TrustpilotIf I could put zero stars I would
If I could put zero stars I would. Moved in during coldest week in January 2025 heating did not work, was a week before it was fixed and I have 3 children. Contractors were painting the property the day I was moving in which through no fault of my own ended up with scuffs and fingerprints on walls and window sills due to wet paint. Downstairs toilet unusable for whole year due to rubble in the pipe from the builders. Have now moved out and being charged over £2000 for the whole house being repainted. Constantly emailing and calling but no contact back.

TrustpilotAllsop Residential Auction Team
I dealt with Zoe, Hugo and Jeni in the Residential Auction Team, and their service was excellent.
I moved from an initial telcon with Zoe at 9:30am to bidding on a property in the early afternoon.
Amongst the team, they got me signed up and approved to enter the auction - in an impressively swift amount of time.
Informative, helpful, swift to respond - thank you!

TrustpilotLovely lady on the phone
I spoke to Alicia in the maintenance department and she couldn't have been more helpful, I was calling about a larger business issue not related to property repair but she offered to help, was very understanding and said to call back if I got no joy and she would ask around for me. I'm not a tenant but this lady went above and beyond.

TrustpilotAvoid
We moved into one of their Ockley park new build properties in between sale and purchase. As working professionals ourselves, we expected a corportate landlord to provide a good service. We received no information about the unusual heating system. The lack of information on heating system has resulted in high bills for us. No check in. We have been left so far c. 4 weeks with no heating. Our little boy has been ill as a result. We were given 3 expensive to run radiators without a solution or anyone willing to attend to the property. No one calls you back. No one replies to your emails. We have had one call back in the last week. DONT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!

TrustpilotPotential new tenant experience
I enquired about renting an apartment on a newly built estate. When I arrived to view the property it was actually a coach house with a balcony. After consideration I decided to accept the tenancy, but was told the property I viewed was different. There were 2 on offer without a balcony, but larger, for the same rent. I had the choice of two house numbers. I chose my favourite number then was told it wasn’t ready so I had to have the other number. Again I said okay. I went through all the checks and paid the holding fee. I didn’t hear anything until the middle of the month, meaning I would be paying double rent. Then I received an email telling me that monthly rental was more because the property had a garden. I actually travelled over to look for myself, the property was finished, it was a coach house with a staircase directly in front of the main living room window. So the apartment I’d been offered had morphed into a 2 bed house with a garden. I became suspicious and pulled out of the agreement, I asked for my holding fee back, It took a little while but it was eventually returned.

TrustpilotSale of house in Croydon
We needed some help with the sale of my late father-in-law's estate, the property was not suitable for sale through conventional process due to the condition of the house and the land itself. Previous efforts had resulted in cash offers coming to us way below value along with phone calls from the usual "property investors" whose blood ran colder than ice.
I submitted the detail to Allsop and was pleased to get a call from David Evans not even 2 hours after to discuss. The property was reviewed and listed within the week and up for auction by the end of that calendar month. David was great talking me through everything and updating me as time went on, his advice was really valuable.
Auction result ended up about £90,000 higher than we had been hoping for so a really great result for everyone involved.
Highly recommend

TrustpilotVery disapointing communication
They are listing properties for renters in our area, do not answer any of the phone numbers listed within adverts, addresses for their business dont exsist when go to visit a human, emails if replied to took months, to be honest as a first time renter i hope this isnt the type of service we are to expect elsewhere, but looking at the reviews here, this company is one to stay clear of, thank you all for your reviews.

TrustpilotBe very cautious as they require a…
Be very cautious as they require a current landlord reference which most won't give until you have given notice. After going through the very annoying home check portal they use they said we need landlord reference now, I explained to do that I have to give notice and potentially make myself homeless as they will not tell you if the application is accepted subject to landlord review. We know our reference will be good but unless we know that the application has been agreed with just this to happen then who in thier right mind is going to take a risk on being homeless because these people won't tell you important information. It's a ridiculous process and will I imagine cause many people to not bother.
Update - whatever the agent who shows you around tells you probably isn't true. We were told that the rent includes all utility bills, the houses don't use gas so just electric, however further down the line as we were about to sign up after the ridiculous vetting process was battled we were told "oh no it's only certain properties that include bills" guess what the one we viewed apparently didn't include bills despite the agent telling up on viewing that it did. But its OK because if you want the same house (just called something different) then you have that for an extra £360 a month but no bills 😂
They also told us the Company want people in within 6 weeks even if you have to give a month's notice on your current property and the bit about "a, weeks rent as deposit" you guessed it that's only on "certain properties" but you have to guess which ones as the website won't tell you. Also they don't call you back if you leave messages for them and everytime you call you are in a, queue for 5 minutes.
All in all a really bad experience and people need to be warned that despite and all singing all dancing offer the reality when you get into it is VERY different.
Safe to say I have cancelled my application. They basically want £2400 a month minimum for the "zero bills" option or £1900 if you pay your bills, now I don't anyone who uses £500 a month on electric, especially in a "environmental" new home.
Be careful all is not what it seems

I sold a commercial property in June 2024. The person who was involved from start to finish Ben Kenerick. Ben was a very reliable and helpful person. He dealt efficiently with my solicitor in advising on the legal pack contents. I was very happy with the service he provided throughout. I would definitely use Ben in any similar transaction.

TrustpilotMost incompetent group of people
Most incompetent group of property managers and lettings coordinators. They take weeks, if not months to respond to emails and clearly do not speak to each other as they give conflicting information. It takes at least 2 months for them to send over documents and agreements and they are often on holiday. It’s extremely frustrating dealing with them and i cannot reiterate how much you should avoid this group. Glad to no longer have to deal with them again.

FacebookAllsop has caused nothing but trouble for us since their company has been in charge of our property.
Picture this! we receive a Section 21 Eviction notice stating that we had 2 months to vacate the property. When I called them to ask for a reason they said it was due to Salford City Council bringing in a new ‘overcrowding’ tax and that the company or the landlord did not intend on paying it. I assured the agent that we had signed an amended tenancy agreement including the addendum that the third tenant no longer resided at the property and was assured that it was their mistake and that the section 21 could be cancelled on their end - this was the outcome of the call. Two weeks later we got an email asking when we would be estimated to be out of the property. We called and asked them why the section 21 had not been removed to which the agent replied “I forgot to speak to my boss, If you want to stay this will be subject to a rent increase”. I emailed later on that evening to ask why there hadn’t been adequate notice for the rent increase and why this was not mentioned in the initial eviction call and was told that they don’t need to give me notice. During the two weeks we had remaining in the property the other tenant and myself tried to get hold of Cleveland Mottley who we were told was our housing agent, we then were both told within the space of 24 hours that two different agents were in charge of our case. We have now vacated the property from the 16th of May and we have had no reply from the company for any help or advice on what to do next? Myself and the other tenant have been left with no other option than to move away during our higher education as we are left in a bad financial situation due to this company’s error. And this isn’t even the half of it!! Absolutely disgusting the way we have been treated. Do not rent with Allsop!

Absolutely shocked and disgusted at the level of dishonesty in my dealing with Alsop’s. Used legal loopholes to try extort more money after a sale had been agreed. Was also encouraged to put pressure on my solicitor for even faster completion (less than one week) so of course this was at a substantial cost to myself. Authorised them to sign on my behalf not once but two times (once with amended completion) only to phone him the following day to be told by Henry Chamberlyne to either increase the purchase price by X amount or face all the solicitor costs for no reason. I believe he took advantage at my young age and this being my first property investment. Was rather smug when I pointed out the dishonesty of this and quipped we didn’t sign the contract so there is nothing you can do legally. He then advised me to bid on it at auction where they used my agreed purchase price as the reserve price. Also pointed out my solicitor costs would be for nothing so I should just give extra money. Solictor costs were in excess of £1000 but luckily the solicitor took pity on the situation and charged £900 inclusive of VAT. Completely disgusted with the actions of Henry Chamberlyne of alsop’s and I can understand how this may seem far fetched for such a reputable company however I have attached the screenshots below and have many more if anybody wants to see. I advise you to avoid any property on alsop’s represented by Henry Chamberlyne.

Honestly could not have a more crappy experience and lost a ton of money. Advertised a property as having a certain income but it was completely false. They said property was ready to have a HMO license applied for but I had to spend tons on renovation. If you do not want to lose your money please stay away because they cannot be trusted in what they say.

Avoid at all cost!!! They overcharge for rent, don’t answer when needing to contact them. The houses inside have cracks on the walls, ceilings and skirting boards, and have holes. If you want to spend your whole wage check on a house to live go ahead.
