As first time buyers we’ve had a really great experience with Stanford Estate Agents in Bitterne. From the very beginning Katie was fantastic when showing us the property. She was friendly, helpful and made arranging a viewing so easy especially compared to other estate agents we had dealt with. She was also really supportive throughout the process and we truly feel her help played a big part in us securing the property. Martin was also great! he was very knowledgeable and patient and took the time to go through all the figures with us and explain how everything works. As first time buyers this was incredibly helpful and he even managed to get us accepted for our mortgage in just three days which really helped move things along quickly. Tim has been brilliant at keeping us updated throughout the process. One thing we really appreciated is that we’ve never had to chase for updates they’ve always contacted us first and kept us informed every step of the way. As first time buyers, you’re always told that buying a house is one of the most stressful things you can do but that honestly hasn’t been our experience at all. The whole team have been professional, responsive and easy to deal with which has made the process feel really smooth and stress free. We’re really grateful for all their help and would definitely recommend Stanford Estate Agents to anyone looking to buy or sell.

After a stressful experience with a previous sale that feel throguh (another estate agency), working with Standford Estate Agents (especially Katie) was a complete breath of fresh air. From start to finish, she was proactive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Always keeping me updated, chasing things up, being transparent and mare sure everyone on track. Excellent service from the Stanford team. We needed to sell a probate property which was a bit of an emotional process however the team took charge of the whole process and were excellent from start to finish to ensure everything went through smoothly. We had lots of viewings and feedback with a great deal of interest. The photos taken were perfect and the after sales was brilliant. Tim was a fantastic support ensuring everything was going smoothly and kept me updated throughout. I cannot praise them more and wouldn’t use anyone else if selling in the area!

TLDR: Stanford are great, just be prepared for a lack of communication. We've just completed our sale with Stanford. Alex was great and saw our property for what it was, vs other EAs who were valuing it for less (despite the price boom at the time). Stanford were happy to arrange an open day since we have pets to work around, and Alex also went straight in with a good price too; no need for negotiation. Alex took wide angle photos which were very high quality. So initial impressions were good. Price, vision and quality of photos stood out from the competition. Unfortunately it went downhill a bit once the house had an accepted offer on it; communication was slow at best and it felt as though they were working for my buyer more than they were for me. At one point I had a call saying that the buyer wanted to negotiate the price due to concerns about the completion date (stamp duty deadlines), but it later transpires that the chain had fallen through at the bottom and nobody told us?! Most of the time I'd get a call from our solicitor or a call from the developer we were buying from, and maybe a call from Stanford but typically only if its good news to deliver - but at that point I had already heard it several times. If it wasn't for the developer that we were buying from, I'm certain i would've been far more frustrated at the lack of communication from Stanford. I know someone else who was also selling at the same time and they have voiced the same concerns. Communication is key to avoid frustration during a busy and stressful time; frustration causes things to fall through. 3* because I would use them again, but the Mrs wouldn't.

At last a Sales Consultant that knows about the property he is trying to sell to us. So far the property knowledge of the estate agents we've spoken to has been shocking. Our tenancy at a Stanford’s-managed property was one of the most distressing rental experiences of our lives, and completely unacceptable by any standard. We moved into a house in unsafe and unsanitary condition just weeks after the birth of our baby, only to face months of unresolved issues including black mould, broken appliances, no fire alarms, and even a confirmed rat infestation. Basic maintenance was ignored, safety regulations were violated, and communication was consistently dismissive and unprofessional. At one point, we had no bathroom door for four months. A serious health hazard from rats entering through broken sewage piping was downplayed by both Stanford’s and the landlord, despite an exterminator’s report. Our baby's safety and development were put at risk, and our concerns were treated with indifference. I would strongly urge anyone considering renting through Stanford’s to think twice. Our experience showed a systemic lack of care, accountability, and basic decency. No family should ever have to endure what we did.

I purchased a property through Stanford Estate Agents after being shown around a lot of property’s by Bradley as I really didn’t know what I wanted as I wasn’t expecting to be moving but eventually he found the perfect house for me. I was invited into branch to speak to their mortgage advisor who was actually the mortgage advisor from my last two mortgages so it was great to see Peter again which made me feel a lot more at ease as this is the first mortgage on my own. I then started talking to Tim the branch manager after my offer had been accepted, Tim was very helpful with answering all my questions and contacting the seller if he couldn’t answer them. Even after I had my completed I found that the oven didn’t have any electrics going to it, Tim contacted the sellers straight away for me to get it sorted. Although I am hopefully never moving again, I do highly recommend Tim and the team for purchasing.
