Gregor, the key to a fantastic first rental experience with Chestertons

I can't recommend Gregor Scott and Chestertons enough! We were looking for quite specific rental requirements in terms of accessibility and to tight timings and Gregor was absolutely fantastic. In addition to incredible professionalism and expertise, he went above and beyond, was incredibly proactive to help me secure the perfect rental, brilliantly guiding me along the way and made the whole process smooth and incredibly human. He thoughtfully and skilfully balanced tenant and landlord needs to get to the best solution, adaptively navigating any unexpected solutions. This is my first experience with Chestertons and it’s been really impressive with Gregor.

I want to write about my wonderful experience with Niema.After 4 years of dealing with another agency, Niema from Chesterton took over the managing of our property and from the first phone call (I was already surprised she called) I was so impressed that I remember thanking her for being so professional and prompt in finding a solution to our situation.Quite honestly I had lost all my trust in Agencies after my previous experience but I am now really hopeful.Niema is proactive, professional, quick at problem solving and lovely to speak to. The team were very professional, provided good advice, were responsive on the telephone and email, and allowed access on a number of occasions for measuring up, builders etc. They were always on time for appointments and most importantly were personable without any of the bs you sometimes get.

Do not do business with them. They let a tradesman into my home without telling me. They gave him a key and he just opened the door. I thought I heard something upstairs. I walked up there and there was a man standing in my kitchen!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know how terrifying that is? They have messed up on many occasions.

I rented a property through Chesterton's for two years and from the moment my partner and I moved into the property James Smith the Property Manager made the process and duration of our stay smooth sailing. I have rented my flat out with Chestertons/James Pendleton for a number of years. Their property manager Sam is outstanding and has made renting the flat out very straightforward. He is brilliant at managing problems or sorting things out if they go wrong at the property - always very quick to respond and works hard to ensure that I pay a reasonable but not extortionate amount for products and services if required.The wider lettings team are usually very responsive and quick to sort out marketing material, contracts etc when there is a change in tenants.

Confident professional letting service

I've been using Chestertons as my letting agency for some 4 years now. I am happy with the services. They make sure I follow the rules and legislations, sort all property management out, deal with the tenants for me etc. Meaning that I do not need to lift a finger ever really.My new property manager Michell Vasquez is forthcoming, easy to communicate with, fast at responding and generally professional.

If I could leave 0 stars I would.... Landlords be VERY careful

If I could leave 0 stars I would. As a landlord I could never recommend their rental department. Chesterton's take high fees, provide little to no service and worst of all - hide things in the small print. Even though I moved agents (as Chestertons were sadly so bad) they are still demanding an annual fee (and it is not small) until my tenants move out. Even though they are no longer managing the property (and lets be honest, did very little management even when they were) they can still take the money due to their hidden clause. This was deliberately not pointed out to me. They are unfortunately very underhand.
