Can not recommend Penny Smyth Estates enough. We have experience on both selling and buying through Penny Smyth and can't fault on either side. We had been buying from another agent and was a nightmare, we had pull out of other purchase. Penny and Kerry found us a house in area we wanted and the rest is history. A lot of stress, more down first house we were buying, lost a buyer and other agent totally messed us around, but their good humour helped ease the pressure and they kept us going through what felt a lifetime of ups and downs. We would without a doubt use Penny Smyth again if we are ever mad enough to move 😂😂. Peter was also very good to calm me when I was stressed and always so calm and confident on the phone. Nothing was an issue to any of them, top notch team 👍👍. They take a genuine interest in selling and helping you find next home, so personal compared to other agents who simply list properties. They found us our buyer and they found us out new home after listening to what we wanted and the area were after. I wouldnt recommend at all, I found them really underhand and at times unpleasant do deal with. When trying to buy my home and going through the bidding process they told me there was no point making a higher bid on the property because the vendor wouldn't be interested and had decided to sell to another bidder, I was then hurried off the phone. I thought about it overnight and emailed them the following morning with my bid to ensure that they had to put my bid to the vendor. I then received a very snotty email back accusing me of "gazumping" and explaining to me that this was frowned upon. I shouldn't have needed to gazump if they had put my offer to the vendor. After my email they lied and said they couldn't contact the vendor ( Holly actually called me to tell me they were still trying their best to contact him) when in fact I had taken it into my own hands and went to the person's door directly and he told me he had spoken to them and was keen to accept my offer. They were trying to sell the house to a buy to let bidder who was obviously known to them. I couldn't believe how devious they were. I didn't make a complaint because I knew by the way they treated me that they were dishonest and sneaky and I didn't think for one minute that a complaint would be dealt with seriously.

Offering professional photos, a video and brochure, taking care of all the viewings- it was seamless. Several issues arose relating to the sale that took a bit of time to remedy, and Kerry’s communication was amazing. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I have never seen such unprofessional and unethical agency. We have got the house, sale agreed and got confirmation letter from the agency. I did book the surveyor and was sorting the solicitor. After 4 days, they did take an offer from someone else! Ethical and professional agencies would never do such thing. They wouldn't take further offers neither disclose the price.

We have had such dreadful experiences renting with people in the past, and it has left me as a very paranoid tenant, as it doesn’t feel like letting agents work for me, they work for the money, and the same with the landlords. I’m so used to having to fight to feel secure in the place I call my home. It’s my first instinct. But penny smyth have gone above and beyond helping us with this property we’re renting. We moved over from England to NI, and they got us a flat that suits our needs perfectly, powered through the paperwork, and got us in within a week and a half (just in time for the move!) They’ve seen to it personally that we’re comfortable and not having issues, and the issues we have had have been done respectfully and in a great time efficient manner. If you get the opportunity, I would 100% recommend working with this delightful team. I know I will be staying with them as long as physically possible!
