TrustpilotAgent Harj was full of fake promises
Agent Harj was full of fake promises. Although he was all smiles and seemed friendly, the minute we left after our viewing he didn’t return texts or calls and shyed away from any contact. After several calls to the agents I finally managed to find out myself that the property had been given to someone else, rather than them calling me to inform me I had to dig this information out of them which was frustrating. Avoid!

TrustpilotBad communication
I have been trying to contact them for 4 months in regards to my flat and contract but they are absolutely appalling at responses and making things clear and helpful for those they are letting to. They have sent me in so many different directions on who to contact and have stopped responding to me within one week of me first contacting them. On top of this it took them weeks to respond and report to maintenance issues, and when they did the response I got was rude and abrupt. As well as that they issues weren't resolved fully resulting in me feeling uneasy in what was meant to be my own space. Absolutely awful service and wouldn't even consider letting/renting from them again.

TrustpilotHunters, Preston Road, Harrow
I write about Hunters, Preston Road, Harrow. I am a landlord. I asked Hunters, Preston Road, Harrow to serve notice to the tenant on 10 January 2024. Hunters refused to do so and unlawfully pulled out the deposit on the 19th of January 2024. I had paid Hunters for this deposit to be insured until the end of the contract on 17March 2024. They said because they pulled out the deposit from the scheme, they were unable to serve notice to the tenant. Hunters are not responding to any of my emails asking about access to my property or how I can contact the tenant after the contract expires. The tenant is also refusing to respond to my emails. I am shocked that this can happen when you engage the services of a reputable a countrywide agent like Hunters. There has been a lot of bullying by Hunters throughout the year and they have tried to get outside parties to help them to extort a couple of thousand pounds out of me too. Changes have been made to the gas system to accommodate an extra four hob burner which has resulted in the gas certification being failed. So as to not draw attention to the gas issue, Hunters did not arrange a gas certification at both of my properties too! When I questioned them they stopped communicating for the next three months!Should you have issues with Hunter’s there is no one at head office one can reach out to. You are forced to write and write and write to the same person who is responsible for the issues!!! Does that even make sense! Questions I ask Hunter’s about my property have a come back ..they will take me to court or I should sue them! The contract expires in three days time and it is as if I have no information on my property thanks to Hunters!

It’s refreshing to find an agent who keeps you up to date with the viewings and on any advice or questions you have in a timely manner

TrustpilotPathetic estate agency
Pathetic estate agency! The guy who is showing properties mixing up addresses and you end up viewing a different one. If you make an offer they show a very keen interest in person then no-one ever comes back to you. The property owners will never get to find out who made offers and they may just losing out on perfectly good tenants…!They do not even talk to each other within the office to relay interest. You get a bunch of promise, but that is all!Laura is useless!

TrustpilotIf you're in the market to buy...
If you're in the market to buy a property I would exercise caution with these agents. We were looking to purchase a property last year in Manchester. Hunters wouldn't let us view the property as we were out of the country at the time viewings were taking place and due to a large volume of interest they couldn't accommodate us on an individual basis. Having later spoken to the seller who reshared the property via a Rightmove link on social media Hunters later got in touch to arrange a viewing. When we went to view the property several days later we were told that this was the 30th viewing and they were only taking offers greater than £15k above the advertised asking price through to a best and final offer (BAFO) process ending in 3 days time. There were already 6 other offers submitted at that time. Having decide to throw our hat in the ring we submitted an offer and awaited the outcome. Hunters agents then called us on the day the offers closed saying our offer was the second highest offer would we consider looking to increase this. At this point it became clear it wasn't a BAFO as they wanted us to submit a new final, final offer in an effort to start a bidding war between the rightful higher bidder and create a gazumping match. Unfortunately this wasn't meant to be so decided to withdraw our offer. For a seller this is perfect when looking to maximise a return but for those looking to buy this type of behaviour not only undermines what is intended to be a fair process it creates a really volatile market in what is already difficult for buyers.Thankfully we have since prevailed after this experience and found the right place for us.

Appalling group of folks! This group has no idea what they are doing. we worked with Selina and she was absolutely clueless and brought wrong/unverified information to the table. If I were looking to rent, I would be running as far as possible from this agency or owners they work with! if there were minus points that is what I would give them for ripping a kid off!

TrustpilotHunters Worsley
When I bought my first property in 2018 I went to Hunters in Worsely, in their cute old office on the bridge- they've now moved to another nice location on the canal- at the time all the nice properties seemed out of my price range, BUT when I sold five years later I decided to sell with them because I remembered going in there and thinking "these are all nice properties"! And I now had a nice property to sell!Daniel came to see my flat and discuss a valuation, he was great and we were able to sit and talk through the process, he had literature to give me and print outs of comparable properties as well as the maths behind the estimates. The photographer Hunters got to take pictures of my place produced some really stunning photos, it looked right out of a magazine.Victoria and her team looked after my property for me. It did take a long time to sell BUT that was because we went into it very positively in October 2022 before the horrendous economy crash.I did have two offers in the first month of the listing but I turned one down and the other fell through because of the location being too far from the buyer's job. After that the country slumped and no one was buying, I'm sure that in normal (non-crashed-economy) times the team would have sold it much quicker. Everyone was very happy for me when we sold the property. The team were very positive and great to speak to throughout, I'm glad I was with them. Thanks Hunters!

TrustpilotMoney for nothing
Make no mistake they aren't worthy of even one star! This Hunters franchise (Sea Road Sunderland) and their so called MD Chris Kelly and his team failed to carry our property inspections and investigate complaints from neighbours in relation to the neglect and horrendous decline of my property over a three year period. We as landlords put our faith in the letting agent and trust they will do a good job in managing our properties. I'm now £7k down trying to repair the property to a good standard. The failure of this company to manage the property and the tenants has left me significantly disadvantaged. Mr Kelly has not responded to my many complaints and requests for compensation and has instead left the franchise, no doubt to make another fortune charging 15% off the back of other unsuspecting landlords! Hunters are a company well known and trusted in our area but be warned, these agents are hiding behind that brand and are able to operate without scrutiny or regulation!!

TrustpilotAvoid this agency at all costs.
I paid a £135 holding deposit to secure a room with an agreed move‑in date. The moment they took my money, they changed the date and told me I could only move in several days later. Because of their change, I could no longer proceed and asked for a refund, which they refused.

TrustpilotLess than 2.5 stars overall says it all!
Just when you think Hunters Yeadon can't really be as bad as their reputation suggests, they prove you wrong I was fortunate not to have too much to do with them during my recent tenancy but once they took over management of my AST for the house to be sold, I really did experience the full Hunters package. The manager is pure smarm, a sniff of money and all limits are off - including coming onto the premises of the house I was renting without notice or permission, and taking photos of my possessions and car, and using them for sales particulars despite me asking for them to be removed (a request which was ignored). The Hunters way is to make veiled threats of illegal rent increases and refuse to acknowledge that as I worked from home I would need additional notice of viewings. They seemed to think I was somebody to be pushed around (stupidly) - they tried to bully me, and failed. The difference between how they treat potential purchasers and tenants is incredible, and unacceptable. They either ignore emails which require a response or, in the case of Rebecca - write patronising and pointless responses when no reply is needed. Go figure. Apparently being insensitive and ignorant is the way forward - and respect is only offered if you are paying for it. They are disorganised - requesting my bank details for my deposit return several times, saying they didn't have them, and then making up some nonsense about how they had to ask me several times to 'check' them, rather than admitting they had made a mistake - and being snotty about it in the process. They expected me to provide my forwarding address because it's 'standard practice' and they apparently needed it for my deposit return (nope) and even sent me a list of how to clean the house - don't forget to wipe out the sink!! Yes, really. And when queried, I was told it was sent 'by mistake'. Yeah right. Oh and refusing to hold my post for collection, which had arrived before my mail forward kicked in. And then 'losing' post which was sent to the house and denying all knowledge of it even though I know for a fact it went there. I am now looking to buy and guess what - I won't be using Hunters under any circumstances. Moronic. Avoid at all costs.

TrustpilotAre the staff in the Highfield Road…
Are the staff in the Highfield Road office volunteers on some sort of day release programme ? I can only presume so because no company management in their right mind would pay them to do NOTHING, my 3 messages to request a viewing fell on deaf ears, yet it is still available for rent, appalling behaviour, does the owner of the rental know who they have looking after their property, in this case they soon will, Land Registry gave me the owners details and I am in the process of asking the owner directly for a viewing appointment as their "representatives" are awol.

Hunters Yeadon Leeds.I would not use this company ever again. They are very unprofessional, give your personal data to anyone who asks and tells you that they have a cash buyer when it turns out the buyer actually has a property to sell first.Took 8 months to complete.I complained to Hunters only to be sent a transcript of emails. No mention of the numerous phone calls I made to them. I spoke to Emma twice about giving out my details to a third party but apparently this never happened. We were told completion would be May, then June, then definitely July and it actually happened mid August.Very disappointed with the whole service.

TrustpilotHunters in Ruislip are worse than useless!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I am a landlord, and pay Hunters Ruislip for a fully managed service. When I first took out this contract with them back in September 2021, the lady I was dealing with, Simran was very professional and diligent. She made the whole process of renting out my property for the first time very smooth. If I had any queries or issues and had to contact her, she always replied and resolved them very promptly. My issues began back in June 2023, when I kept getting reminders from the Hunters Portal to renew my tenancy. I emailed Simran several times, but didn’t receive a reply, which I though was strange as previously she was very good. I then phoned the Hunters Ruislip several times but didn’t get an answer. I was leaving numerous voicemail on their machine to phone me back, but this didn’t happen! I then tried Simran’s Mobile number, but disconnected. I then kept ringing/emailing Hunters Ruislip’s main address/phone number, but wasn’t getting anywhere. I tried to visit their branch, but this was closed when it was supposed to be open. I then phoned another Hunter’s branch, who were helpful in giving me the details or the franchise group that I could contact to find out what was going on with Hunter’s Ruislip. The person I spoke to there, assured that the branch hasn’t closed down and she would contact them for them to contact me. After this I received a call from the MD at Hunter’s (Pranav) Ruislip stating Simran had left in April (despite her still being on their website and I didn’t get any bounce backs when I emailed her and didn’t understand why her clients weren’t informed of this.) and the other person (Daria) was office sick and he give me his direct mobile number/email address. I had advised him that I would like to renew the tenant’s contract for another year as I kept getting nagged by emails from the Hunter’s Portal. I also set him numerous emails to this effect as well as phoning his mobile number and leaving messages that weren’t replied to. Also the Gas Certificate was running out which I advised him about that he needed to get it renewed. I kept emailing/calling, no, reply but then eventually after 2 months I received a reply saying he would get the Gas Cert renewed and renew the tenant contract, which he sent me to sign. Despite the Gas certificate expiring on the 06/09/2023, I've not heard from him regarding if it's been renewed or not or even a copy of this certificate, despite repeatly askingThe last Friday (01/09/2023), out of the blue, I received an email from him stating there was an issue at the property and forwarded me an email from the tenant’s regarding an external leak that had which has caused damage to my property, the tenant’s included photos of the damage. I notice that the email the tenant’s had sent him regarding this was dated the 17/08/2023! So I phoned him, luckily I managed to get hold of him this time and asked him why he was just advising me now when the tenant’s had emailed him on the 17/08, he stated that the email from the tenant’s went in to the Hunter’s email junk folder! I advised him that this was unacceptable, and asked him to contact the tenant’s and find out what was the exact nature of the damage and what exactly had caused it. I also asked him for somebody to go around there and inspect the damage. So, this damage could be repaired ASAP. I followed this up with emails detailing my expectation of how this should be dealt with as I’m paying for a fully managed service. Despite numerous emails/leaving messages on answering machines, to date, I’ve had no contact from him about either arranging to get to damage repaired or any other points I had raised!Basically since Simran/Daria left this branch, the service has gone completely downhill. Totally unprofessional service. The Managing Director (Pranav) doesn’t care, emails/phone calls go unanswered (even to his mobile) and the branch isn’t even open when it’s supposed to be! It’s the tenant’s I feel sorry for and Hunter’s Ruislip manage (mis-manage) relationship with them.I’m at the end of my tether will it all but really don’t know what else to do.If I don’t hear anything soon, I will be making a formal complaint to the Hunter’s Franchise group. So, please do not engage Hunter’s Ruislip if you want to rent out your property and value your sanity.I would give them 0 stars if I could

TrustpilotHunters in Ruislip are awful! AVOID
Google review of Hunters, RUISLIPI don't understand why this estate agents had so many good reviews. Maybe they are better at sales rather than lettings....My experience with them has been really awful from the start! I used this estate agents to let my newly refurbished flat out. Firstly they didn't screen the tenant enough and allowed this tenant to have a permitted occupant on the tenancy agreement. This permitted occupant was the brother of the tenant who lived there and I later found out he was a criminal with a tag!! I had no idea he was living in my flat instead of the actual tenant on the agreement. He damaged my flat, drilling holes in the walls to fix his TV in the lounge and bedroom. He smoked in the flat when it was not permitted! Thank God he gave notice to leave but he left the flat in such a mess, he did a bodge job of fixing the walls and painting the flat with different colour white which looked patchy and so awful! He caused damage to the beading and door profiles that I had to get them all replaced! I had to get a builder to renovate the whole flat again to get it to the standard that it was before he moved in. Anyway during this time of this person living in my flat, the rent was overdue by days and I had to call the estate agents several times. It was so hard to get hold of anyone. I would leave messages and emails to get them to call me back but they would never get back to me!! I would get the rent late after so many phone calls to them to chase the tenant up! Pranav was the main person I had to deal with as unfortunately Daria was off sick. Pranav was useless, he was so laid back with everything, he needs a fire cracker up his back side to get him to do anything including the simple job of calling the tenant up!! I had to visit the agent and sit in front of him to get him to call the tenant to chase up the rent as left to his own devices, he would do nothing! The rest of them just don't care and are completely useless! The phones are rarely manned by anyone you just get a voice mail to leave messages. Pranav hardly got back to me or responded to emails...it has been absolutely hard work dealing with these people at this agency! They are totally unprofessional and unreliable! I am currently fighting to get some of the deposit back from that nightmare tenant. I have been ringing them every day but I have been unsuccessful in getting hold of anyone in the office who cares enough to do their job properly and in a professional manner. If u want to rent your flat our DON'T use this estate agents. They are absolutely useless!! Daria and Simran were the only diligent good staff that were working there. Unfortunately they are not there anymore, instead the other agents are just not diligent or care enough to do their jobs properly. You will only get nothing but stress and disappointment if you deal with these clowns! I am just glad I have got my flat back and I am going to rent it out with another reputable estate agent in Watford who are so much more professional and who have managed to find me a much more suitable tenant through their diligent screening process. If you want to avoid disappointment and unnecessary stress whilst renting your flat AVOID this estate agents!

TrustpilotRocky start but some excellent staff (Pudsey branch)
We used Hunters (Pudsey branch) to both sell and buy in summer 2025. We started off on rocky footing, being passed from person to person when we were first listed and not told we’ve been passed onto a new person. It felt like because we didn't sell in the first two weeks that nobody wanted us as their listing. It was stressful and disappointing, but when we finally landed with Jackie things became so much more positive. Jackie, then later Georgia, then once we moved to Sales Progression, Lavinia, were all excellent. They treated us with patience and kindness every time we called. We could trust what they told us and that we would be able to reach them.

TrustpilotAwful experience
Awful experience. Poor repairs. Illegal eviction - should have been a section 8 as landlord was selling up and tried to use the deposit for renovating the property into a HMO. Hunters also charged the previous tenants for professional cleaning which we were told would be happening in the first week or so of moving in. It didn't. They then tried to charge us for the same service. Wonder how many customers they do this to. Also charging for items not on the property but given to a neighbor, and later thrown out by him on his own garden area q(he advised landlord and hunters it was his to get rid of). They have identified it as formerly mine from property inspection photos which legally should not be taken of my possessions. Con artists. Pending further action.
