GoogleIt is our strongly held opinion that Home Independent falsely advertised a property which was not ready to go on the market. As far as we can tell, the expected due diligence was not carried out regarding the land or property being sold, such that we found out at the last hurdle that part of the property in question wasn't owned - as pictured on the website or shown at the viewing - by the vendors. They also admitted as much, with a Homes Independent staff member stating, verbatim "we are guilty of false advertising here, we shouldn't have listed this property". Now, the property sale having fallen through after eight months of hard work on our part to try and get the sale completed as the purchasers, they are NOW backtracking. We had been strongly led to believe that HI would be willing to reimburse some of the costs that we have lost on this property (over £1,200), and now they have changed their minds. We will have to pursue this through solicitors, which is obviously a great shame and waste of everyone's time, and will cost HI more money to fight than just to reimburse us. We will also be complaining to the Property Ombudsman.
EDIT: Worth noting that shortly after this review was posted Home Independent rang us to try and pressure us to take this review down. An interesting tactic for a business which could easily just address the issue.

We feel it’s important to clarify that we have a full trail of communication between yourself and our team which shows a very different version of events to what has been stated here. Our staff member did not make the comments you’ve quoted and it is defamatory to claim so. We take such claims very seriously. The property was advertised accurately based on the information provided to us at the time. Issues arose later in the legal process, after the sale had been agreed, which were outside of our control. We appreciate that it’s disappointing when a sale doesn’t progress as planned, but we would ask that this frustration isn’t directed towards our business or our staff, who acted professionally throughout. The phone call was made due to our shock and disappointment after we spent months trying to help you with this purchase.

Any issues that ever arose were resolved quickly and if there was a delay or issue, Claire was honest and informed us of an action plan to resolve quickly. We have came across a number of agents who have communicated poorly throughout but Claire was the best we have ever worked with. GoogleNot impressed I exercise my rights as a tennet to have repairs done now time has past I have to repeat it all again to them damp issues being one main problem as we all know damp is a major issue tbh can even cause death so I've requested this fixed many times due to risk to my health as u have heart conditions I am trying to shake covid off only to receive a letter saying hedges need cut and grass this was done before any letters came to my letter box the context of the letter felt like.i was being spoke down to as a child tbf I mean I can see what needs done and trying my best due to health and weather and costs of proper chemicals for the job to kill the weeds etc plus the infestation of ticks does not help I've been getting eaten alive with bites all over my legs caught countless ticks in the house also in which is.another health hazard which seems like u want me to pay to fix also I will not be bullied by threats either to fix issues that are clearly for the land.lord to fix under health and saftey and duty of care to Tennant. In which by law has the right to live in a healthy and safe environment according to law but ok I'll play this little game of swings and round abouts but if I end it in hospital due to tick bites or damp I won't be taking it lightly.i all fairness you have been notified serval times tbh. I'd also like to add uve put money into this property won't be doing that again I've done everything and more even to save the owner money won't be doing that again either thb ive learned my lesson do not help other's no matter want as people today are never grateful or even thankfully so I'm.drawing a line today is where it stops id tried to be fair and reasonable in every way possible get silly knee jerk reactions to my requests as to repairs needed carried out to telling to to find another house also sorry you can't do that as I have only requested with in my rights to have repairs done still chasing these repairs to be completed health being affected damage to my property also few these issues still no one listening even though I got heart conditions lawyers involved now letters are sent and ignored also I've put money in to said.rebtal house still money paid back to my yet almost 2 years on still chasing them to have the issues sorted.not.to be trusted being exited for wanting repairs done don't use them or trust them
