We’re sorry you feel disappointed, but we believe it’s important to clarify the timeline and circumstances. 19th March: Your application was accepted and we requested the holding deposit. 26th March: The holding deposit was received and the form signed, despite your request to move in urgently. 28th March: References were successfully completed. 30th, 31st March: We contacted you to arrange a move-in and a handover was agreed for 1st April at your request. 1st April: You did not attend the handover, did not pay rent/deposit and did not respond to calls or emails. 2nd April: You later advised you were unavailable and requested a new date. The landlord reasonably asked to meet first due to the missed appointment but we received no response. 7th April: You requested additional works to the property (carpets and garden) that were not agreed at the outset, and then chose to withdraw. Regarding the holding deposit: this is retained in line with the signed agreement, as the property was taken off the market and you later decided not to proceed. We always aim to be fair and transparent and we’re happy to discuss this further if needed.

Could not recommend S&Y enough as the experience I had with Phil was tremendous. With a pandemic prolonging the process, Phil was extremely patient with my situation and took the time to discover exactly what I wanted in a property. He gave honest advice and went absolutely above and beyond to help me overcome the obstacles I faced, ensuring I made the best financial decisions. I felt confident trusting Phil and he was only a phone call away throughout the entire buying process.
