Met up with Elena after she relied quickly on SpareRoom, did the viewing and then paid the holding deposit. Everthing was done over email, sent over my docs and references! Bish bash bosh.. Our experience with this company was God awful. If Google allowed a less than 1 Star rating this is what they'd get. We identified a property that looked promising to rent. To 'secure the property' Cool Cribs demanded a £300 deposit. We were initially told the landlord wanted 6 months of rent in advance, which we managed to get reduced with the use of a guarantor. Our main gripe is the landlord's identity was kept from us. As in, the landlord field was left blank even in documents that we were expected to sign. It was only at the last moment that we saw who the landlord is and after some basic research realised, we had no choice but to withdraw our offer. The landlord features in a very negative BBC documentary and damning Guardian articles, one headline is 'Landlord must hand back £70,000 in rent for letting substandard flat'. When we politely asked Albert from 'Cool Cribs' to return our deposit, he flat out refused and claimed 'our actions are in line with the statutory provisions and industry best practice'. We recommend you find out who the landlord is before giving these guys any money, because they sure as hell won't refund you anything. Google the landlord and if you're happy with the results, then proceed. If you're not happy, you've saved yourself a chunk of money and a lot of stress. They are not interested in customer satisfaction, just making a 'quick buck'.

I did a viewing with them, such a waste of time, nothing like what they said. Once they knew I am not so keen on the property they said you can find your way back yourself!!!!!
