Happy to answer any questions via email or phone no matter how many I had - especially Will can’t thank him enough. Made arrangements which suited me better for one part of the application and the property sign up since I wasn’t able to go to the office in Boston. GoogleWent for a viewing to a house that hasn't had anyone interested. Which was a surprise, as its a nice property. Agent states on the viewing day that no one has been interested and has been available for sometime. Me and my partner loved it and filled in the tenant application on the same day as the viewing. Got told to wait roughly two days for a response from the landowner to approve. The agent stated the owner is really nice and would mostly likely accept us. Four days have passed and turns out the owner went with a different application. Very weird as the agent said no one was interested in the property for sometime. We were ready to pay the deposit. Waiting days for that only to be let down. So.. over a four day period since our viewing, they had someone for a viewing, filled in their application and the owner accepted straight away quicker than ours when we was ready wanting it ASAP. Very unprofessional. Getting told we would most likely be accepted, to then out of a no where to be let down when other properties were available but not now. Won't be using this estate agent or recommend them either in the future.

We have looked into your review and there are a few discrepancies. The property had received prior viewings. At the time of your viewing there were no live applications on the property which the landlord wanted to proceed with. In the past, a viewer had submitted an application and then changed his mind. At the time of your application submission, the original applicant asked to be reconsidered. This situation is something of a rarity, but it can happen. Very often now, properties do received multiple applications for the landlord to consider. In this instance, we put forward both applications for the landlord to review and decide who they wanted to proceed with. The landlord wanted the weekend plus a few extra days due to a bereavement, to consider their options and review both applications.
After consideration, the landlord decided to proceed with the other application, a decision which is the right of the landlord, after all it is their property.
We are sorry for you in this situation where the landlord has chosen the other party. Please continue to look at our existing and future properties coming available. We are sure you will find something.

GoogleExcellent service. Selling my house was complicated. I was abroad. My possessions were only partially packed up. Bruce Mather Estates found buyers, but they pulled out when the mortgage rate peaked. There were a number of repairs that needed to be made. Bruce Mather Estates kept the keys for me, recommended and supervised workers for me. Then they found more buyers. I cannot recommend Bruce Mather Estates enough, as they went above and beyond what one can expect from an estate agent.

GoogleCompletely disgusted!
I rented a property for 3 years and the house was left in absolutely fine condition, it was left how it was when I rented it 3 years ago.
They have made up faults to keep my deposit! There was things that was damaged before I moved in and are now trying to charge me for this.
If you are wanting to rent a property I would definitely look to another estate agent before choosing this one and going through what I am.

At the start of your tenancy, you signed a copy of the inventory confirming you approved of the description of the condition of the property. Upon receiving your notice, we wrote to you advising you of how to leave the property in a suitable condition to help you. Unfortunately the property was not returned back in a suitable condition. The areas requiring work have been photographed and listed for your benefit. Rest assured, the areas of discrepancy will be sent to the independent adjudicator at the Deposit Protection Service for them to make an informed decision on both yours and the Landlord's Behalf. Trying to buy a property, paid for searches etc.... and Bruce Mather told the seller to put the house back on the market (at a higher price than we were paying.) The next day it was sold to someone else.
We are now out of pocket because of what feels like, dodgy, underhanded behavour of both Bruce Mather and the client.
We have 4 children, who have been very upset through the loss of the family home that we were so desperate to move into.
I will avoid any house being sold by Bruce Mather!!!
*** In response, no deadlines were given to us. My husband NEVER said that putting the house on the market was fine. Having spoken to you the previous friday before you sold it on the Wednesday, you said the sale would be fine due to the current circumstances (global pandemic.) You put it on the market on Tuesday because you were unable to contact me. That was the only day I hadn't been able to answer the phone and had always spoken to you previously. The one day I hadn't answered you never even attempted to contact my husband even though you did have his number. After being told on the wednesday morning that everything was ok and the house would be taken back off the market, we had a call the same day saying that you sold it to someone else. Other estate agents that we have spoken with have been shocked by the behaviour and baffled as to why Bruce Mather would encourage this.NegativeProfessionalism

Such documents were being chased by ourselves and two other organisations to help move the transaction forward for you and our client. Deadline after deadline put forward to our client were missed and after almost four months of putting the property aside for you, with no hope on the horizon, our client instructed us to re-market. Bruce Mather Boston are in a league of their own. From start to finish, they were proactive, and got our house sold within a matter of weeks, we had 4-5 viewings over one day resulting with 3 offers on the table. Unfortunately our sale fell through as the buyer pulled out (On a Thursday evening) but by Monday following we had two more offers at the asking price and above.
