Totally Disgraceful

Totally Disgraceful. We heard that Sherry FitzGerald was a professional company, but how far from the truth was this. We sold our residential property with them. They found a buyer, but at this point everything went so wrong. A member of staff gave the potential buyer the key and let them enter the property unsupervised. We were unaware of this until we got a call from a neighbour stating the potential buyer had moved a static caravan into the rear garden by craning it over the roof. At this point the potential buyer had no insurance in place, they damaged the interior of the house and they were planning on living in the static caravan rent free before the contract was exchanged. The staff at Sherry FitzGerald did nit check the property to ensure this did not happen. You can imagine the extra stress this put on the seller as the interior of the property had been destroyed and there was a static caravan in the rear garden. If the sale had fallen through, I would have been in a world of pain as it would be up to me to put the house back to being sellable again. The directors of Sherry FitzGerald were concerned, not for the customer, but their business. We had nearly two weeks of stress and getting extra engineer reports completed. I would not recommend their services.

Ed Reilly came to value our home in anticipation of us going to market. After our first meeting with Ed it was clear he had a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the current market so we did not hesitate to appoint him which transpired to be a great decision. Not all sales go smoothly , however with a calm and problem solving approach the sale was completed. Ed was fantasic to deal with , always promptly returning my calls and handing any issues with the utmost professionalism as did his team in the office. Very annoyed with sherry fitzgerald tallaght. Mislead about a few things during the already stressful process of buying apartment. I was told on a couple of occasions that furniture was included so I gave all my furniture to charity shop, only to find a completely empty apartment to move into. Have to now spend money I don't have to buy a whole new set of furniture on Christmas week. Very unprofessional people.

We have been dealing with Sherry Fitzgerald O'Meara for a number of years in the Athlone area. We have found them to be professional and well organised. In more recent times, we have been dealing with Lavinia in their office and I must commend her professionalism, dedication and follow through. This was even more evident through the Covid crisis.While most auctioneers are good at getting over the first hurdle in getting the property 'sale agreed', many loose sight of the need to follow the sale through to the final closing. This is where we found the service provided by Lavinia to be exceptional. She is also very conscious of the significant investment any purchaser is making when buying any house, and often reminds me of this and is not afraid to fight their corner, which I think gives the purchaser comfort also. Beware!!!They are unprofessional and provides an amateur service. Never seen anything like it. To deal with them is an enduring insult... Tool a year to sell my house Don't return calls or have a strategy for selling your property. It's simply an ad on daft or home. Ie . They are in no way proactive or care Mark Nestor in particular is extremely poor and lacking basic skills to perform his role. Quickly followed by Helena. Just as bad Takes weeks to get calls returned Can you imagine if they treat you the person selling the house like this.... Agents represent their own self interest....don't actively negotiate on your behalf or care about your asking price. Just want commission Behaviours escalated to the partners of this branch...took no action either. Clearly the culture of the place Girls in the reception are great tho Feedback already given to the office and nothing was done... for 13 months !!!

Bad experience as a potential buyer. They put up a property advert for a house in Coosan which had numerous misleading facts, such as allocated parking spaces, wardrobes, defunct stamp duty exception claims and believe it or not, solicitor fee discounts! A lot of other promises broke down very quickly, with absolutely no movement in the paperwork many months after we put down a deposit. No remorse or apology received in the way this was handled; grossly mismanaged right from the very start. Complete waste of time.

Unprofessional - never stick to commitment

I recently purchased a house through Sherry and my experience was worse (D15). While buying a house is a life event for most, the folks here has absolutely no consideration to that fact. They did not want to show me the house for final walkthrough which I had to argue with them. They lied to me that they had the entire house keys so I released the funds, however, they gave me literally just a single main door key. I had to follow up for 5 days, and multiple phone calls to receive the entire set of keys. After all this, it took 3 weeks for them to remove the 'Sold' board in front of the house. If you are looking for an agent, please do not consider Sherry, instead consider other agents who are more professional and friendly.
