply seeking an update and some clarity regarding a situation that has changed multiple times. At no point was I being unreasonable; I was asking for information that any purchaser would reasonably expect to receive. The way I was spoken to, repeatedly interrupted, and then abruptly cut off during the conversation was unacceptable. No customer should be made to feel that their concerns are an inconvenience, especially when they are investing a substantial amount of money into a property being sold through your agency. Such behaviour falls far below the standards I would expect from any member of staff, let alone a Branch Manager whose role is to lead by example and ensure customers are treated with respect. Buying a property is a beautiful time and also can be stressful, customers deserve honesty, clear communication, and professionalism throughout. Unfortunately, my experience with Melanie Burgess the branch manager at Reeds Rains Cheadle estate agents has been horrific and left me as a customer shaken by how rude aggressive and dismissive an extremely unprofessional the overall handling of this matter has left me with very little confidence in the branch. I sincerely hope senior management reviews this and how customer concerns are handled and takes steps to improve both communication and professionalism, as no customer should be treated in the manner that I was. Extremely upset as a customer and the service provided from a branch manager Melanie Burgess.

Poor communication skills when selling a property with this estate agents. Very good sales and valuation to get you signed up, but then No feedback after viewings and little communication in the process of selling. It was very hard to get hold of the relevant estate agent and id never get a call back with my queries. Very disappointed all in all and i would never advise to use them after the stress of this move.

Various estate agents valued my house lower and 1 warned me about going with reedrains. Mel not only achieved me over the asking price, but also sold my propery in 2 days with 4-5 offers. Mel's magic did not stop here, I recieved excellent advise about how I should proceed with my next (auction) property, documentation etc... I ran into some troubles, Mel allways picked up the phone, continiously contacted my solicitor, auction team, buyer solicitor and the buyer. Eventually, my chain got over the line on 03/02/2026. THANKYOU SO MUCH MEL!!!! It would not have been possible without you.

If I could rate 0 I would. False advertising from these estate agents. Advertising a property with false information even though they have been contacted with correct information about a property but they still insist on not rectifying the mistake. Putting false information so they can rent the property out quicker. Absolutely disgraceful and inconsiderate behaviour. This estate agent has been informed that there is NOT a shared garden but still insist on saying otherwise. This flat for rent on GRANGE AVENUE has the small unkept garden. Not the garden it wrongly shows people instead .The garden that they have advertised as shared is actually a private garden belonging to the young family in the upstairs flat.

Having used Reeds Rains to sell my property recently - I personally think that they are the best estate agent company in Cheadle without a shadow of a doubt, very professional and well mannered and always get back to you with answers, they succeeded where everyone else failed. Hass and Mel worked extremely hard to get the property sold for the amount I wanted, what a lovely chap Hass is a credit to society ! He even bought my Jaguar MK2 in the garage !
