Awful estate agents. Briefly used them to view a house and subsequently tried to open negotiations but was ignored until being told it’s now reserved. Assumptions were clearly made about our financial stance without even asking us. No communication, important information withheld and all via email, not one phone call was made. Really poor customer service and I work in property so know how we SHOULD have been treated I would be reluctant to do any business with this agent in the future

A fantastic, friendly and professional service provided to us when we moved into our property in October. We viewed several properties in the area with different estate agencies and what stood out to us most was the care and attention provided by Swetenhams. Nathan was our main point of contact throughout the process and he made it a really easy process for us, we can’t thank him enough for his efforts! We also have an extremely friendly landlord. From our experience, this company clearly makes an effort when it comes to what type of landlords they represent. Just moved into my first rental thanks to Nathan and Hannah at Swetenhams Northwich. So grateful to them both for helping and guiding me through the whole process. I had endless questions which were all answered quickly, nothing was too much hassle. I had most of my communication with Nathan and his enthusiasm and passion for the job surpasses anyone else's I've ever met. Yes it's his job and yes it's what you'd expect but it's not always what you receive so it was a very refreshing experience to deal with someone friendly, driven to providing a good service and professional. Georgia has been so helpful during the purchase of our new home. I sold my house through Swetenhams this year and I was really disappointed with the service I received. They did market it well and find me a solid buyer but unfortunately that’s where the good part ended. I found it increasingly difficult to speak to anyone as the weeks went on. The in house conveyancers (DC Law) they recommended to my buyer were quite possibly the most incompetent people I’ve ever had the misfortune of encountering. I was sent emails from my conveyancer that showed all the errors and delays made by DC Law. I consistently raised concerns regarding this and was dismissed. I suspect they must get a ‘finders fee’ for finding clients for DC Law. I speak with additional experience here as DC Law acted for me for a sale and purchase previously, recommended by estate agents and had the exactly same issues. They then relayed the conversation (which I had presumed was confidential) of my concerns to the conveyancer and twisted my words, to the point where DC Law were sending aggressive and accusatory emails through my conveyancer. It was unprofessional at best, childish gossiping at worst. They additionally incorrectly advised my buyer of a completion date I had not agreed to, and explicitly said I could not do, which took days to resolve. They took no responsibility for this, citing an email where I had suggested “w/c 14th or 21st” two possible weeks where I could theoretically move as gospel confirmation of the 14th. Completion week finally came (despite these issues), and I received no communication despite emailing. On the day of completion, the buyers conveyancer sent the incorrect funds causing hours of delay and not once did Swetenhams contact me or make any attempt to assist with this. Considering they are on the more expensive side for estate agents, I really expected a lot better service and couldn’t honestly recommend them to anybody looking to sell. If you do inexplicably decide to go with them, just make sure nobody in your chain is using their in house conveyancers. Side note: the other conveyancer they tried to recommend me had hidden in their terms and conditions that they would charge for “excessive phone calls and emails” at a rate of £30 per phone call or email so be wary! Edit: yes unsurprisingly a complaint about this team was investigated by… this team. And this team found that they’d done nothing wrong. How shocking. You can refute what you like, this is my experience and details what happened. Edit 2: An independent review by the Obundsman found you actually upheld my complaint. Maybe consider altering your practice, rather than ignoring any legitimate concerns your clients have.

I am having the worst experience with Swetenhams as a landlord. They have shown zero concerns with the tenants welfare and with landlords concerns, tell you they will take out works for one thing but then go ahead and charge you for other irrelevant services without the initial problem being solved. Communication is terrible. Please avoid letting with them. The only thing I can recommend is Colin as a mortgage advisor who is absolutely brilliant!!
