Our sale of a property in Surbiton was complicated by the fact that everything had to be managed from overseas. We were fortunate in being directed to John D. Wood and Co at the Surbiton branch, where we have nothing but praise for the professionalism and efficiency of Luke Dwyer and Theo Harding. There were many issues which caused delays in the process of this sale, but at all times Luke was quick to be in touch and to advise on the way forward. Although we did not meet in person, we very much appreciated his reassuring manner as we negotiated both legal and practical setbacks.

From the initial consultation, to the setting up of a WhatsApp group to exchange key information, we found the communication with them was fantastic. We did have to lower the price of the house more than expected but they managed our expectations on this and were tenacious in creating and managing leads and our eventual buyer. We were really happy with John D Wood Beckenham office for the sale of our property. Lisa and Lily especially were both instrumental in helping us achieve our goal of selling our house and moving to a new one. We had unfortunately come off the back of a very disappointing service elsewhere and felt like we’d had very poor communication and hadn’t understood basic things like who was in our home, what the current status was of potential buyers or advice in our best interest on offers. We went looking for an agent which had a wider reach of potential buyers but that also had a smaller personal feel where I understood which agents would be showing my house and how they would handle the sale. We had been shown some properties on our own search by John D Wood and were very impressed by the way they had liaised with us and shown the properties. We approached them and they immediately showed clear commitment to what we wanted to achieve but also they listened to what we didn’t like in our previous experience and ensured we had everything we needed to feel comfortable and informed throughout the process. The highlights for me were; Meeting the whole sales team in my home as well as the manager and being able to show them the property and meet each person who would be showing prospective buyers- this was very reassuring and valuable to me. Having a dedicated communication channel which was updated regularly pre, during and post viewings allowing clear and timely comms which the sales team and myself and my husband were part of. Having face to face conversations whenever required with the manager. In the final weeks of the transaction, the team worked tirelessly to hold the transaction together across the whole chain and I really felt that they were working for me as their client to achieve the outcome of having the property sold so we could move. I don’t think without the work they did in the final weeks we would have had the outcome we did and I am extremely greatful for this. I would definitely recommend John D Wood, Beckenham. It is entirely worth the personal touch from the dedicated team which have excellent local knowledge and a wider reach of clients.

-A Steady Hand in a Turbulent Sale- We honestly can’t thank John D Wood & Co. enough, especially Lily O'Gorman and her manager, Lisa Knight. Buying our home was far from easy, but their patience, support, and persistence made all the difference. We'd actually lost out on a previous property with them simply because we were inexperienced. This time, Lily made sure we got it right, guiding us through the offer process with care and clarity. Things didn’t get any smoother after that. Our mortgage broker became unexpectedly ill, and we hit a series of financing roadblocks. Through it all, Lily stayed calm, supportive, and always on our side. She persuaded the vendors to give us the time we needed, allowed four different surveys, and stuck with us until the mortgage finally came through. Lily truly went above and beyond.
