Fell in love with a property and was making all arrangements to purchase it, had been in contact with the agency for months, only to find out from the owner of a neighbouring property that the tap water is unsafe to drink (which was never mentioned either in the ad or by the staff member I was in touch with all this time - over 12 emails exchanged in 3 months) and the bank won't lend against it as it's not standard construction (absolutely no mortgage for this kind of property in Ireland as it's a log cabin, although they claim to have sold to mortgage buyers before) : those are 2 very important points that should be noted in the ad to save potential buyers' time and prevent disappointment. They would not help obtain past utility bills for me to gauge the monthly costs of electric/heating for the house, and could not tell me when the wood was treated last. Their reply to my review clearly shows that they did not see me as a worthwhile client as they already had an offer on the house, which to this day is still for sale. These things are part of the job, and if you're unwilling to help sell a property by providing this kind of basic information, you should not be in the real estate business. Absolutely don't recommend this agency. πŸ‘Ž

Hi Marie, I emailed you after you left this review with valid reasons for its withdrawal but you have chosen not to do so or reply. That is your choice. As it is mine to respond. It is difficult to know where to start with this review & the process that led you to leave it. It's very annoying as I firmly believe your comments to be nonsensical & spurious and could lead to someone choosing not to engage us as an agent even though we are excellent at what we do, because of its content. So, you fell in love with & were making arrangements to purchase a property which you had not yet viewed. A property that you were informed was under active bidding with other interested parties who had actually viewed & could well be sale agreed before you were coming to view (incidentally, it is, to a mortgage buyer who was made aware of the no drink notice when they viewed). Until you left this review, your contact with this office was limited to 2 emails to arrange a viewing. To address your points; Some lenders don't like giving residential mortgages on log cabins, for what reason I don't know. Many also don't like giving mortgages on derelict houses or properties on over 1 acre but should we put this on our listings for these types of properties? There is a no drink notice on the water there but people have installed filters on individual properties making it perfectly drinkable and the entire developments water system is getting upgraded in the near future. You would have been told these things, as have everyone who has ever viewed this development (including the 10 buyers we have sold to over the last 2 years). I am an advocate for the implementation of full & detailed sales packs for all property sales but at this time if an agent were to start putting things such as these in their listings they would soon find themselves with no clients or subject to discrimination against mortgage buyers. Would you choose this for your own property if you were selling? Should we use photos taken during bad weather as it rains quite a lot in Ireland? Comment that rural properties require the buyers to have their own transport? Where do would we stop Marie? I wish you the best of luck with your house hunting. Kind regards, James Spring. πŸ‘

Hi Philip, that review is disappointing to read. Our number is 049 952 7560. We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. You will get the answerphone during lunch time, out of hours and weekends. We honestly do not have any records of calls or messages from yourself. We can also be contacted online through our listings or by email at enquiries@readonohoespring.ie. Its strange that you couldnt reach us to enquire about a potential property purchase but you could manage to find us online and leave your review? We hope you are happy with your house purchase. Kind regards, James.
