The worst agency that i could choose. They charged me 150 pounds for an ALREADY broken window, and 80 pounds for not having the (broken)toaster and 3 pictures at the place that i found them(they were at a shelf). They also harged me for a couple of chairs that were already defective when i came.(+50 pounds). Stay away if you want your deposit back.

Dear Dimitris, It is always best to make amendments to the inventory within the 7 day time frame, as we advised at the time. No deductions were made for a broken window as this was noted on the inventory at the beginning of the tenancy. We are sorry to hear that your experience with us was unsatisfactory. All the best Young Lee team

Honestly not one negative word could I think of with this agent, friendly, polite, family values, they literally say and do what it says on the tin! cannot recommend enough for anyone wanting to rent a property or let a property! 10/10 :)

Avoid at all costs if you want your deposit back! They increase the rent price each year plus they claimed that I didn't get the apartment cleaned professionally even tho I did totally not recommended and the property the have are in the worst state not worth the price I forgot to mention that they arranged a viewing to my apartment without my permission! And they have no problem booking you for viewing while the apartment is in a total mess

For several years I was a client (tenant) with Young Lee and have always found them to be professional, responsive and helpful. It was pleasure doing business with them and accordingly I am most pleased to recommend this company. I would particularly like to heap praise upon Nick Smith and also Susan Biddulph for their help & support across the years that I was with Young Lee. Many thanks.PositiveProfessionalism

I have been letting my property through Young Lee for some years now. They could not have been more helpful and accommodating to me and my tenants. I feel confident to leave the care of my property in their hands.and thoroughly recommend them.

Even by the generally low standards of letting agents these were pretty shoddy on many levels. We paid our rent in advance for the 1 year we rented, and an expensive house at £2100 per month, so they had almost nothing to do for their fees. All the issues emerged when we were asked to vacate and asked to show numerous prospective purchasers around the house 4 months before the end of the tenancy with these agents washing their hands as they were not part of the selling process. And of course one is left with the continual feeling that they are doing you a favour by allowing you to rent. A little power is a dangerous thing. I would have scored less if it had been out of 10, but 1 out of 5 seemed a little extreme.

Very rude on phone staff, organised a booking 30 minutes after a property was listed, when I called up to confirm the booking, the same member of their team answered the call and said the booking was not put through. The member of staff said that bookings sent in after my call had been prioritised with no explanation. The call ended when the person on the phone said they had another call so had to hang up, terrible service.

Awful place. Arranged a viewing first thing this morning. Woke my baby up to take her to the viewing & they cancelled 20 mins before, saying somebody had put down the holding deposit. However this person obviously hadn't even seen the place, because I'd arranged to view it first thing, after it had just gone on the market. Very unfair & not standard practise amongst other agents. Sorry Young Lee but, on principle, you will never get a penny from me ££!

Exploitative AND incompetent. A few of the issues we had: Young Lee insisted that it was necessary for a guarantor to travel across the country to sign a form; after a lot of hassle, it was established that actually, this wasn't obligatory at all and he could just post the form. They then made him guarantor of ALL the tenants in the flat (rather than just one) without communicating this beforehand, so all us tenants had to then draw up our own contract with him separately. The rent was increased for a six month tenancy in a damp flat that had not been renovated in years, and this was not communicated to new/prospective tenants in good time. Young Lee charged extortionate 'admin' fees, whilst taking down my contact details in pencil on a piece of scrap paper (!) but repeatedly failed to send emails to my correct address, even after I'd reiterated what it was on the phone. When myself and another tenant had moved in originally, the existing tenants had paid £25 for a 'tenant swap' fee, but when the agency offered to renew the tenancy for another 6 months, this now suddenly increased to £100! When I questioned it, they could not explain this arbitrary increase in a tenancy renewal fee (furthermore, these sort of fees should in fact already be covered by letting and management fees charged to landlords anyway). The flat had an increasingly bad damp problem and would need serious repair work carried out, so I decided to move out rather than pay a totally unnecessary fee for the agency to essentially change some names on a contract - and only for another very short tenancy. OpenRent is a much better service in my experience.

I would avoid Young Lee like the plague. I rented a property from them a few years ago; the service and hidden charges were shocking. Young Lee is a shining example of why people dislike and don't trust estate agents. I viewed a property that was advertised as having shower, which could be seen in the flat upon viewing. However, after signing the 6 month contract I arrived at the property to find the shower had been taken out. Young Lee stated it was something to raise with the landlord. The fact they didn't mention it to me before I signed the contract left me trapped in a 6 month contract I didn't want to be in. Had I known in advance I wouldn't have signed. This dishonest and underhand action suggests they either cannot be trusted or they are incompetent. To add insult to injury, when the contract ended I put a deposit down on another property and needed a reference from Young Lee. Young Lee charged £25 for the reference and then wouldn't issue it because they hadn't done an inspection. On top of that they wouldn't come out to do an inspection, despite taking my money. This meant I was at risk of losing my deposit on the new property. Fortunately the landlady agreed to come and inspect, after some considerable persuasion, and completed the reference. Young Lee kept the £25. Looking back, I should have taken Young Lee to a small claims court for not informing me that changes had been made to the property since the viewing and before the contract signing; this ultimately resulted in me having to pay all the associated charges with having to move again. So please be aware of this info before having any dealings with Young Lee as a tenant. I wouldn't like them to cause anyone else the level of stress and anxiety they caused me.

The office staff have no coordination and are mostly lacking in experience in their roles. They had very little knowledge about the properties on their books - simple things such as the date the place becomes available to rent they didn't know or key information about the utilities provided with the property like whether there is a washing machine and dryer they were unable to convey. Take the Young Lee branding seriously, it's bright pink and purple for a reason - to illustrate the ditzy not serious and quite incompetent staff. I was only considering renting with them, but after our viewing and having now met the staff and read the negative reviews of tenants who have experienced them as their estate agents we shall be looking elsewhere. There's a lot of agencies in East Sussex and Brighton, choose a competent one

I rented a property through Young Lee for a year. The property they had was suitable for us, so they get a star for that. In my experience the office staff would expect me to go out of my way to help them, but would not go out of their way at all to help me, often citing their rules as limitations; it is reasonable to have rules, but it left me with a very poor impression compared to other letting agents I have used in five major UK cities as a young professional. A note to tenants, the independent inspectors who do the inventory did a more thorough job on our way out, than our way in. We were charged for a crack in the fridge that was there from day one of our tenancy. I felt relief when I moved out and used an excellent agent in the midlands.

I highly recommend Young Lee. I rented a property managed by these agents for 2 years, during which time any and all issues with the property were dealt with quickly, efficiently, and professionally. Having dealt with several estate agents in the past I can confidently say that Young Lee have been the best yet!
