Lie and rip off disabled people

Absolute con artists! Followed tenancy to the letter, followed all advice given by them and still trying to rip off a disabled man and his family. Both them and landlord broke tenancy the whole time and didn't care one bit. Left us homeless and actively still trying to con us out of our deposit despite doing exactly what they told us. Disgusting,lying company that thinks they can do what they want, break the rules and contracts and get way with it. Reported to obundsman and will be giving both them and the deposit protection scheme all our evidence including of the disrepair we were left to live in despite always paying full rent and not having any use of the garden. I was also injured due to the disrepair and both themselves and landlord refused any details regarding the landlords insurance

Misleading experience

We were about to make an offer on a property when we discovered the agent had listed it for £75,000 less than the asking price. It was advertised for £375,000 in the window. The agent told us that the details she gave us were incorrect - the price on these was £450,000, the price in the window was the correct one. We viewed the property twice and were shown around by the owners. The agent refused to consider any offer we were going to make, she said it would be too low.

We are cash buyers trying to buy a property from McCarneys in Brecon and the lady answering the phone on the weekend has to be the rudest estate agent I have ever had the misfortune to speak to. Having bought and sold 7 properties, we are not without experience but as a purchaser I have never been made to feel like a total inconvenience before. If there was another agent dealing with the development I would most certainly buy through them, it is almost enough to put me off the purchase. I cannot in good conscience recommend this estate agent and would advise those thinking of using them to sell a property to avoid at all costs.NegativeProfessionalism

Very poor communication from the first day of enquiry, was asked “can I give you a call back in a minute?” A day later still no call back. Had to constantly call over a few days. Completely unprofessional. Advertising properties as “available now” despite them not having EPC/safety certificates (She told me they had to wait at least 2.5 weeks to get someone in to do the checks, possibly even longer).. that is NOT “available now”, also keep in mind that the property has been advertised as “available now” for months despite apparently not having these certificates. Whilst we were viewing the outside of a property (it was essential as we absolutely have to move, and in 14 years of renting I have always viewed the outside of a property before proceeding with requesting internal viewings), someone in the same cottage allowed us to view the inside of the property, upon finding out that we had viewed the property, McCartneys basically black listed us from the entire estate agents and refused to let us view ANY of their properties, They made us feel like criminals when we’d done nothing wrong, we followed social distancing, and we were punished for it. We were told to find a different estate agents, the only other estate agent that covered that area do not allow any pets for all of their properties, we told McCartneys that we couldn’t use them as we have a dog, and they didn’t care at all, they still refused to let us view any of their properties, leaving us with absolutely no options or way of finding a new home for ourselves and our young children. It’s absolutely disgraceful behaviour, never will I ever recommend McCartneys, if anything I will advise people to not use them for anything at all, awful people, awful company. Generally poor performance from start to finish of the renting procedure. Little urgency, hardly any contact (We had to chase for any updates), even on the day of our actual move I got told the keys are ready to pick up. To then come in to get the keys (with a vehicle full of my stuff) to be told actually we're waiting on some last bit of paper work can you come back this AFTERNOON. On the day of the move. Not impressed.

Estate Agent that advertising prices that when offers are made turns out not to be what the vendor wants at all. It wastes your time and disappoints you when they could have been honest from the start. Estate Agents and straight talking are not things you put together. Work with them at your peril!
