We used John Minnis to sell our home in East Belfast. My agent was Abbie and Amy took the lead on marketing the property on social media. Abbie was extremely responsive to messages, (even when I was being very annoying), always kept me updated with viewings and feedback was given early the next day following viewings. I always knew where I stood especially when we put the pressure on when we found our forever home. Abbie also liaised with the estate agent we were buying the house off to clearly outline our position which took work off us which again was greatly appreciated. Amy was exceptionally professional when it came to our marketing video. She arrived on time (which was very important as I was working from home) and arrived with a full script explaining the property spec in great detail. The video itself was amazing and very easy to share on social media and there was a noticeable uptake in views after it. We recently sold our house with John Minnis East Belfast. We were initially also trying to buy a house through them also but this fell through (no fault of the agent). I have no complaints about our experience with John Minnis. The staff were professional and responsive. When our original buyer dropped out, they acted quickly to get more viewings booked in and find us a new buyer before we lost our onward move. A huge thank you to Lynzi who was outstanding throughout and we were lucky to work with her, and also to the rest of the team who were so helpful in this process.

Exceptional experience

Exceptional experience from initial contact to completion of sale. Highly professional and personable staff who really go above and beyond to make clients feel valued. I was updated regularly throughout the process, consulted regularly when things didn’t go to plan with buyers etc. and given solid advice on next steps. The staff have exceptional market knowledge and really did hand hold me through the whole process at every stage. I have dealt with John Minnis for previous sales and will revert to them for future sales. Special mention to Lynzi, who managed the whole valuation / sale, and Amelia who supported throughout. Having viewed several houses through this estate agency and eventually purchasing one, we had experiences with most of their staff and overall it was fairly negative. The majority didn’t know any details about the house you were viewing, were impossible to get in contact with and the whole process felt very slow and poor. When we initially sale agreed on the house we purchased, Abbie was the estate agent managing the property. She was rude, highly unprofessional and difficult to contact and we nearly gave up on the house we wanted because of her incompetency. We were thankful when the sale was transferred to Lynzi, as she was great at communicating, negotiating and provided an efficient and professional service to get the house sale completed. Had we been put in contact with Lynzi from the beginning, this review would have been 5 stars!

John Minnis staff are typically very helpful, however we had a challenging experience dealing with the agent we were assigned. Unfortunately, her conduct was unprofessional and often rude. It appears she may be more accustomed to valuation work rather than direct client interaction, as what we perceive as lack of training and customer service skills was evident. Several instances during our communication left me feeling uncomfortable and actually upset, reaching a point where we no longer desired to proceed with the purchase of the house we had invested in. It was only after the agent ceased communication that the sale progressed smoothly and became significantly easier. We are thankful for our purchase and that the agent was part of making this happen. My main point is as buyers, you only wish to work with an effective and supportive team that listens when making such a large investment. And regrettably, this was not our entire experience.

We went with John Minnis to sell our property in the past 2 months with Ross McKnight. From meeting/valuation right up to completion Ross was great at keeping us in the loop and answering questions within an acceptable timeframe. When completing the valuation, Ross was thorough with his inspection of the house, taking extensive notes. This in turn gave us a great feeling as we knew the advert was going to concise and detailed. The booklet produced for sale was high quality, using their in house photographer gave us photos that were outstanding. We never felt left out of anything, and the fact we bought a house that was also on John Minnis books really kept everything running smoothly.
