I am a Landlord with various properties in the Brighton & Hove area. The service I receive every time at Martin & Co Brighton is faultless- they are always helpful and extremely responsive. Molly is especially always very helpful going above and beyond to make things easy for myself! Definitely recommend Martin & co Brighton :-)

This team helped me move into a new place just before lockdown and Martin and Gina were very helpful during this process! Once all moved in, the after care was fantastic with Emma supporting us too. Would recommend this team to both landlords and tenants! 5*

Martin & Co. Brighton have managed our property interests in the area for over 15 years. They have been kind, considerate and, above all, dedicated to our situation as a landlord throughout. They have worked out every little situation, liaised with us over every matter whether large or small... and I have had no lack of confidence throughout all this time that they have acted in our best interests. Special mention must go to Emma who has spent long hours in liason and assisting with matters at the property, and she gone above and beyond for us at ever turn, especially whilst we made the hard decision to leave our property and return it to sale. She and her colleague Martin have given us the most reliable, consistent and communicative experience. They definitely "know their sh*t", and I have trusted their judgement and knowledge throughout.

I am very pleased with the services I have received from Martin & Co when renting out my property. They have been extremely professional at all times, their fees were competitive and they found excellent tenants. I highly recommend!

Both Jamie and Martin are excellent in helping to make the completion of our purchase of a property in Brighton achievable despite of obstacles along the path especially dealing with bureaucracy. They are friendly and nice people to talk to and always replied very promptly. I thoroughly recommend them πŸ‘Œ πŸ‘ πŸ‘ …

What an unprofessional estate agents do not use. They left my property open and unlocked with all the lights on whilst showing possible tenants around. When I expressed my concern they accused me of lying !! When I told them I would no longer use them to let my property the manger Martin sent me a vile email And hounded me. What a little passive aggressive man please be warned guys !!!

I've just moved into my new property that Martin & Co have been able to set me up with. No fault of their own I'll be living on the top floor of a 6 floor flat. The lift was meant to be fixed but is managed by the council. Now to say I was annoyed that on my moving day this still hasn't been fixed would of been putting it mildly. Joe Beer very kindly volunteerly gave up most of his morning/ afternoon to help me move my stuff. Never in my 10+ years has a letting agency ever done this despite there being nothing they could do from their end. I'm moved in now and had to get a little extra hired help but it could of been a lot worse without his help. Jarrod Palmer also was very friendly and helpful with communicating with my new landlord and I'm sure everything will be resolved very soon. Can't leave out Molly Wickson either for assisting with my processing of my application as it went smoothly and I was kept informed every step of the way as I should of been. Very hard to find good letting agents these days but I wouldn't be put off using Martin & Co Brighton and Hove. Thanks guys!

I would highly recommend NOT to use Martin and Co if you are looking for a place to rent. My boyfriend, a friend and I were looking for a flat, we visited one with them which we liked so we started the all process with them. During the visit we explained briefly our financial situation, and we explained that we all had guarantors, the agent was really reassuring concerning our situation, as long as we had guarantors. Before having anything signed, we had to paid 250 pounds EACH! 750 pounds for the three of us, for obscure fees like referencing fees, inventory fees, guarantor referencing fees...(and we had to negotiate for not paying twice the fees for the same guarantors as my boyfriend and I both had his parents as guarantor). We did paid that HUGE amount of money to do the referencing which was done by another company online. After a week of filling online documents (constantly having to get in touch with the company because of bugs in their website) We had a call from Martin and co saying that we fail getting through due to our financial situation. Fair enough, it was quite a surprise but let's move on. We asked them about our money and surprise 'none of your money is refundable'! They basically robbed us from 750 pounds, for what service? Everything they did was having a casual conversation on the phone about our situation and taking our money. Not once in the whole referencing process we had a real person in front of us, just a website interface. I would have understood that they kept 50 pounds each just for the fact they hold the house for us, but that amount of money is disgraceful. Of course we tried to get our money back, but they argued that we lied about our situation, and then they completely stopped answering our mail. We never received any justification of the reasons why we didn't get the house, not even a letter. I guess we were really naive trusting the agent with our money but never again. So DO NOT EVER pay them any money until you signed you let agreement.

Landlords BEWARE - if you are using this company, check the file now, to see what else is missing. I ended up with Martin & Co by default, as they bought out the agent I was using when he retired. It appears that the owners of the franchise I have been dealing with since then sold the franchise on sometime in 2014 and I have since been dealing with the new owners. Apart from a letter in Feb 2015 to advise me there was a new Branch Manager, there was no other correspondence and I had no idea the company had changed hands. Recently, for the first time, there was a serious problem at my property (the boiler broke). Martin & Co not only did not help, they made the whole situation much worse by not communicating with me or my tenant (we didn't have each other's contact details). I was so disgusted with their service, I decided to move agents, at which point I now discover half the file is missing, including the inventory - which I was charged for. Due to the subsequent lengthy delay in getting the boiler fixed, my tenants have now decided to move out. With no inventory to prove the condition of the property when my tenants moved in, this leaves us both in a very vulnerable position. The current owners of Martin & Co Brighton's attitude was to shrug their shoulders and say it's not their fault, it's the fault of the previous owners of the franchise.

I have been with several estate and letting agents in the past for both letting my properties out and selling/buying new stock. I have to say Martin and Co are a league above any other agent I have used in the past. I have dealt with Martin in the Hove office who is the most friendly and genuine estate agent I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, he could not have done more to help us. He ensured I had the best tenants possible and the whole process couldn't have been smoother. On the odd occasion I have been into the office I have felt all the staff were very friendly and welcoming (also making me a cup of tea!) and there is a great positive atmosphere in there. I would truly recommend Martin and Co for both letting out and selling/buying property.

Avoid Martin and Co at all costs. Incompetent, lazy, and negligent. Lost inventory, delayed responses. Disregard for clients' best interests. Their emails read like they were written by toddlers. Not worth your time or trust.

We were accused us of lying when we complained about ongoing boiler issues which were never resolved. We were also sent emails threatening us with eviction, because we hadn't paid the rent, when, in fact we had, but their accounts department had misplaced the money. When we vacated, we left the property spotlessly clean. We were charged Β£260 for cleaning, when we were told it was very dirty.
