Truly deplorable company. Avoid purchasing a home with Avant if you can help it.For anyone considering a purchase with Avant, just look at the reviews here. Almost everyone who has gone ahead has had a miserable experience after the shiny sales process ends.Once they’ve got your money you are no longer of interest to them. You might find there sales patter is fine and all will look good at the outset but trust me, run a mile before they ask you to sign on the dotted line.Their customer service is non existent. It really is. You’d have more success talking to one of your (probably incorrectly installed) doors than you would expecting any level of service from them.And I speak as someone who has spent a truly miserable 3 years as an Avant customer.I recently found my Avant sales folder tucked away in a cupboard. The slogan - excellence without exception.If I could be bothered suing for false advertising then I would.

Service is appallingWe have been calling Avant for weeks, you are lucky if they pick up and when they do... they promise to call back and that's it. You will not receive the callback. It's exhausting, unprofessional, and annoying which is a shame because we really did like their properties.

We live in the Carnethy Heights development in Penicuik. There should be a drain outside our property but there is not so any time it rains we get flooding. They told us the bricks would allow water to drain faster however it is full of weeds and does not drain. It’s disgusting and a drain needs to be put in immediately. Contacted Avant with photos so many times but you just get ignored. Absolutely shocking

Customer service doesn’t exist. The completion dates aren’t true. They guarantee the houses are going to be ready knowing that they aren’t going to be done and putting people in trouble. Because of them the dream of having a family house became a nightmare. We are homeless now because of them. I wish l would have bought a house elsewhere. Save your time, stress, money and dignity and don’t consider Avant!

I have purchased a show home which absolutely ready but there is no driveway construct yet.I have been told that driveway will be completed till February 21.Don't you think it is too much time to build a driveway...

We have been living in our new build since April 2022 and since August 2022, we have been unable to use our en-suite shower due to the floor dropping and causing a leak to come through our kitchen ceiling. Avant's after sales support is non-existent and we keep getting fobbed off my different people within the company. If you are looking to buy a new build, stay away from Avant Homes!

We bought a new house from Avant Homes in Ellis Vale Armadale and we were extremely satisfied with the whole process. Starting from booking our initial appointment right the way through to moving into our new home everyone we dealt with made sure that we had all the information we needed and that everything ran smoothly. Particularly our sales advisor Rebecca, she was more than happy to answer every query we had and went above and beyond to make sure that things were running smoothly for us.The house itself is done to an incredibly high standard and we are very happy with our move.Update:There seems to be a pretty inefficient process in getting the snagging done where you are entirely reliant on people remembering to pass information on. If you don't keep on top of following up then you will just be forgotten about.The after sales service is a complete 180 from the pre sales service.

TrustpilotGreat service under challenging conditions
We bought the house during a covid lockdown and understood the build would be challenging, given the supply chain, covid and restricted access/working conditions the builders were dealing with. The house progressed very slow to start with and the communication to us could have been better, in the beginning, explaining the delay in detail - without that you just assume nothing is being done. However, in the end, we did end up moving in within the agreed timescales (just!) - which was a brilliant achievement. We have also had some teething problems since moving in but what I would say is that the site manager and assistant have been magnificent thus far and we are in progress to resolving everything. The site management team; Wayne & Oliver instil you with confidence and have explained everything to me in terms that I understand at all stages of the build they are a credit to Avant. Of course, we have had to make a few compromises with regards to options due to availability/supply but again, I can't really mark the developer down on these points as it's outside their control. The alternative options were high quality if not exactly what we wanted. Overall given the circumstances and assuming all the snagging issues are resolved! I would struggle to mark Avant down at all but clearly, the main plus points for me were the site management team who were friendly, honest and performed mini-miracles to get us in on time. Great effort Wayne & Oliver - thank you.

We are absolutely over the moon with our Avant home at the Hawthornden development in Rosewell. This is our fifth new build over the years (3 taylor wimpey, 1 Cala and now the Avant). The Avant home has been the best quality, built to a very high standard with a good finish inside. In our experience this is hugely down to the site manager here (Mike), we feel that a good/bad site manager can make or break a development . Avant are lucky to have a man of his calibre working for them. Snagging wise we have only had silly little bits and pieces and are happy with any repairs that were needed. All of our friends and family that have been to see our new home have been bowled over with it. We would highly recommend buying an Avant home.
