GoogleIf I could put less than a star I would. Horrible, money grabbing company. They are incompetent, don't care about anything else than lining their pockets from wherever they can get it.
Avoid using, private renting is so much cheaper. I was also contacted about this review in a very rude email.

When renting a property, the landlord has legal responsibilities to ensure that the tenant is allowed to rent in the UK and that a tenancy agreement is in place so that both parties (tenant and landlord) are protected throughout the tenancy. This includes: proof that the tenant has the right to rent in the UK, a signed tenancy agreement between the tenant and landlord, a guarantor agreement to cover the rent if the tenant cannot pay (if applicable), and the collection and lodging of deposits into a government backed scheme.
Unfortunately, you reserved the property through StudentTenant.com and proceeded to move into the property after liaising directly with the current tenants. This caused many problems for the landlord, they did not have proof that you had a right to rent in the UK, have a signed tenancy and guarantor agreement in place, or your tenancy deposit to be lodged into a government protected scheme.
As a result, we were forced into reaching out to yourself to resolve the issue immediately once we were advised that you had moved in before the necessary checks were made.

Sorry to hear that you are unhappy. We strictly follow government guidelines to ensure your deposit is protected. There are three government backed deposit schemes, Deposit Protection Service, MyDeposits and Tenancy Deposit Scheme. All of our deposits are lodged through the Custodial scheme with the Deposit Protection Service, meaning that all deposit moneys are not held by us, but within the scheme itself.
As the tenancy deposit is lodged into a scheme authorised by the government, all deductions are mediated by an independent body who collect all information and evidence from both the tenant and the landlord (or letting agent), to agree whether deductions are made and how much. When it comes to processing deposit deductions, we simply act upon instructions from the landlord and any claims must be backed by evidence when processed through the scheme.
We are more than happy to provide evidence of where the tenancy deposit has been lodged.

GoogleI am a new Landlord in Canterbury and had concerns about renting a property which is not local to me. Student Tenant have been brilliant on many levels. I was struggling to book viewings for my property, within a week of instructing Student Tenant the bookings were rolling in. It was helpful for me to receive the enquires and bookings by email because it allowed me to see if my property was getting the right exposure and level of interest. Within a very short space of time my property was let for the 2014 year and everything was taken of by Jade at Student Tenant.
I think the most positive part of my experience with the company are the staff, they are a pleasure to deal with, Jade or one of the team is always available to discuss any concerns or queries, matters are always dealt with swiftly and they are on the phone or email with answers quickly, there is no tiresome chasing up.
My property has already been let for 2015 and I hope to have many years of lets through Student Tenant.

All the staff are friendly and listen to your requirements with each tenancy. When you ask any advice from the staff they are always willing to find the answers for you, staff always return phone calls quickly. Jade in particular is always bubbly and understanding with my requirements with one house being only for Mature students.
