Be very careful going with this agency. They were very unhelpful. We rented a house with an abusive landlord living right next to us in Stapelford Haverhill Road Cambridge and there was no help when he tried to verbally abuse us/being inappropriate. In the end he kicked us out of the property (young family with three very young kids). Please be very careful they are also totally overpriced and offer hardly any support!!! Very traumatic experience - especially for the children.

We decided to use Carter Jonas as our first estate agents. Worst decision of our lives - they wasted a month of our lives. Having looking at a property on their site , we really liked the look of it and requested a viewing . The viewing went well , I would say that was the only positive aspect. After the viewing , we were told to fill out some forms to excel in our application for the property . However , unexpectedly the estate agent that showed us around the property randomly went on holiday for 2 weeks without giving us any information or warning . Meaning we had to talk to some random estate agent that didn’t really have any idea what was going on. Although this was our only choice so we had to proceed anyway as we really wanted this property. So as told - we filled out the forms and about a week later we were told our application was successful. And they immediately asked for payment which we found odd. We were also told we needed a guarantor as apparently a £800 a month appointment wasn’t affordable between 2 full time workers earning more than enough money to pay . Anyway regardless , we agreed and provided one . Even then , apparently that was still not good enough . After paying for the deposit and having our viewing and being left in the dark for so long we were told our application was unsuccessful because of our age ?? Baring in mind we had a viewing at the very start and the estate agent could see how young we were (19) . We don’t see how she would effect anything if we are both earning and in full time employment? So they’re telling us we will never be able to get our first property because we are too young ?not everyone stays living with their parents until they are 30. If age was an issue why did they not mention that at the very start upon application? Instead of wasting our time and getting our hopes up. It’s just funny how they took payment from us straight away when they already had in mind that they would say no . All in all , our first experience was a terrible one and we will not be using this company again . If you like being discriminated against your age , having your time wasted and getting constantly asked for details to prove you can pay for a cheap apartment, then I suppose this company is perfect for you .

While looking for a home desperately I got introduced to Marina Kimpton at South Kensington office. Might I say it was a real pleasure. Not only she got me the apartment I needed in a couple of days but with the requirements I wanted. I would strongly advice anyone looking for an aprtament to get in contact with her. It was a true pleasure thank you very much.

Updated:I just learnt that CJ did not send their client my 2 page letter with multiple written offers that I provided a link to through the CJ portal. I’m glad I’m not paying them to sell my house., , , , , , Original:Attempted to buy a property CJ were marketing.Put in my offer, they had a response from the seller but didn’t tell me at that point. Meanwhile, they were contacting other people to try to get viewing booked in so they could start a bidding war on a house that had not sold in 6 months.Eventually, I tried to speak to them to ensure my final offer was as good as it could be for their seller, couldn’t get hold of them so sent them an email explaining what was on my mind and why I wanted to speak to CJ.... they forwarded it to the seller without my consent. The poor sellers were trying to sell and had reduced their price, I wanted to offer asking price but CJ were clearly after a bidding war. Eventually abandoned calls with them and used their online “Make an offer” Page With offer, terms, my broker, my solicitors details all there... only to get a call asking what my enquiry was about and then asking what I’d like to offer! Would I sell with them having experienced this side, unlikely, would I consider buying through them... never through the same office.Buying a house is hard enough without worrying about agents trying to inflate their bonus at the expense of the seller and buyer.

DO NOT ISE THIS COMPANY.please listen to my advice, they lie all the way through their operation. I had to pull out of a house move the day I was expecting the keys to my new house with a newborn baby because of the absolute incompetence of FIONA and JESS. It totally ruined our lives. They Lied about bad credit and said we failed the checks WHEN WE DIDNT. I literally have had the worst experience I’ve ever had with estate agents and on top they lied to my guarantors. THEY LIED I promise you guys do not use this estate agents. They lie. I’ve never in my life experienced something so stressful. The day I was supposed to pick my keys up they lied about the referenceing. It passed !! I pulled out of the deal because of their incompetence. Disgraceful and the worst experience I’ve ever had. Please listen to me and do not use this estate agents

I’ve never known as estate agents make the process so complicated. Poor communication lies at the heart of this review but considering the business they are in, effective communication is everything. As a vendor, sales or letting, you need to consider your purchasers/tenants experience. A poor experience can result in a real loss of revenue. Go elsewhere

We chose Carter Jonas to sell our property. Ed was excellent throughout the period. I have to say that initially wasn't impressed with the photographer that took the photos. Speaking to Ed, this was quickly resolved and another photographer was employed and the photos were so much better.Our house sold within the first week. From there everything was fairly smooth and Ed was around to help with questions and queries.

Horrible agency. They do not care about tenants at all, they fee are ridiculous and very expensive. They charge for everything. They are very tricky with tenants ( read your contacts and everything they give you to sign very careful ).They do only care about money. Consumer services is horrible. I have not met such rude people in my life, I hope never to have to use their services anymore. I was in a difficult situation (and dear I have to pay for it).They take advantage of people.
