Connells Falsified my Valuation Report!
Connells did valuation report on my house recently. It is a comedy of errors by this company. Firstly, they tried to falsify my report by adding that my property was in a flood area and had previously been flooded. All of which was proven to be incorrect and instead of altering the valuation report to suit this they refuse. They significantly undervalued it even after comparable evidence was supplied to them. The house in question is on the same street as my own and I have been informed by various other companies that this should have been used. Stay clear of this company, ideally check that this company will not be providing any valuation reports on your properties..

Connells have been fantastic to work with so far during our house purchase. We have had experience with many local estate agents in the past and Connells have been the best by far. Excellent communication, very attentive and friendly. Chris has been absolutely excellent from when we first booked in a viewing to now (in the conveyancing stages).
Tdr94 19 thank you for taking the time to leave us this great 5* review. Kind regards, Lucy, Customer Relations.

I used Connells to sell my property from that start they were professional and helpful nothing seemed to much I was selling a flat and they secured a buyer in less than 2 weeks at the asking price . All the staff but especially Andrew has gone above and beyond with this sale always in communication and very understanding and more than helpful. The only thing I personally wouldn't recommend from a sellers point of view is the solicitors connells recommend/use as they were awful and made things take 4 times as long and as a seller it was a massive put off I have come across other sellers that refuse to accept offers from those using these types of solicitors . But I would highly recommend Connells burgess hill estate agents when buying or selling. UPDATE We have recently used Nick the mortgage advisor and just wow so professional and so lovely to work with very prompt and goes above and beyond for his clients we thank him as our purchase was very quick and smooth
Hello, thank you so much for taking the time to provide our Connells team with a 5-star review. We are so happy to hear Andrew, Nick and the rest of the team helped you every step of the way with great service. If you ever require anything else from our team, we will be more than happy to help.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I am currently renting a property in Derby city centre managed by Connells/Burchell Edwards, and my experience has been extremely disappointing and, more recently, unacceptable. At present, the property is uninhabitable. I have been dealing with a faulty toilet pump for over 12 weeks, despite reporting the issue promptly, which has now completely clogged and is unusable. I have also been unable to use the shower for the past 3 weeks due to a damaged bath. As a result, I have been forced to temporarily move out of the property, incurring significant disruption to my daily life, work, and wellbeing. From the outset, the tenancy was problematic. Prior to moving in, I requested a second viewing to check appliances and general condition of the flat, which was refused. During my memorial viewing I stated that the place was dirty, but I was assured the property would be professionally cleaned; however, upon receiving the keys (after a two-hour delay caused by incorrect keys and no electronic fob to access the building) the flat was in a poor and unsanitary condition. Issues included visible mould around windows, dead insects throughout, mouldy food on the cooker and kitchen cabinets, unplumbed kitchen sink and broken sink pump, damaged and unsafe fittings including loose sockets and radiators, a covered smoke alarm, no locks on doors that were advertised as lockable, and general disrepair and waste left behind. They also advertised the building as having decent internet wired in, but this was not true as there is none available. Although a maintenance contractor was eventually sent, it took weeks for the sink to be fixed, and in the end only some issues were addressed, leaving several unresolved which I had to sort myself. Some are still issues to this day despite repeated reports. More recently, serious problems have been handled with a dreadful lack of urgency. A broken washing machine has taken 9 weeks to be arranged but has yet to be fitted. The ongoing toilet issue, caused by a faulty macerator pump that I reported on the first day of the fault, has still not been resolved after three months and has now completely failed, nearly flooding my bathroom. Furthermore, after reporting that the shower had broken when stepping in it, there was no response until I reported it again after 2 weeks, and I have since been informed that repairs are being postponed while the landlord seeks cheaper quotes. In the meantime, I remain without essential bathroom facilities in a property which I am paying full rent for. Throughout this process, communication has been poor or nonexistent, and there has been little acknowledgment of the severity of these issues. I have not received a meaningful apology, and the lack of action has caused considerable stress and inconvenience to both my work and personal life. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise you avoid this company at all costs.

Connells is a terrible agency that you should not work with
Connells is a terrible agency that only cares about you until the contract is signed. After being exemplary tenants for over 2 years, we have received zero support or flexibility. Despite the standard practice in the UK, they refused any 'rolling contract' options, forcing us into rigid fixed terms. Most importantly, the 'Break Clause' details provided by the agency were highly misleading. Even the Landlord, the Agency, and we (the Tenants) all had different understandings of the move-out dates due to their poor communication. While most professional agencies help find new tenants to allow flexibility, Connells only focuses on forcing you to stay until the last possible second, regardless of your perfect tenancy record. They do not care about the human element or the financial strain on tenants; they only protect their own interests. Save yourself the stress and avoid Connells at all costs.

Bad landord
My daughter was in one of the poorer maintained properties for a year whilst finishing a degree.. on leaving the property without any damage etc and cleaned the landlord started to use silly excuses to withhold the deposit.I must point out conells were not responsible for the maintenance and care of the property.Connell management stepped in and resolved the matter and the deposit was released .So a bit thank you to Connell for doing this.I wouldβve given five stars, but it took a couple of months and a lot of frustration which is mainly down to the landlord. Would I recommend Connells In the future? Yes I would.

Time Wasters
I booked in to view at property with Connells on Saturday at 11am. I arrived 5-10 minutes early, after a long journey and waited for the agent to arrive. When no-one turned up, I called the office twice but there was no answer, so I left a message. I eventually had to give up waiting as I had viewings booked in with another agency. At 4pm (5 hours after my viewing was booked for) they phoned me back but had no idea why, only that they had a missed call from me!! I explained what had happened but the response was "sorry that property is now sold". No cancellation text or email was sent to me.

Avoid
Quite possibly the worst customer service (or lack thereof) that I have experienced. Complete lack of care and professionalism. I was subjected to undue pressure to make an immediate decision to pay a holding deposit for a rental property; paid the holding deposit and agreed on a move-in date. At the time of writing, it is the day before the agreed move-in date and I have received no information whatsoever, not even to say that the tenancy wonβt be going ahead. When I requested an update earlier in the week, I was told that Connells are busier than other estate agents; that itβs perfectly normal to want a decision during or immediately after a viewing a property that had been advertised for some weeks; and that itβs perfectly normal for estate agents to provide no further information because they are busy. Iβm now left in a situation where I have packed all of my belongings with nowhere to go and a holding deposit paid. I have had far better experiences with estate agents such as James Lawrence, Vision Properties etc and would recommend them over Connells. Avoid at all costs!

We are absolutely disgusted with theβ¦
We are absolutely disgusted with the way this situation has been handled. We placed a deposit on a park home in good faith, fully expecting that we would be kept informed of any deadlines or time scales relating to the sale. The park manager had apparently relayed a time frame to the estate agent, yet this crucial information was never passed on to us. Without any warning, communication, or opportunity to respond, the property was sold behind our backs. Had we been properly informed, we would have acted immediately. Instead, we were left completely unaware and have now lost the home we had committed to. The lack of communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy throughout this process has been appalling. We are completely livid with how this has been handled and extremely disappointed in the estate agentβs failure to keep us properly informed.

Stay away - they are more interested in selling themselves than your house.
I contacted a branch of Connells in January with a view to choosing them as agents to sell my recently deceased sister's house. I felt in my meeting with them the agent made too big a deal about their success as large national company and their innovative sales methods and chose not use them and gave feedback to the agent. A few weeks later once the house was advertised by a rival local agency I was phoned by Connells trying to interest me in buying a house. I feel this was totally inappropriate use of my contact details. Rather than a giving a direct apology the young man (he sounded young) gave me a similiar spiel about the wonders of Connells I heard before. My advice is stay away from the corporate monolith that is more interested in selling itself than selling your house.

Worse experience our lives
Sold our property though them and it was one of the worse experiences of our lives. Verbal agreements and prior discussions to signing with them were not honoured in the contract. After going through their compliance team and met with no resolution, our complaint is currently being reviewed by the property ombudsman. There is zero customer service or apologies for things that go wrong and if there are any delays or issues you will be met with the fact that when you sign a contact with them you are agreeing to pay their fee for completion of a sale only as it's not an SLA. Therefore you are not signing for an agreed level of service which basically means they can do whatever they want. Even management and Area Director's don't give a toss and was even told by one that we were making a mockery of their contracts. Connells are hard nosed and don't look at vendors as humans, but simply as a financial transaction, despite house moves being one of the most stressful experiences in peoples lives. We had to chase for feedback of which was always pretty vague, their vendor app never worked depsite asking numerous times for it to be resolved, we had to rewrite the description of our property, changed the photos on the advert and took better ones with a Samsung phone. Oh and be aware of their photographers who when you suggest photos for your property, you will likely be met with 'no that won't work' or when you make suggestions on a USP for your property for it to be ignored as what do you know? (You have only lived in the property for X number of years) As it turned out s requesting for a change in photos and layout ended up with the sale we needed. After being stuck in this contract with them and no way out to sell our property quickly (we had bought a I am Sold Auction property) we took matters in to our own hands and did the viewings ourselves. After Connells marketing the property for 6 weeks with 10 viewings and no offers, the 4 viewings we did ourselves resulted in 2 offers of which one we accepted. After questioning all of this with Connells their response is sorry you are unhappy but we did get you to completion....well after paying Β£2.5k they didn't really get to us completion on their own. They registered an applicant and we basically secured the buyer ourselves. Please be warned about their tactics and their lack of transparency. The one saving grace was Adam who once we had an agreed sale was always amiable and friendly chasing up legal aspects. He is completely wasted in this toxic environment when it seems that the negotiators 'own' applicants, so don't be surprised when you call and want feedback, if you aren't talking to the negotiator who signed up the applicant you are unlikely to get any useful feedback. We now have another property for sale and wouldn't touch a traditional agent with a bargepole and have signed up with purple bricks for Β£399. After learning that anyone can take photos, and do a floorplan plus your own viewings this is a considerable saving. We have been really impressed with the ease, speed and follow ups we have already recieved with an online agent compared to a traditional one. At he end of the day remember with Connells you are not signing a SLA, you are only signing to commit to paying their fees when you complete - regardless of how they perform until you get to that point. When you run into issues with them don't expect any apologies, or compensation with them, expect to be gas lit and blamed for not reading a contract properly.

Terrible exerience with Connels
I am not sure if all estate agents are money grabbing, corner cutting vultures but my experience with Connels Worcester has been horrible. They ofcourse charged me with a Β£600 tenant finder fee, and have convinced me that the zero deposit scheme will ensure if there are any damages to the property they will be paid by the tenant(s). Ofcourse the apartment was left in shambles despite having regular inspection visits at my request and the repairs done to the flat were horrible. I would recommend finding a different management company to manage your property if you cant do it yourself. Absolute livid by their horrible service

Absolutely faultless from start to finish! We had had Andy round to value our property a couple of times in the past few years who had always been incredibly helpful, so when we finally decided it was time to put the house on the market at the end of January we asked him to give another valuation. Andy facilitated an open and professional discussion around our expectations and gave us confidence that we were all on the same page and he would do everything he could to do the best job possible. Arif did fantastic work contacting suitable people and setting up viewings and before we had even signed the contract, there were potential buyers lined up to view the property. Joe carried these out a few days later with great professionalism. Within 4 days, without the house even going on the general market, we had accepted an offer from the first people to view and a few days later had an offer accepted on our dream home. With only 8 weeks to go until the stamp duty increase we pushed forward in an aim to get the sale through in time which was a challenge in a 5 party strong chain, however the outstanding efficiency and professionalism of both Andy and Joe saw the sale through to completion inside the deadline. Without all of the teamβs collaborative efforts, communication and commitment to do exactly as they said they would do as soon as physically possible, I genuinely donβt believe it would have been achievable. Thank you to all of the team at Connells for making what is always a stressful situation a whole lot easier and smoother.

Irritatingly pushy, with an unwanted 'hard sell'.
Last year Connells valued my house. From that point on I was constantly being contacted to ask when I would be putting the house on the market. Phone calls, messages, contact cards through the letterbox (with handwritten notes saying please call me). It put me off them. When the time came, I used another agent. Recently, Ive arranged viewings of other properties, via various agents and there have been no issues. They all offer services but don't push and respect it when you decline. Yesterday, I arranged a viewing of a property which Connells are marketing. I expected to supply my details, give them my search criteria, my brief circumstances and arrange the viewing, but found myself subject to a 15 minute hard sell of a product where an agent 'does everything for me' and also a hard sell of their mortgage adviser. Despite telling the agent that Im satisfied with all my personal arrangements and that I just wanted to view the property, he persisted, which was quite irritating. The viewing itself was conducted by a different rep. (I was 15 mins early and he was 10 mins late, without any apology). There was little input about the property and I found some simple and perhaps obvious questions could not be answered. He did, however put a lot of effort and time into giving me the hard sell again, repeating the conversation Id had with his colleague earlier. He questioned my own financial decisions and pushed heavily for me to consider the Home Search package. It actually distracted from the viewing and highly irritated me, especially when someone won't take the hint that Im quite happy (at 56 yrs) with my own decisions and that I didn't want the product. I am porting my fixed rate mortgage via my lender. It is sorted. I don't need to pay someone else to do it. I can and do (constantly) look at all the property platforms. Im registered with various agents who send me details of new listings (often before they are published). I don't need to pay a Connells agent to 'do all that for me'. Connells staff need to listen. Im there to simply view a property. If only they put as much effort into selling the property as they do trying to sell their products. The persistence soured the viewing and not only I could I not wait to end the viewing, but I am actually put off viewing properties where I have to deal with Connells again because I have no wish to repeat my experience.

AVOID!!!!
AVOID!!!!! These are the worst solicitors to use for buying and selling your property. They are unprofessional, rude, accept no responsibility when things go wrong and speak to you in a derogatory tone, like your an inconvenience for asking for an update.Poor communication with internal departments and actually bad mouth their own solicitors! Do not speak to external companies to chase enquiries, or update them. Everything is done via email, no personal touch. Dismiss your complaints and bully/threaten you when you question things.Increase fees which they don't tell you about or ask you to authorise then refuse to explain them when you receive your final bill. The list is endless!

GDPR breach and passive aggressive emails - AVOID CONNELLS AT AL COSTS
I am receiving passive aggressive emails from Connells 5 years after they made my house purchase 10x harder than it needed to be despite being told my information had been removed from their databases in line with GDPR regulations- clearly they cannot even manage that. As a first time buyer I was given a terrible deal as I unfortunately did not know any better- if you are a first time buyer, or really any buyer, AVOID CONNELLS.

I feel completely let down by Connellsβ¦
I feel completely let down by Connells Mortgage Services. I was sold a βmortgage advisor for lifeβ service and trusted that this meant I would have ongoing professional support whenever I needed it. Unfortunately, as soon as the payment was taken, all contact stopped. Since 2024 I have sent numerous emails and made many phone calls trying to reach my assigned advisor and have been completely ignored. The situation became serious when I received a letter from my bank informing me that my fixed rate was ending. I contacted the advisor immediately for help to secure a new deal, but once again I was ignored. As a result, my mortgage payments increased to almost three times what I had been paying, something that could have been avoided if the advisor had done the job I paid for. We are now in 2026 and I still have not received the service that was promised. After raising a formal complaint, customer service told me their investigation found βno fault on their side.β I find this unbelievable given two years of silence, zero advice, and the significant financial loss I have suffered because no one responded when my fixed rate ended. This feels like a clear case of mis-selling. The service was presented as long-term, reliable support, yet once they had my money I was left completely on my own at a critical time. I would strongly warn others to think very carefully before paying for any ongoing service with Connells, as my experience shows there is no guarantee you will receive what is promised. Extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and accountability.
