Stevenage branch is a waste of time…
Stevenage branch is a waste of time recently a neighbour sold up and moved the new owners have decided to rent the property out for two years.Problems started to arise about a month after tenant moved in bins not put out prefers to hire a skip ( what do you pay council tax for) takeaways being delivered at 2am bright lights in my bedroom windows I don't mind people having a takeaway but show a little thought for others.Recently loud voices at four am then people coming to stay playing loud music very early in the morning ( two am)Being a shared drive parking in a manner that makes it difficult to use drive.Guttering falling down Stevenage branch notified months ago still nothing done in regards to this and other complaints now other neighbours have had enough and are complaining things like parking on the front lawn which now resbles a badly ploughed field.Landlord just as bad comments oh the tenants got issues it's upto them if they put the bins out (so rats are not a serious issue) loud music from car radios at two am is classed as anti social behaviour as stated if they want to eat takeaways about eight times a day that's fine but have some thought for the neighbours when ordering early in the morning this used to be the best area in the town with a five star rating now people feel their being pushed out by vermin.

I feel that I have to write a review
I feel that I have to write a review. I was asked to provide proof of ownership from the Land Registry before they put us on the market? I’ve never experienced having to do this with any other Estate Agent before? Felt it intrusive and unnecessary, and too personal? Is this ethical? Is it permitted? I thought this level of enquiry was up to the conveyancing solicitor, only on agreement of offer from prospective buyer. During the time with this company, not one person turned up. We did have several appointments just no shows. I know it can be a challenge when viewers may book but not follow through but we gave up with these agents.

Not trustworthy …
We applied to this company about a property we wanted to rent the day after it was advertised, when we finally got through to the office, they said they weren't arranging viewings at that time but they would keep us informed, the next day, this property was unlisted. We phoned the office and asked why and they said somebody had agreed to rent without viewing, how convenient!!!

If I could I wouldn't even give them…
If I could I wouldn't even give them any stars, I am a tennant from spalding branch and we have had problems after problems and takes ages for it to be "sorted" they send cowboy builders out that can't even do the job properly and the guy still hasn't gave us our money back, me my partner and our 3 year old son are currently sleeping in the living room as we can't even sleep in our own bedroom because of mould and damp, this started around the same time as last year. It is so cold we are using more heating then we should be, they say we are always waiting for the contractors to get back to them which can take weeks/months with no updat or no communication.

This company is absolutely hopeless
This company is absolutely hopeless. Unprofessional is an understatement. Chasing them for well over 3weeks to get back my tenancy deposit back and no one seem to be able to tell me when I can get my money back. I wish there was something less than one star.

Don't use them to "manage" your rental!
In August I decided to rent out my house. I was very nervous about the whole process as it was my first time and had 0 knowledge of what I needed to know as a landlord, so I decided the best road to take is to use an estate agent and pay them for the full management service...WRONG! I have had to chase the estate agents to sort out issues as I want to make sure my tenant is happy and looked after. I have been chasing since September and still not resolved. Their communication is poor and frankly I am disappointed in how once the contract is signed and you're paying their money, you don't hear anything from them...My tenant are also feeling the same way. Waste of money Don't do it!!

Totally poor
Totally poor, left me over 3 months without universal credit. Needed a letter with priof of what rent i was paying yet repeatedly fobbed off and lied to, when they finally did after 2 and a half months, the amount was incorrect, then the 2nd attempt was the first with the correct amount written on a post it note stuck on top of the incorrect amount. Took the local councils intervention to get a correct one. Totally unprofessional .

Just sold my house with William H Brown in Stevenage. Jack was very professional and super efficient. I had no success with Putterills so moved to William H Brown and had an offer within two days of being marketed. Highly recommended

Massive thanks to Harry Hicks!
Massive thanks to Harry Hicks! My girlfriend and I were looking for a rental in colchester he showed my girlfriend the house and then was nice enough to wait for me to finish work 15 mins later so I could see it. Really refreshing to see him go the extra mile. Would happily use again, top work.

To be very honest If I could I would…
To be very honest If I could I would give 0 stars. What an absolutely appalling service. I would never ever use this agent ever. I can only review as a buyer and not using their services myself as a seller but I honestly cannot believe the service or lack of service this agency has. They lied to me and my sales progressor and the whole chain involved for 8 months about a property we were purchasing. Telling us on exchange day that the house we were buying were actually still trying to get rid of tennants from the house their vendors were purchasing, Honestly awful service and Cliff ( office manager) has no people skills whatsoever he shared no empathy or compassion and just generally a real crap service. I have no idea how he got to that level of the business. When we did finally have to pull out of the sale I had zero contact from cliff. The only way I knew that cliff got my message was because I saw the house we had been buying for 6 months go back live onto rightmove. We experienced a completely different service from Haarts who are their local competitor and who would win my business over theirs every day of the week. Avoid.

Dishonest and Cheats
What a complete bunch of thieves and…What a complete bunch of thieves and totally dishonest not to be trusted if you are renting from them.I rented a bungalow from them, and they asked me if I could leave early as they had another tennant. I agreed I would do what I could and moved out 4 days early. Now refusing the refund. Also claiming £750 in damages claiming damages that were in place when i moved in and after i spent a considerable amount of time and money improving the property. Gutted !!

The worst letting agents ever
This is probably the worst letting agents I have ever used. They take your money and don't do anything. They put in tenants with no money. You have to chase up constantly. You have to deal with the tenant if you want something done. Basically you have to do it all. They will charge you for every little thing. The agents don't know anything when u call up. The staff turnover is high and so you never have the same person helping you. I would avoid at all cost. They still owe me money and don't ever communicate. They are seriously the worst agents I have ever worked with. Get this, the tenant cost me £8,500 and counting of damages.

Terrible Service
Terrible Service. I havent had someone speak to me so rudely and unprofessionally over the phone before. Stay clear from this agency, they treat customers like criminals. You do not build a reputable business like this. Plenty of other agencies to choose from. I though I had a booking today and rang the doorbell. The agency called me back like I was a criminal over a simple mistake a pizza delivery man can make, escalating things way out of hand, what a show that was. I had a booking for a property tomorrow with them, CANCELLED. Save the time. I also raised a complaint to Their Complaints department as this is unacceptable for a business. Also, their website shows Feefo feedbacks but these are only for people with an existing contract with them, if you had a terrible experience before you rent thier properties, it can't be added there. Classic.

Unprofessional. They breached the code of conduct and duty of care to me.
Unprofessional. Amongst other errors such as false valuations not based on comparable properties or data, WH Brown reduced the price of our property listing ‘without’ permission. Very unapologetic about their mistakes. These errors affected the perceived value of our property resulting in below market rate offer. I would NOT recommend.Their complaints process and upper management were very unwilling to help come to a solution, they were very unhelpful and rude, often aggresively talking to me with a raised voice. Avoid them!

I have experienced very poor customer…
I have experienced very poor customer service from W. H. Brown Stevenage office. (The issue is ongoing)Me and my husband have rented a property via W. H. Brown Stevenage office in Ickleford area. After a year we purchased our own property and gave notice to our landlord. We are in good terms with our landlord and have been in touch as neighbours. After our notice, we had written confirmation from our landlord that we would leave the property on a certain date. We contacted W.H.Brown and stated that our landlord agreed this date and has sent the office an email in addition to this. They said they will talk to our landlord and calculate amount due to pay accordingly. However the firm hasn’t got back to us with the amount for us to pay on time, therefore our bank has sent the full amount of the rent as we had a standing order. We have contacted the estate agent several times to send our money back but have been told this would happen ‘next week’. It has been almost a month and now that we have left the property, moved in our new place and still not paid the amount back.In addition to this it has been 17 days since we left the property and our landlord confirmed the deposit should be returned in full. However neither our deposit nor the overpaid rent bas been returned to us.We have been calling the office and Steve (the agent responsible) is always out and we are left with no explanation by the firm.I filled a complaint and looking to hear back. This has affected our finances. Especially when you have a new house mortgage to pay and all the other expenses this firm has caused us a big amount of unnecessary stress.

Were not clear and transparent about…
Were not clear and transparent about the 14 Day cooling off period. Verbally told we could cancel but this is not so. When we informed them we had changed our minds we were told ok. However then informed we could not sell with another agent because we had signed contract. Also did not ask us about sole agency just filled this part of contract in themselves. Agents are not honest. Would rather not sell house than let this agency act for us. Would definitely not recommend as you cannot trust them to act in your best interests.

Terrible
Same review I've left on Google: Really don't recommend them as they have no idea about the property they're selling, the viewing agent knows even less and they don't even have the decency to clean the property they're selling. Not to mention that throughout the process they keep trying to force you to work with their advisors. Next time I'd go for nestledin, butchers or any other agency who respects their buyers enough to at least welcome them to a clean property. As a date I'm selecting the 10th of July as that's the time we got our keys.

Extremely Disappointing Experience - Stay away!
My experience with William H Brown has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. We initially approached them to rent a property for a 6-month period, only to discover later that the contract we signed was actually for a year. This information wasn't clarified until I proactively reached out to them at the 5-month mark to inquire about the next steps.Throughout our tenancy, we encountered numerous issues with the flat, but the most concerning problem was the recurring leaks in the main bathroom. The first leak prompted an engineer's visit, which appeared to address the issue temporarily. However, the second leak occurred in the same bathroom, leading to further damage. Both the bathroom carpet and adjacent corridor were soaked, and even the walls suffered water damage. The response from William H Brown was to remove the bathroom carpet and leave behind an industrial-sized fan and dehumidifier, instructing us to run them as much as possible. We complied with their instructions diligently for an entire month, then two, and even three, yet received no communication or updates from them.Eventually, after three months of enduring this situation, we were informed that the landlord intended to repossess the property for repairs. However, just before our departure, a representative from William H Brown approached us, suggesting that we stay in the property due to the challenges we had endured. This was an incredibly insensitive proposal, considering the prolonged inconveniences we had faced. Not only did they leave us with an unusable bathroom filled with machines and cut pipes, but they also left the flat without carpets, exposing metal fixtures where the carpets used to be attached. Despite being unable to use the bathroom for three months, no rent reduction was offered. To make matters worse, even after vacating the apartment for a month, we have yet to receive a refund for the electricity consumed by the industrial machines they left behind. Our attempts to contact them have been met with empty promises of returned calls, further adding to the unprofessional and distressing experience. In conclusion, my encounter with William H Brown has been marked by a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and an utter disregard for tenant well-being. The entire situation has caused significant stress and frustration. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise against considering their services.
