GoogleI would like to express my sincere thanks to Murray Lettings for their outstanding service in managing my property for over 10 years. Prior to working with them, I struggled to find reliable and long-term tenants, but since engaging their services, this has never been an issue.
Murray Lettings consistently go above and beyond their responsibilities as a letting agent. Their professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care for their clients set them apart. Having experienced other agencies in Bristol, I can confidently say they are the best. They handle any issues swiftly and effectively, including tenant arrears, ensuring matters are resolved without delay.
I am truly grateful for their dedication and support, and I highly recommend Murray Lettings to any landlord seeking a trustworthy and exceptional letting agency.
Kind regards,

Googlenow I would like to give them 5 stars which I thought I would do on meeting them.....very pleasant but one of them seemed hungover and said he had been clubbing which I found to be a bit bizarre.....anyway, bearing in mind he was in his mid 50s I thought well we all have mid life crisis....so we went on with the rental. First couple of months all ok any minor snags were dealt with Half hearted ,we,ll see what we can do, which means expect it to get done in a month. In fact it was 5 weeks. Complained to big rob who was bolshy and autocratic in his demeanour. Hopefully, by this stage I was praying nothing else would go wrong. Unfortunately, it did - the boiler packed up - zilch no water no heating december 2018. Now with 3 young children, you would think cat a emergency - oh no, you have a log burner buy wood, buy as much as you need, you will be recompensed. So I did, and burnt through it at a great deal of knots at the same time I, going to work and getting a shower whilst the wife and 3 minions going to the in laws. End result - no heating and hot water. Complained and then given an eviction notice. So make your minds up.
New law will stop these clowns issuing section 21 revenge evictions like handing out pizza leaflets. Reason for mine - landlord wants to sell his property then moves someone in a week later. Well done you lying thiefs.

Dear Mr Ellis' Jones Thank you for your review, I am sorry to hear that you feel that we have provided you with a less than satisfactory service and it was interesting reading the reasons why. i would like to respond to your inaccurate belief that we evicted you for complaining, this is incorrect, and there are laws in place to prevent this, you were evicted for non payment of rent, a decision which was supported by both the county court and the subsequent judgement given to my client to reclaim the money owed to him. With regards to your boiler breaking down on Saturday 2nd December 2017, we assessed it within two hours of it breaking down and installed a brand new boiler within five days (3 working) at a very busy and challenging time of the year for all gas engineers, it was unreasonable and frankly delusional to expect a new boiler installation with 24 hours. we offered you alternative heating which you refused we kept you up to date of developments, we also offered to discuss this through our complaints procedure which you failed to engage with preferring to become abusive and aggressive. With regards to other works you requested and feel we hadn't carried out to your satisfaction you were living in a brand new house and you raised no defects and requested no works to be done until after we pursued you for failure to pay your rent on 10/02/2018 which transpired to be several minor and non existing defects bordering on the vexatious. This review is a simplistic attempt at retaliation, and frankly you have no one to blame but yourself, you failed to act in a tenant like manner, you breached your contract and you left my client no option but to evict you. I hope that this has clarified your confusion and I wish you and your new Landlord best wishes for the future.

GoogleMyself and my partner were considering using Murrays to search for a rental property in Bristol. We did get in contact with them regarding a property (unfortunately pets were not considered despite this going against government guidelines) and although the interaction was dismissive at best I won't go into that here as this is our experience with many agents. I'm not particularly devastated by this. My one star review is mainly based on the baffling public treatment of customers on this platform. For this reason alone we will have no more dealings with them
I am unsure who writes the responses to these reviews apparently sometimes a Mr Murray, so in theory the owner himself? This is probably the only explanation for this person being in any way permitted near the keyboard or customers in general. There is clearly a highly toxic culture of extreme defensiveness within their team. Regardless of whether they feel that reviews are unfair, any business must realise how unwise it is to go about refuting them in this deeply unprofessional manner. To be completely honest it is like reading a 14 year old's snide Facebook comment.
As I've said you've lost my business but for your own reputation and future success, please learn a little more about customer service and the running of a business in general before allowing whichever wildly misguided keyboard warrior access to your official account again.
Good luck

GoogleStaff don’t bother responding to email and are really rude and not compliant or helpful in any manor what so ever! Don’t bother wasting your time. The new owner of the branch spoke to me this morning with such an attitude and didn’t seem bothered to help. All I’m trying to do is rent a property but they’re so arrogant and rude they seem to think that customers think they work for us. Bunch of weirdos specially the weird owner.

Dear Mr, Singh thank you for your review. We are currently receiving hundreds of viewing requests every day, and we clearly stated within the questionnaire response that we sent you, that if you fail to answer all of the requested questions or if you give a negative answer then we would not proceed with a viewing. We cannot arrange hundreds of viewings on every property. Unfortunately you entered a negative answer to one of our questions which automatically invalidated your application, when I phoned you as a courtesy and explained that you didn’t meet our criteria, and that is why we hadn't replied, you responded that you had answered that particular question incorrectly, and i suggested that you send us a quick direct email explaining that you had answered incorrectly and we would therefore reconsider your application, at which time you reacted aggressively becoming extremely abusive and using offensive language. I subsequently ended the call. I am frankly surprised that someone who alleges to work for such a prestigious company like you do uses such foul language.

Hello, and thank you for your review. As explained within the Rightmove advert which you should have read, we ask people to use the link provided through the “Rightmove” advert and send us a notification email of your interest in the property, and we specifically ask you not to call us as we deal with a considerable number of enquiries and haven’t the time to speak with everyone. It is impossible for us to track every phone call and enquiry that we receive, therefore by using the Rightmove link option we keep a record of the enquiry and respond accordingly thereby dealing with everyone fairly, equitably and enabling us to respond to every enquiry., if you felt we were being condescending then we were simply explaining to you the process that we ask you to follow, which we wouldn’t have needed to do if you had simply read the advert correctly.

GoogleIt’s always a pleasure to use Murray’s Residential Lettings in Bristol. Murray’s are my first and only choice when it comes to letting my properties. Without exception Murray’s have provided me as a landlord with an excellent and professional service over a number of years. My tenants also sing their praises. Murray’s have always been there to find suitable tenants for me and have handled the whole letting process efficiently and quickly from advertising and finding suitable tenants to the whole credit checking and referencing processes and to checking in and out the tenants. Rob especially is always at hand to advise on the various points of legislation and he is my first source whenever I need advise. I am confident in his knowledge as Rob is always up to date on the new rules and regulations. Indeed the whole team at Murray’s Lettings are super friendly and always happy to help and give that extra mile. I can’t ask for more. They offer a fantastic service and I have no hesitation in highly recommending Rob and Murray’s Residential Lettings to any landlord and tenant.

GoogleI am an experienced landlord but needed to start handing over control of our property due to a family illness.
I was previously an IFA specialising in buy to lets in Bristol and had heard many tales of woe regarding the poor professionalism and lack of care after appointment that many agents had displayed. Many clients feeling they had been ripped off as the service they received did not represent value for money given the level of fees they were paying
I heartens me greatly to let all interested know that this is NOT the case with Murrays. Rob and his team are a straightforward honest group who have offered me good pragmatic advice and service at all times. They also have developed a group of contractors who can be trusted to do and work you may require quickly, professionally and at a reasonable cost.
Our tenants have also commented on how well and fairly they had been treated by Murrays
If like me, you value working with folk who can be trusted and really know what they are doing then go and see Rob and his team.

GoogleWe have worked with Murray's as tenants for the past 3 years, and can only say good things about their service! From the start they have been helpful, kind, and a wonderful mediator to our landlord when things needed doing. When our first rented house was put on the market for sale, they allowed us right of first refusal on all the new properties that came through their office, and worked diligently to help us find a home that suited our needs. Now that its time to move again, they have been very respectful when bringing people to view our home that we are leaving, and overall very pleasant to work with!

GoogleWe appointed Murrays as our lettings agent just over six months ago and have had a fantastic experience so far. They are always very helpful and see that maintenance issues etc. are resolved efficiently, it is reassuring to know that our tenant is being well looked after. Mark and the team have also been particularly helpful recently, going out of their way to help us resolve some complications with paperwork. We would definitely recommend their services!

GoogleMurrays have proved to be an excellent letting agency. All processes were easy and professional and the guys in the office were friendly and helpful. They seem to work extremely hard, which does mean that requests are prioritised and you may not get immediate responses for problems that are not deemed urgent. However, I think this is simply the state of the rental market and the lack of care from landlords, rather than a problem with Murrays. In return for a little bit of a hands off approach to letting, you get a property which is very good value for money and a good and fair team of letting agents.
By far the best experience I've had renting in Bristol. Would strongly recommend.

GoogleHi
I would like to leave feedback about well established estate agency based in Bristol that I have the unfortunate pleasure to deal with, for over 9 months.
On the beginning the agency was quite helpful and friendly, however later on, I have find out that the agent and landlord are constantly telling me different things in regards to any enquiries that I have had.
Now I can say that they have deceive me just to charge me unfair £50 for damage that was caused by other tenants during my holidays.
The agent was aware of that as the damage was reported as occurred.
However now after my tenancy have ended I have find out that someone have to pay, in this case me still don't understand WHY?
Why the agent / landlord too no acknowledgement of who has reported the damage and just put blame on me as it is the easiest way to do, because I am moving out.
That not it to obtain my deposit back I had to wait 2 months, I am actually still waiting. I was the only one staying in touch with the agency, as they will not reply to my call or emails, ignoring the fact that their job is not done yet, as they should assist me with getting my deposit back, or at least answer my questions.
Not only charge me £50 for damage that was not caused by me.
Thank you

Thank you your your email. Your complaint originates from the deduction that we charged you of £50.00 for damaged caused to the saniflow unit within the downstairs toilet when someone in the property decided to use it as a food waste disposal unit and flushed a whole chicken carcass down the toilet causing a messy job and several hundred pounds worth of damage. As no one was willing to own up to this incident and as the lease is a jointly and severally liability this meant that unfortunately we had no option but to hold everyone party to this tenancy responsible. we asked you all several times who had created this problem with no conclusion. It would be grossly unfair to charge my client for someones irresponsible behavior. This could have been easily resolved in an adult manner if you had simply informed us who was responsible. With reference to the time taken with receiving the remainder of your deposit, we do not hold your deposit, it is held in escrow by a third party, we initiated the return to you within 10 working days of you vacating the tenancy, your failure to claim your deposit and engage with the DPS is your own fault, we explained the procedure to you and informed you that due to DPS security only you could complete the process. We are scrupulously fair and do not make deductions from deposits without reason and I therefore hope that this explains the deduction to you.

GoogleReally shocking to find an estate agent that ONLY offers properties that are not pet friendly and has a blanket ban on pets. Thank you for your review, I was sorry to read that you are unhappy with our decision not to allow you to rent one of our clients properties with a pet, as my colleague explained to you in a polite and measured manner we are not legally required to accept pets in any of our properties especially without the direct consent of our client, and frankly I am shocked that for someone who purports to work within this industry you were unaware of this, I would recommend that you undertake further training from your employer rather than acting in a petulant manner when you don’t get your own way.

Dear Isobella thank you for your review and I apologise for the late reply . I was sorry to hear that you felt we were rude to you on the phone and over the intervening time I have tried to establish our relationship but unfortunately we have absolutely no record of who you are nor have you arranged any viewings through us by phone or email. If your enquiry was a general one and we dealt with it poorly I can only apologise as I have no frame of reference to assess our response to you. I have found our Lettings team to be polite and respectful when dealing with enquiries as it would be counterproductive to be otherwise, they are also very experienced with dealing with people over the phone. If this is a genuine complaint and not a vindictive attack due to us either rejecting an application or refusing a viewing then I can only apologise and wish you well for the future. With reference to our very positive reviews, we receive these unsolicited from both tenants and landlords which I believe speaks highly of the service that we provide.
If you wish to speak with me directly and provide some framework to your complaint I will be more than happy to speak with you.
Yours sincerely

GoogleLooks like there's been minimal preparation for the change of laws that came into force on June 1st. They now gather applications and submit them en masse to the landlord so they can choose their favourite. This leaves the process wide open to discriminatory behaviour, slows everything down, and leads to alot of disappointment. Would not recommend.

Thank you for your review. Our review process is not based on favoritism that would quickly become self defeating, it is fundamentally a process of arranging a tenancy that works for both parties using empirical evidence. We provide all our applicants a simple questionnaire prior to starting the full referencing checks to ensure that they meet the minimum requirement of the referencing company, it would be a waste of everyone's time to proceed with an application in the full knowledge that it would fail and unfortunately your applications wasn't suitable. It is too easy with social media to judge us harshly and unfavorably when you have not achieved your objective and it would be remiss of us to burden you with a liability you couldn't service and unprofessional to ignore my clients instructions. We wish you every success with your search.

Things very rarely went wrong in the flat but when they did Murrays were extremely quick to resolve and made me feel very welcome to call about any matters. Always professional and always friendly. I found them very reasonable and easy to approach. I highly recommend them and often sing their praises when conversations turn to rental.
