Declan worked really hard on the sale of our flat, and even though we encountered a lot of stumbling blocks he was continuously pushing it along to get it over the line. Declan is a very friendly estate agent and we enjoyed dealing with him, both in the sale of our flat and the purchase of our home, always being very easy to get hold of and communicating openly with us. Competent team delivering results

We worked with a very competent team, specifically Jenna (manager) and Gabriela (our agent), who were the main members involved in the sale of our property. Jenna is knowledgeable about market pricing and made a fair assessment of the potential premium pricing as well as achievable market pricing. Gabriela, our main contact did not waste our time with constant viewing for the sake of creating traffic but was instead deliberate with selecting the right prospects leading to the final conclusion on the sale. She was attentive, responsive and nothing less than friendly throughout the whole process. We appreciate the collaboration and would choose MG again.

Honest, Helpful, Hardworking and ultimately the best choice I feel

They were great. having researched local EAs I arranged a visit from three including Annie from Martyn Gerrard in Kentish Town. Of the two other agents (whom I will not name) One appeared brusque even arrogant, the other left me feeling manipulated. In contrast Annie was modest and attentive. The valuations had a huge variation but Martyn Gerrards being in the middle - matched my own assessment of the market. I should add that Annie was the only agent who came to premises having done their homework, looked at similar properties recently sold. The hiccup was that this occurred a few days before the Trussonomic incendiary of the mini budget so the property asking price did have to be lowered. Annie and Cem who also dealt with the property both helped me enormously in understanding what was happening and managing my own expectations and I am about to complete after getting two offers above the new asking price. They have been a great deal of help and special thanks to Cem for watering my plants while I was away - amongst other generous offers of help. So a big thanks to Annie, Cem and Roland. I felt I could trust you from the beginning and you didn't let me down.

Extremely Prompt, Friendly & Positive

I've been searching for a property for a couple of months now, but I haven't come across an agency that communicates with the client to this level via calls, email & text ensuring that the set date/time are convenient before the viewing. On the viewing date I arrived a couple of minutes earlier to find the agent already waiting outside with a welcoming warm smile. Jodie showed us around the property highlighting all its strengths & positive factors as if it was her own property for rent. Although the property didn't tick some of my basic wants, I explained to Jodie what I was looking for as I knew for a fact it's not easy to find such a positive agent who took great interest in the client's need as if it was their own. “Over-Promise and Under-Deliver” Pros: The engagement with Martyn Gerard is generally professional, timely, and accommodating, particularly during the initial stages when you are browsing and considering properties. Cons: Where do I begin? The predominant issue is the lack of accountability and delegation. Referencing: Martyn Gerard employs a third-party service, Goodlord, for their referencing checks. Upon logging in, the level of scrutiny imposed feels almost invasive. In addition to providing three months’ payslips, employer details, current landlord information, and undergoing a credit check, I was also required to allow Goodlord to access my bank account for a supposed “one-time sync.” However, I discovered that this connection was continuous, prompting me to terminate it immediately. Following this, I was inundated with sales calls and promotions from companies associated with Goodlord. There is no option to opt out of this, and the marketing feels forcibly imposed. When I raised my concerns about this process, Martyn Gerard offered no solution, stating it was a third-party issue outside of their control. Check-in Process: Once again, a third-party company was used. Upon arriving for the check-in process, the agent had already completed it. Martyn Gerard was neither present nor did they confirm that the property was in the condition stipulated in the contract. No briefing was provided regarding the workings of the property or key items to be aware of. While this may not be a significant concern for some, it certainly did not sit well with us. Contractual Concerns: Their contracts heavily favor landlords, which is understandable, but I strongly recommend that tenants carefully review every revision of the contract. It is imperative to ensure the inclusion of a break clause. Martyn Gerard made changes to the contract, including subtle wording adjustments, without notifying or discussing them, which could potentially work against the tenant’s interests. When I raised concerns about certain contractual obligations, my calls were ignored, and I received no follow-up. At this point, after receiving the first month’s rent, communication from Martyn Gerard essentially ceased. It was clear that, in their view, I was no longer their concern. After speaking directly with the landlord, I discovered that Martyn Gerard had failed to communicate several important items to them as well. In my experience, Martyn Gerard added little to no value for either the landlord or the tenant during the initial stages, negotiation, or conclusion of the contract. This lack of responsibility and accountability is disappointing for both parties. For these reasons, 1 star was given and I will not be using Martyn Gerard for any future dealings
