We (unusually) are commenting as we are buyers who bought a house in Oxford via this firm. Our main contact was Julia Wilson. It was a complex purchase with multiple hurdles. Julia acted for the executors. I felt she always had her clients interests at heart and fought hard for them. She also was helpful in terms of facilitation and her team's time to make things happen and arrange visitors doing inspections for us. A consummate and fair professional who had a good back up team. I would consider using her to sell a house for me.

We sold our property through the Marlborough office of Carter Jonas. The team especially Sophie and Fred were always on hand to give excellent help and advice and visited the property numerous times over the months when it was on sale.We had a number of viewings throughout the time the property was on the market and their up to date feedback on the viewings was invaluable. Thank you for all your professionalism as this made the process so much easier for us.We were delighted that the house eventually sold this year to a family who will now look after it for years to come and make it their family home - as it was for us for 45 years !

Deliberately trying to put off tenants with pets

I am trying to rent somewhere and have a dog. The new Renters Rights Act should make it easier, but Carter Jonas do the opposite. I was told today that they have a 'huge backlog of pet requests and it's taking around 1.5 months to get permission from a building manager' so no point even asking. Surely that's something that can happen in principle before a property is marketed? I believe they are using delays and unhelpfulness as a way of continuing to exclude tenants with pets.

Very poor service

Really poor service. Dealt with Louis from their Winchester Branch who was pleasant (although outwardly commented negatively about others who had viewed the property that day, which I didn't find particularly professional) on the viewing on Friday 13th October. Had some immediate questions which were emailed across within hours of the viewing to which 3 weeks later there hasn't been a response.Put an offer in on the property the following Monday (16th) and had an update on the Wednesday saying probably wouldn't have an update until the end of the week.Didn't receive any further updates (despite chasing) until 8 days later to say there still wasn't a decision but no explanation as to why and that the owners wanted to meet us the following Friday (3rd November - today).Sent a response within 3 hours saying we'd be happy to meet them and also asking some really basic questions. As of today I have had no communication following my email from over a week ago, nor have I received any updates regarding the property or my application.Extremely disappointed and wouldn't recommend to others...
