I Rang up and spoke to Paul about a building plot I had seen on Rightmove He was completely arrogant and unhelpful I was going to make a generous offer on the plot for sale in Louviers road, Weymouth But just speaking with Paul for one 30 second conversation was enough to make me not want to have dealings with McHugh&Co I hope the person selling the plot through you sees this reveiw and changes their mind about using McHugh&Co to sell their Plot

Having purchased a commercial property with McHugh's London. My partner and I would like to thank them for all of their help during the process. Not only did we have a vendor refusing the relinquish the keys but had a number of teething issues to be resolved. Finally getting keys delivered to us on Christmas Eve was more than a result in the middle of a pandemic and was apparently all part of the service. Well done McHugh's and a big thanks to Paul who made it all happen with great style and a good measure of humour.

I had a flawless experience selling my house at auction through McHugh & co. Marino Costi has been worth his weight in gold. It was clear my property was in experienced hands from day 1. He had a clear understanding of the market in my area, the property was competitive priced at auction and all went accordingly exactly how he described it. His guidance and knowledge were invaluable through the process right down to details like setting a sales note with the solicitor. All within a month - from initial contact to listing, auction day and sold well exceeding my reserve price. This is why I chose to avoid the traditional (slow) estate agents and sell directly through auction. I'm glad I chose McHugh & co.

Avoid dealing with McHugh & Co

Avoid dealing with McHugh & Co. especially if you have no experience buying on auctions. They work with some seriously dodgy sellers and their legal pack is like a minefield - especial "special conditions" part. Buyer will end up paying ALL seller's fees and more ( buyer even pays seller for things like EPC ...). They don't use digits when mentioning additional costs hoping that potential buyer will miss that part. There will be over £15K additional fees for a buyer + regular fees that you would expect when buying on auction. They do not issue any invoices or receipts, how this is even legal? Properties are not even registered in sellers name. Guide price is a joke, bidding actually starts £10k above the gp. They keep extending auction time by 2min, by 10min, by 5 min - at the end auction ended 40 min late. There is so many things wrong with this place its scarry, stay away unless you really know what you're doing.

Hidden fee's contained .... Buyers beware

Hidden fee's contained in an updated addendum pack for a small premises released just before an upcoming auction meant the hidden fee's contained in the terms were likely to be more than the cost of the purchase. Told this was normal by member of their team when I queried, but I can definetely say this is not the norm and lends one to be reminded of say 'let buyer beware' when purchased at their auctions.

Hidden fees😢 For a £100K property, buyers can face around £9,500 in extra fees on top of the price, including the buyer’s fee, buyer’s premium, seller legal/auction fee contribution, search fees, and drafting fee. Auctioner website only highlights £1200 fees. Other all fees are hidden in special terms and conditions which is not fair. Special conditions strongly favour the seller, so buyers should get legal advice and read the special terms and conditions carefully, especially clauses 10, 15, and 22, before bidding. This is very good plateform for professional buyer in my opinion. I request to Auctioneer should treat buyers fairly and show all fees clearly in numbers, like the advertised auction fees.

Why does McHugh move the end auction…

Why does McHugh move the end auction times? Never had this before and sense underhand activities. Using preceding lots overrunning as an excuse when everything is electronic is very suspicious. Not trustworthy. The reply below regards T&C’s is not a reflection of what happens. No bids was placed like in the T&C’s and yet the clock keeps moving further away. Only if a bid happens to stop snipping unlike eBay it states with the process be moved by just over a min. Nobody bid and yet the clock gets moved all the time. No other property auction does this. Sorry, the T&C’s are very misleading. Please do not take my review offline. McHugh called me to advise why they do it because apparently there own system cannot cope with so many properties all ending at the same time. So like I said, why put so many with the same start time. We know why they really do it - so if no bids and another bidders misses out on another property, they then move onto another property to bid as the clock keeps pushing away. They also advised eBay does the same - but they do NOT do the same. I will say it again to refresh this post in case Mchugh want it removing. BE VERY CAREFUL using this auction company as the goal posts WILL move
