Cannot speak highly enough of Jodie at the Aylesbury branch. Was recently relocating back to Aylesbury for work and looking for a good rental property, and Jodie was absolutely amazing in organising online viewings and sorting all the necessary paperwork for me. Every time there was a problem she was there to help and support. Have dealt with many of the local agents in the past, and Brown & Merry are by far the best, 100% would recommend.

When we had lost all hope of buying a BISF property, which those of you in the know will know are virtually unmortgagable, where other mortgage advisors failed, in stepped Hermione at Brown and Merry! Hermione worked tirelessly, explored all angles and after multiple hurdles, ultimately we now stand on the precipice of having a mortgage approved on our very first property (which just so happens to be a BISF) this is in no small part down to Hermione’s sheer tenacity and proactive work ethic. We had an excellent experience as first-time buyers with Brown and Merry. From the very beginning, the team was supportive, professional, and approachable throughout the whole process. We first met Ed, who guided us through our house viewings. He was very professional and well prepared, always able to give honest answers to our questions. He also played a crucial role in helping us during the negotiation of our offer. We decided to use the broker they recommended, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. Hermione was extremely professional and attentive, always kind and patient with all of our questions. She worked hard to find answers and support us throughout the process. There were some difficulties and delays along the way, but she kept us informed whenever there were updates and directed us to the right people when needed. The broker also helped us arrange our insurances and our will, which was incredibly helpful at a time when there were so many things to organise. Gary handled the liaison between us and the seller, and he did a great job keeping communication clear and moving things forward. Thank you all for the great work. We would definitely use Brown and Merry again in the future if we require estate agent services. The whole team was both professional and genuinely human, understanding the emotions their clients go through during such an important process.

Fantastic support from Nicole and the rest of the letting team after having to deal with a full renovation of our property after our last tenants left significant damage on vacating the property. They were empathetic, supportive and really leant in to share the burden and help us through the process, especially as we are not professional landlords. I recently let out my property through the team and had a really positive experience from start to finish. They were professional, responsive and very helpful throughout the whole process from marketing the property and referencing the tenants, to handling the paperwork and coordinating the check-in. Unexpected Charges and Poor Transparency

I used this company to manage my property in Hemel Hempstead. At the beginning, Stephen and Elliot were very convincing, but they did not clearly explain that there would be additional charges on top of the monthly management fee. After one year, I agreed a rent increase directly with the tenant and simply asked them to update the contract. For this, they charged me £300, even though it only involved changing a single number. When I saw this charge, I gave notice to terminate their management service, which unfortunately requires a six-month notice period. When I informed them of my intention to cancel, they first offered to reduce the £300 fee to £200, and then to waive it entirely, on the condition that I did not terminate the contract. This suggests that even they recognized the fee was not justified. During those six months, they charged me for as many items as possible. For example, they charged £60 for deposit protection, even though the deposit is held by a third-party scheme. Then, the following month, they charged £102 for an Income & Expenditure Statement, which added little to no value. In a very short period, they charged an additional £462 on top of the £100 monthly management fee. If you are a landlord in Hemel Hempstead, I would strongly advise you to review all terms carefully and be cautious about potential extra charges.
