Feeling sorry for vendors hoping to sell their property

Mid of August I telephoned Hunters Sunderland to view a property, giving them all requested details - a little while later they sent an email asking which property I meant (I had told them but if they wanted to clarify: why didn't they ask this when I phoned?).

Awful. Incredibly disorganised. Would establish inspections and never turn up, would constantly email about overdue rent that wasn't overdue. Would pass the blame constantly. Attempted to raise my rent by a "reasonable" £200 a month six months into my tenancy which can only happen every 12 months and cannot be more than the CPI price index; they failed on both counts. Renting is honestly awful, and these clowns pray upon the anxiety of insecurity to get what they want.I have bought a house now, I wish all renters the luck to buy their own homes one day so we never have to deal with letting agents like these ever again.

I was really impressed with the valuer's sales pitch and genuinely believed they would be the best firm to sell my home. The fact they had a relationship with Ryan property law also played a part, although that turned out to be a disaster, but that's a review for another day.

Sales progression team lied and not very professional.

We are in the process of buying a bungalow at the moment and the sales progression team told us the vendor had been to sort the electrics and service the boiler..previous tennants had apparently got in debt so electric was cut off..Hunters lied saying this would be sorted. A second viewing 2 weeks later and a wasted 120 mile journey confirmed nothing had been sorted. When we told them we were disappointed with them we were told to leave the property.

I would completely recommend avoiding…

I would completely recommend avoiding this agency, they are slow to respond, have no information ready at hand and this has possibly been the most annoying process of purchasing a property with them. There was a lot of missing information that I was not provided and they basically only know how to respond when they need something. You will call them and they say they'll get back to you and just disappear. Avoid if possible.

Damaged our house, and we're not even their clients!

Hunters hung a "for sale" sign on our property, which was a surprise to us, since we were neither selling nor letting the property. When asked to take it down, four visible holes have been left in the wall of our home. It has been six and a half weeks, and the holes are still there. In a couple of weeks, we're going to need to escalate this to the ombudsman.

I don’t usually write reviews only If I’m disappointed or impressed about something or someone, I know Hunters for more than 3 years I have only good words about them especially Hari Patel very kind and professional . Today when I receive a call from the agents I have to say that after I end up the conversation with one lady named Meera I was upset and disappointed with her attitude with her way unprofessional and rude to talk with people u can’t not say things like ,, If your house contact gets messed up about the printers or something else is your fault not mine ,,you should sign online you safe us time even that I explain to her that I need my house contact in paper like I do it every year. Not only her tone was rude her attitude so disgusting she shouldn’t work with people if she doesn’t know how to treat someone normal way if she doesn’t know the word kind to others .. anyway I went there and I was pleased to find Two amazing agents VINNAY PATEL AND NERON VIVIAN they are such an amazing and kind so professional so helpful and good people they even apologise for that bad experience that I had with that lady I’m pleased to find out that Hunters got this tipe of people to make the team great!! Thank you guys so much for making my day better!!

Rang these "estate agents" several times in one day to view a property on Longfield Avenue in Preston Rd, HA9 which was advertised on RightMove. No one returned my calls for a viewing time despite getting through to one of them and they said they would call me in 30 minutes to view later that day. Subsequently, 3 days later, I made contact and was told that they have "trainees" and apologies for not getting back but the seller had taken the property off the market and was looking to go to auction to achieve more money. A few days later Rightmove was showing the property as "sold STC". I then emailed these "agents" as to why they had mislead, in fact it looks like they actually lied, to me. Vinnay Patel then said there was someone who viewed the property and a sale was agreed. Vinnay Patel has repeatedly said he will call me but hasn't. I've never come across such appalling estate agent behaviour, and this is another reason why these people ought to be regulated. Absolutely misleading and incorrect conduct. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! I'd give Zero stars if that was possible! Update on 22/7/2020 - they even had the cheek to reply saying "I was advised the property was to go to auction" implying this was the case from the outset. Appalling. Again, as above, avoid like the plague. PS: Isn't it interesting how many reviews have come up only in the last 2 weeks? The fact it took Hunters months to reply to my first review means they're clearly affected by the negative publicity hence all the "very recent positive reviews". Comical! Update on 24/7/2020 - they aren't giving up and now in denial given their responses. Carry on, any sensible person seeing the miraculous recent positive reviews can see what's going on. What a joke!

What a great service by Hari, Sam, Neron and Vinnay they went out of there way to show us a 2nd property 2.4 mile aways from where we met on the busiest day of his week. It almost felt like he was out personal property locator as he provided us a guided tour of school and train station as we travelled from first appointment in harrow weld to Preston road. Neron was very knowledgeable and had some great insights of harrow and surrounding areas. And the information he provided helped me to make a decision to go ahead with the property. Sam is one of the best estate agents ! Right from the start, Sam has helped us find an ideal property that matched our expectations and budget. He was courteous and friendly throughout the whole process. Most estate agents ignores their tenants after the deal but sam dealt with any issues straightaway . There was recently a leak inthe bathroom and engineers were sent within in an hour to fix it. I highly recommend Sam from hunters and truly an asset to the company. We worked with Sam from Preston Road and highly recommend their estate agent. We were originally after a 2 bed flat and were delighted that Sam was able to find us a good 3 bed property within our budget. He came out of his way to arrange late viewing in the evening and when we wanted a second time viewing, it was arranged without any hesitation. Sam gave us an outstanding customer service which we didn’t expect from an estate agent since our dealing with previous estate agents wasn’t pleasant at all. Agent Harj was full of fake promises

Agent Harj was full of fake promises. Although he was all smiles and seemed friendly, the minute we left after our viewing he didn’t return texts or calls and shyed away from any contact. After several calls to the agents I finally managed to find out myself that the property had been given to someone else, rather than them calling me to inform me I had to dig this information out of them which was frustrating. Avoid!

Bad communication

I have been trying to contact them for 4 months in regards to my flat and contract but they are absolutely appalling at responses and making things clear and helpful for those they are letting to. They have sent me in so many different directions on who to contact and have stopped responding to me within one week of me first contacting them. On top of this it took them weeks to respond and report to maintenance issues, and when they did the response I got was rude and abrupt. As well as that they issues weren't resolved fully resulting in me feeling uneasy in what was meant to be my own space. Absolutely awful service and wouldn't even consider letting/renting from them again.

I write about Hunters, Preston Road, Harrow. I am a landlord. I asked Hunters, Preston Road, Harrow to serve notice to the tenant on 10 January 2024. Hunters refused to do so and unlawfully pulled out the deposit on the 19th of January 2024. I had paid Hunters for this deposit to be insured until the end of the contract on 17March 2024. They said because they pulled out the deposit from the scheme, they were unable to serve notice to the tenant. Hunters are not responding to any of my emails asking about access to my property or how I can contact the tenant after the contract expires. The tenant is also refusing to respond to my emails. I am shocked that this can happen when you engage the services of a reputable a countrywide agent like Hunters. There has been a lot of bullying by Hunters throughout the year and they have tried to get outside parties to help them to extort a couple of thousand pounds out of me too. Changes have been made to the gas system to accommodate an extra four hob burner which has resulted in the gas certification being failed. So as to not draw attention to the gas issue, Hunters did not arrange a gas certification at both of my properties too! When I questioned them they stopped communicating for the next three months!Should you have issues with Hunter’s there is no one at head office one can reach out to. You are forced to write and write and write to the same person who is responsible for the issues!!! Does that even make sense! Questions I ask Hunter’s about my property have a come back ..they will take me to court or I should sue them! The contract expires in three days time and it is as if I have no information on my property thanks to Hunters!

Pathetic estate agency! The guy who is showing properties mixing up addresses and you end up viewing a different one. If you make an offer they show a very keen interest in person then no-one ever comes back to you. The property owners will never get to find out who made offers and they may just losing out on perfectly good tenants…!They do not even talk to each other within the office to relay interest.You get a bunch of promise, but that is all!Laura is useless!

Bought a house through Hunters Preston Road. Absolutely stellar service from beginning to end. Was not a straightforward purchase and could not have done it without Hari, Andrew, Sam, Nishi and the team. They exceeded our expectations with the effort they went through to support the sale. We were kept in constant communication throughout. They helped push through on the vendor side to minimise delays and talked us through the whole process as we were novices. I feel like Hunters really went the extra mile for us and if I ever go through the buying/selling process again I will definitely do so with them again!

Money for nothing

Make no mistake they aren't worthy of even one star! This Hunters franchise (Sea Road Sunderland) and their so called MD Chris Kelly and his team failed to carry our property inspections and investigate complaints from neighbours in relation to the neglect and horrendous decline of my property over a three year period. We as landlords put our faith in the letting agent and trust they will do a good job in managing our properties. I'm now £7k down trying to repair the property to a good standard. The failure of this company to manage the property and the tenants has left me significantly disadvantaged. Mr Kelly has not responded to my many complaints and requests for compensation and has instead left the franchise, no doubt to make another fortune charging 15% off the back of other unsuspecting landlords! Hunters are a company well known and trusted in our area but be warned, these agents are hiding behind that brand and are able to operate without scrutiny or regulation!!

If you are serious about selling your house then I recommend Hunters. I have had dealings with many agents in the past but I felt Neron Vivian was not only an agent but there when I needed solutions to get work completed to get to the sale. If you understand the markets fluctuates and that will have the biggest impact on the price you can achieve and want to work with the agent to showcase your property to achieve a sale then Hunters is definitely the place to go. I for one would use Hunters again and again. A* for customer service, respect and availability.
