GoogleBEWARE OF RENTING HAMILTON COURT, BRIGHTON MARINA VILLAGE! After moving in on the Friday evening (29th January 2021) in the top floor apartment of Hamilton Court, located in Brighton Marina Village, it quickly became apparent we had an infestation of Silverfish insects. These insects were present throughout the property, living room, bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen (See attached photos). Upon bringing this to Mark's attention (Owner of H20 homes) his initial response was that there was nothing they could do other than get an insect spray from Asda! However, after our insistence they got a professional pest control company involved. After speaking to a pest control expert they confirmed that any treatment would only last 2-3 weeks. This was because, as we were on the top floor, he believed the whole building complex was affected and the problem would remain. The property was uninhabitable and we spent most of our time in a separate hotel. We asked for a refund and to be released from the contract. Mark eventually agreed to release us from the contract but would not refund the rent for this period, despite us staying in a hotel and having to incur the additional expense and inconvenience of moving out again. He even charged us for a extra day rent which he steadfastly refused to accept when we tried to point out this error! During the whole process Mark behaved in an extremely unprofessional manner, trying to insinuate we were lying and exaggerating. He exhibited child like behaviour if we dared to challenge him, throwing his arms in the air and saying, "He was doing us a favour!" In addition, when we said if nothing was done we would refuse to pay any more rent because it was uninhabitable, he said "Do you think that bothers me?" This is someone who is supposed to be working on behalf his landlords! In addition, his other business partner (Linda-we believe) wished to dismiss the professional opinion of the pest control expert by implying it was not a problem as it was only a few insects. If you do any research on these particular pests, they are most active at night and if you see one out in the open there is usually a thousand more in the dark, damp recesses of the property. They also multiply at an alarming rate. We would advise anyone wishing to rent property within this development to ensure there is an additional clause in your rental agreement which allows for a 'get out' clause if any infestation is present and has not been resolved. We would be happy to remove this review once we have received a full refund and have been compensated for the additional expense we had to incur.NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleI was moving to Brighton from London and looking at various places when I stumbled across H2O Homes. They were able to show me several places including the one I decided to call home for the next 14 months. Across three countries I have lived in and about 7 different rental agents over the last 10 years and Mark (and Linda) have been by far the best to deal with. Nothing is too much trouble and they will go out of their way to help. I had a shower screen shatter on me and Mark came down to help clean up the bathrooms and bedrooms. They seem to just want to do their best for both their tenants and their owners. If I am in a position in a couple of years to rent out the place that I am buying I would not hesitate to use H2O Homes. Thank you both :-)

GoogleFlat above mine, managed by them, had a water leak devastating my bathroom. Tenant asked them to speak to me and the man couldn't be bothered and almost ran out of the block. All the more shocking as the leak was reported days earlier and I spent Sunday without electricity as the circuit had tripped and needed to dry out. Presumably they are just going to hit the landlord or their insurance and hide. Pretty shocking performance and if I were a landlord I'd think twice about these people.

GoogleAbsolutely impressed with the way Linda and Mark at H2O handled my property sale. From viewings to offers and throughout the sale process their experience in waterside property shone through. They were ever ready to offer good advice, practical help and a cup of tea when needed. Their down to earth, friendly approach helped turn what could have been a stressful experience into a well-managed process.
