Excellent experience with Hunters

We had an excellent experience with Hunters from start to finish. Richard, Brenda and Adam were fantastic throughout the entire process - always responsive, easy to contact, and happy to help with any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly with no issues at all, and their professionalism and communication made a potentially stressful process much easier. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

Rude, poor service - a must avoid for renters

Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

When i sold my house, hunters screwed up the first sale through lack of basic diligence. I eventually sold my house but I found George was always on holiday which made things extra stressful. I wouldn't bother going with or recommending hunters .... they also charged me a fortune for the poor amount of work they claimed to have done. As agents, they failed miserably. I note from the comments, they are not willing to accept liability or recognise their incompetence. Poor at best.

Hi Tracy, I remember the first sale, and as you were aware their was an issue with the deposit, this was explained in some detail. We had then agreed to relist the property, in which we found a first time buyer who moved quickly. Your sale completed nearly 4 months ago, and this is the first I’ve heard about any of this since my first visit to the property 2 years ago, in which I advised you what work to conduct on the property to make it more saleable, which you then did and we achieved a good price to a good buyer. I’m disappointed you have made us aware of your grievances now, when you completed you seemed to be pleased. It would’ve been good to know about this then, perhaps we could’ve discussed it in more detail. Thank you, George

George @ Hunters Bedminster and the team did a fantastic job in selling mums property in the chessels it was placed on the market and within the week we had 16 viewings booked and offer accepted, from the moment George came to do his valuation we knew he was the right guy for the job he was friendly , professional and kept us updated all the way. I would definitely recommend George and all the team at Hunters Bedminster.

Excellant service

Moving can be hectic, but Dulcie made it so simple with her support, prompt communication, and quick responses from the first viewing in Cullompton right through to the day I collected the keys. She was professional, reassuring, and always ready to help.

Awful customer service

I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

illegal procedures - 1 bed property Sparks Close (Terrible Agent & Terrible Landlord)

1 bed property Sparks Close, Dagenham, RM8 - Landlord and hunters agent where complicit in illegal procedures regarding discrimination. We went through all the paper work and wasted 2 weeks till they call me and tell me the Landlord dont want a baby in the property. Don't trust them slow untrust worthy. And definitely dont rent the sparks close 1 bed property, Landlord seems like a handful save your self

My experience selling a property in the…

My experience selling a property in the UK with this agent was extremely frustrating. For over four months, they delayed the transaction. Despite my constant follow-ups, they kept giving me excuse after excuse, like mortgage problems or minor issues, saying it would happen next week. Eventually, I told them I would pull out and sell to another buyer, but Matthew insisted I still had to pay. I also want to warn people about this company, be very cautious, because in the contract, they include terms that are unfavorable to the client. Once you sign, they do very little to follow up, and you can’t even be sure if the buyer will complete the deal. Their main priority is just getting you to sign, and regardless of whether the sale happens, they still take your money. And when I tried to back out, Matthew actually threatened me, saying that if I didn’t pay, they would escalate it to other departments. I feel this is a form of intimidation.”

George (and his team) was brilliant; he gave really clear and sensible advice, took lovely photos, worked really quickly to get the house online and then guided us through the process. We had an incredibly short timescale to complete and George was really on it making sure all parties were keeping to their tasks. Would definitely recommend.

Robot refused to give me a viewing

Awful experience trying to arrange a viewing. Spent yonks on the phone with a robot. It asked me unnecessary questions and misheard things; then had to reconfirm everything. Eventually it was happy. I hung up and it started again this time by text. In the end it refused to let me have a viewing unless I told them my spending budget - which I wasn't prepared to do. Do not sell your property through these idiots.

Disappointed

Disappointed, we learned our house purchase had fallen through at the point of us being ready to exchange on our property. We found out that the office had known about it and left it to the agent, who had been looking after us, to tell us after she came back from annual leave! We never got a reason for the purchase to fall through and they even tried delaying us putting an offer in on another property. Luckily this was with another agent and we trusted our gut as the trust with Hunters had gone. 7 weeks later we were in our new home. Felt let down and disappointed with Hunters. This was our first and last time dealing with them.

"Avoid Hunters Property Management

"Avoid Hunters Property Management, Inefficient, Rude, and Unprofessional"My experience with Hunters Property Management has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. They have consistently demonstrated poor service, inefficiency, and a dismissive attitude towards tenant concerns.Ineffective Issue Resolution: Hunters fails to handle even basic maintenance issues. For example, a heating issue during winter was passed to the landlord without any attempt to troubleshoot. I had to step in and take personal risks to resolve the problem myself, only to discover it was a simple battery replacement. Their inability to perform even basic triage highlights their lack of professionalism and problem-solving capabilities.Creating Gaps Between Tenants and Landlords: Instead of acting as a competent mediator, Hunters merely relays messages between tenants and landlords, causing delays and unnecessary misunderstandings. This approach has damaged the relationship between myself and the landlord, as the agency often fails to communicate effectively or accurately.Rude and Dismissive Behavior: The staff frequently respond to concerns with a dismissive tone, making tenants feel unsupported and undervalued. Their arrogant demeanor gives the impression that addressing tenant concerns is a favor rather than their responsibility.Neglecting Tenant Safety and Comfort: Health and safety issues, such as rat infestations and malfunctioning alarms, were not addressed promptly, despite the serious risks they posed. The lack of urgency in handling these matters has caused significant stress and discomfort for my family.Minimal Value Added: Hunters operates more like a messenger than a property management service. They fail to provide meaningful solutions and seem content to pass the burden of responsibility onto others, leaving tenants to fend for themselves.Overall, Hunters Property Management has proven to be unprofessional, inefficient, and dismissive. Both tenants and landlords deserve better. I strongly advise against using their services if you value timely resolutions, respect, and effective communication.

If shady marketing had a perfect example that would be Hunters' brokering house I bought. The agents did not even do the basic job of removing a pile of rubbish and rubble that the seller left. When I challenged it, they acted too cool and said it's not the seller's responsibility to sell the house in the condition it was marketed. So that's the deal you get with these people. After a lot of pushback they agreed to sort it with the seller and showed pictures and video calls where the rubbish was hidden. They were so desperate for the completion and misled me to believe that the removals were done properly. In fact even after moving in I called them up to sort it, and funnily enough they acted as if some bizarre event could have happened that the rubbish came out of nowhere, as if an unknown 3rd party could have dropped and they hadn't even noticed it. The head of the branch promised me he'd come back but (un)surprisingly, not a word after. I sincerely do not recommend them to a buyer. Save yourselves a headache.

Gayathri · 17 April 2025

Agent replied · 23 October 2024

Hi Gayathri, As we discussed when you raised this issue, it is not our job as agents to ensure the house is cleared (even though the sellers had done), as per your solicitors contract houses are offered with 'vacant possession' which your purchase was. I do recall us having a video call at the property and you confirming that you we're happy with the condition it was in, you then proceeded to authorise the exchange of contracts. If there were items there that you weren't aware of on exchange, completion or from our video call and completion had taken place, as mentioned to you on more than one occasion you should of raised it with your lawyer so they could ask the sellers lawyer to refund you for the clearance. To date we have had no correspondence from you with regard any additional clearance. Ultimately it is you buying the property, and it is our job to ensure buyers and sellers are updated with what each other are doing, if there are discrepancies within the contract or completion it is for you to raise with your solicitor, and we can assist where we can, but to my knowledge you did none of these things even after me advising you too. If I still can help in someway I will, but the ball was in your court. Thank you, George

lettings fees are very high

For lettings their fees are very expensive. First 3 months of my 450 rent studio flat they took and I did not get anything. When tenant leaves another month will be gone as inventory check is 180 and cleaning in 250 and this is for a studio flat. If i want to cancel the contract i have to pay 900. Stay away.

We have recently completed a sale of a flat through Hunters Bedminster and couldn't recommend them highly enough. They valued our flat at a price we felt was right and it was photographed and online quickly, with a sale agreed in less than a week. We ended up with quite a complicated/frustrating sale for completely separate reasons, during which George and the team were absolutely brilliant, very prompt responses on every question or query either ourselves or our buyer had. Thank you very much for all your hard work George and team, very much appreciated!

Friendly and professional service from the start. We had multiple agents round to value our house, but George from Hunters seemed to be the only one who hadn't already decided what the property was worth before stepping through the front door. A lot of work had been done to the house which George had a genuine understanding of. He has a great knowledge of the local market and his valuation was bang on. Throughout the whole process George and Matt kept us updated and well informed as to how things were progressing which considering the lockdown circumstances, was much appreciated! We have recommended Hunters to many of our friends, one of which has now sold through them also. Great service, brilliant communication and very personable. Would recommend time and time again to anyone selling in South Bristol.

I have only great things to say about Hunters Middleton!

I have only great things to say about Hunters Middleton branch! From the very first phone call right up to exchanging contacts They have been beyond brilliant. I absolutely loved the pictures of my house and the write up most definitely did my house justice. My house sold within 4 days and I was over the moon with the price!Nicole was the shining star for me- she kept in daily contact and was the most reassuring and helpful person every single step of the process. She chased up people when they needed it ensuring the sale moved along at pace. Thank you so much Hunters but especially a massive thank you to Nicole- you have been amazingly!

Disappointed is an understatement..

To say we’re disappointed with the level of communication from the Horncastle Branch with Michael and Susan Noonan is an understatement and the level of service is a far cry from Michael's commitment to customer experience.Researching this branch shows multi-occasions that this activity has happened here.If you’re viewing a property with the intent to buy, don’t expect them to tell you if any other parties are interested. They’ll just pull it from under your feet along with any visions or excitement of a future you had in said house.Viewed a property two weeks ago, following the viewing we had a really positive conversation with Susan in the office expressing great interest, no more than a week later sold to another buyer with no communication. It would have been professional and courteous to reach out to the buyer but more so to the seller, as I’m certain they would like to have known of other interest. Susan and Michael took away any opportunity or chance to put in any offers, resulting in many wasted hours.I wouldn’t usually leave a review; but the tone in which Susan delivered the news was blunt, lacked any sort of empathy and very closed, to date I am still waiting for a reply to my email which I can only assume has been ignored. We will steer clear of this company for future sales and purchases, knowing that their priority doesn’t appear to be with either buyer or seller.Happy to receive a call or email to discuss our experience with you.

Hunters are not interested

Hunters let the house adjacent to ours. There have been multiple pipe leaks around the bathroom causing flooding which in turn is causing damp smells on our side due to the length of time taken to address the issues. It's been repaired after four weeks now within hours water is currently coming through the ceiling next door soaking our party wall and they have told the tennant it's livable no problem.
