Victoria was very friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond to help with the sale of my property. We had afew hiccups but she was straight on them to get the sale though. Thank you.

Some things never change - still shoddy

Some things never change. We bought our house through Bridgfords 5 years ago- not a good experience. They don’t answer the phone or answer emails. Today, as we’ve decided to sell the house, I thought to myself "maybe they’ve changed." I’ve called them 4 X, each time being redirected to an answering machine.I’ve emailed them and no reply. A continuation of a shoddy service continues. The 2 other estate agents I’ve contacted have replied more or less straight away and visits have been arranged. I honestly don’t know how Bridgfords survives in the current economic climate.

2 month+ deposit return delay

I rented a property managed by Bridgfords and moved out two months ago. I still have not received my deposit back. Since moving out, I have called and emailed the branch multiple times to follow up. My calls have been hung up on, and my emails have gone unanswered. For an agency that expects tenants to meet strict deadlines and requirements throughout the tenancy, this level of service at the end of the process has been disappointing. I would think carefully before renting through Bridgfords based on this experience.

Working with Vicky and Adam has been nothing short of exceptional. Easily one of the best, if not the best estate agent I have worked with. They have been proactive and staying on top of it. Never once did you give anything less than a positive attitude throughout the whole process - I will continue to sell my properties through Bridgfords Ashton,.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Vicky throughout my property sale, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her support. She was consistently available to help with any questions, issues, or queries, always making sure everyone was kept in the loop and that everything moved smoothly. Even after the sale was completed, she continued to go above and beyond. George was also incredibly helpful throughout the process, always approachable and professional whenever I needed assistance. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the service from the Bridgefords Sales team, they made a potentially stressful process so much easier. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Disrespectful and Desperate, Data Breach

We viewed a property and after loving it in person offered a cash offer of asking price their and then. Within the same hour, I got a call from the agent who shown us round to be told it was going to Auction. I checked the listing, and it didn't mention auction, but this was updated the next morning. The estate agent had every opportunity to call us to inform us it was an auction property. It seems we had a lucky escape since we have found out the property has had two collapsing sales, for such a desirable area and its price point, these are huge red flags. I called the agency first thing during the morning after our viewing at 9am, to say we aren't interested, we viewed a property to buy not to be told until after viewing it that it was auction, oh and it get's better they tried to make out it was a good deal, yeah a deal that would cost us 4.5% of a minimum of 6.600 in auction fees that we never knew of until afterwards and would never have considered had we of known this information before the viewing. I said, please don't get anyone to call me, but the auction company called me anyway, I tell them we are not interested. I have since had two more calls from the auction company ( which i understand is a sister style company to this agency ). I've had to block the number and inform my solicitor of a data protection breach, as I said I did not want to speak to anyone from auction. Also had a call in desperation from the agency saying oh the price has dropped. " Firstly, no it hasn't because of the fees; secondly, we said we were not interested, why was this not respected. I have never heard of this agency before we did the viewing and I wouldn't be surprised by the many low reviews; they will be able to continue in business much longer. Hoping this review grabs their attention because this is what happens when you harass someone. Don't follow correct and legal protocol and respect people's privacy.

1 Star is too many stars in my opinion...

I approached Bridgfords and Michael Poole last year to see about selling my late fathers Bungalow. I found their sales tactics to be a bit off, immediately trying to upsell me services I personally felt had no value, insisting it would make every difference. I begged to differ and having a bad gut feeling about them and a positive experience with Michael Poole I chose Michael Poole instead. Then came the phone calls trying to get me to switch and saying they would do a better job. After the second phone call I made it clear I was definitely not going to change my mind and asked them to remove my number from their records and not call me again. I received several other phone calls 2 or 3 weeks apart from each other and after repeatedly asking them to not call me again, the final call I received I told them (not very nicely) that if they contacted me one more time I would report them to the police for harassment as I had made it clear on several occasions I didn't want them to contact me. My advice to anybody looking to sell a house is don't even contact Bridgfords for a valuation. You can look at my review of Michael Poole to see how I found the service from them overall if you want to. The date I have recorded as my experience is the date of the second from final phone call i received as the final one was from a mobile so I cant be certain of the date without calling a few numbers to check. I have purposefully waited for the property to sell before leaving this review.

would not recommend this company to any…

would not recommend this company to any landlord. The fees are extremely high, with additional charges that are not always made clear from the outset. Communication is poor, and it is often very difficult to get hold of staff when you need support or answers. The contractors they use are also significantly overpriced, leaving landlords with unnecessarily expensive maintenance bills. For the amount charged, the level of service provided is disappointing. Overall, my experience has been frustrating, costly, and poor value for money. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

STAY AWAY - BRIDGFORDS DARLINGTON

I purchased a property from Bridgfords in December 2025. They have been holding the keys. I arranged my own contractors to start renovating the property. Bridgfords decided to change the locks without my consent and knowledge, I have been chasing them for almost a month now to get the money refunded back to me but it has been a struggle and a battle. Do not use this agency as they cannot be trusted and are horrible and difficult to work with. STAY AWAY FROM THESE INCOMPETANT, GREEDY MONEY GRABBERS

Thank you so much Holly at Stockton Heath's Bridgefords

I had a wonderful tour with Holly from Bridgeford's Stockton Heath. I didn't feel rushed and she was very attentive, patient with all my questions and built a quick rapport with me. She always answered the phone and emails professionally and gave thorough and informative replies, always keeping me in the loop as my application for my new rental progressed through all the stages. I highly recommend her. Steph xxx

I recently purchased a property through Bridgfords in Ashton. Overall I am happy with how everything went, they kept me informed throughout the process and addressed any queries I had in a timely manner. I mostly dealt with Becky (Rebecca Walsh) and can honestly say she is an asset to the company. She is very pleasant, well presented and knowledgeable. I had a concern regarding the property for which she quickly addressed and had rectified with the sellers. I do have a small negative unfortunately, Bridgfords were a bit pushy with using their own conveyancers and mortgage advisor in the beginning when I made the initial offer. So much so, that the offer I had made was only put to the sellers once I had been to an appointment with their mortgage advisor (who is not cheap by the way especially considering many brokers don't charge a fee as they make money from the lender). Nathan tried to make some excuse up about how I had to prove I can get a mortgage etc however, I did already have a mortgage in principle from 2 different lenders, This I found inappropriate and if I was the seller I would not be happy to learn that Bridgfords would withhold an offer in this manner. Anyhow, other than that. Cant fault the service provided and I am happy overall plus I got the house that I wanted. Thank you Bridgfords, Becky and Jodie!!!

The worst out there

The worst out there, put us through so much drama, very stressful and mentally draining, their mortgage broker is absolutely useless, 4 months later we were declined, absolute waste of time, waste of energy, they just didn't want us to buy it for some reason, maybe because we are a different skin colour to them! Stay away from the burnley branch, good lord, how do they get away with this bs.

Bridgefords are the worst estate agents…

Bridgefords are the worst estate agents i have ever come across, i am so glad i did not decide to sell my house with them! They never answer the calls, constantly leaving voicemails, very rarely they call you back! I viewed a property with them a week or so ago & no follow up phone call the following day, I wanted to make an offer , left several voicemails & nothing! Please avoid Bridgefords at all costs. They are the worst estate agents i have ever come across. Please stay away!

ignored, patronised and falsely accused

3 months into our tenancy we've experience the following with Bridgfords/Countrywide/Entwistle Green (no, I have no idea why they all take turns to email me or why they have different names if they're basically all the same company): * being told I had incorrectly logged repair reports online, despite following the printed handout we were given upon arrival to the letter. when I explained this, all I was met with was "the name of the person who gave you this information". I didn't really care about that, I just wanted the repairs done. This employee then ghosted us and never messaged back. *several issues we reported in our first week STILL have not been addressed, it's a joke. *it took around a month of emails and phone calls with various other employees just to get somebody to sort our broken boiler and thermostat out; we had no heating all that time and this was when it was still freezing every day. *we were instructed to order a bin from the local council and pay for the bin ourselves, then minus that fee from our next rent payment. despite being told to do this, Countrywide/Bridgfords sent us a threatening email saying we were in arrears. I replied back saying this was rubbish, only to be ignored for two days. I only got a reply when I sent a follow up saying I would message literally every day until they backed off and apologised. Funnily enough, 5 minutes later, they finally replied. *it for some reason took a month for them to remove the 'for rent' sign outside. again, as soon as I complained, it magically disappeared shortly after. *I had to fix a broken kitchen drawer myself within the first month myself because they refused to acknowledge the issue which had been present since day 1. *customer service is woefully slow. if you want to communicate via email, you get whinged at and pushed towards phone calls, which you then get dumped onto hold for and have patchy reception anyway. *during those phone calls, I'd be told 'this will happen, the landlord is sorting this', but nothing ever happens. *we've had 3 - soon to be 4 - visits from a contractor with regards to our bath/shower. how it takes this many call outs to repair one tap is beyond me. *this latest instance of the contractor coming around has now broken the bath tap, no hot water, the seal is leaking, he's caused some damage to the kitchen and even our front door doesn't shut properly due to some equipment he'd had resting against the door for an hour. What does Bridgfords/Countrywide have to say about this? 'You should have pointed it out due avoid another unnecessary visit to the property'. Yeah okay, i'm so sorry for beinga dumb tenant who refused to let the contractor leave until i'd magically detected various issues around the house and bullied him into fixing them. if we'd arranged for this to take place when out of the house anyway, what would this 'Emily' have said to me then, "you should have stayed at home and not gone to work to prevent another home visit". what nonsense. this woman is on another planet. I have filed a formal report against her because she shouldn't be offering her own opinions. for a supposed professional, her entire email was nasty and sneering. all in all, incredibly useless company. but I will be happy to update my review with positives if they actually prove they can deliver from now on. We shall see...

I have recently purchased a property through Bridgefords. I can’t express how good and thorough they have been. Chasing solicitors constantly and going above and Beyond. I have had the pleasure of dealing with Victoria and she has saved me from sleepless nights. Thanks again for all your hard work. And a side thank you to Jodie who stepped in and helped massively if Victoria was busy. You are both stars

Victoria was amazing. She supported us fully from start to finish and made sure we felt looked after throughout the process. She was really friendly and always responded quickly to our questions. As first-time buyers, we were quite nervous, but she made everything so much easier. I couldn’t be more pleased with her service and would definitely recommend her and Bridgfords if you’re looking to buy a house.

Valuation?? They can't be bothered!

Booked in a valuation with Bridgfords. They called the following morning at 830 which was very efficient. Was advised over the phone that this would take 30 minutes. Had a phone call from the Sale branch on the morning of the appointment. Asked if i intended to put my house up for sale, said it would be dependent on the equity we have in the house. He said the valuation would take and hour and a half and he could send a virtual valuation. It sounded like the guy couldn't be bothered at all. If this is the level of experience you get from someone that is trying to get your business, I would hate to think about the experience you would have selling through this place. Really poor service!

Landlords (and tenants!) - avoid this agent

To use a phrase, Bridgfords / Countrywide are an omnishambles, when it comes to being a landlord's agent. Landlords - Do yourselves and your tenants a favour and choose a different agent. You will end up doing just as much work managing Bridgfords (actually Countrywide) as you would managing any issues directly yourself. Two particular incidents that wound me up were when they charged us for work done by a decorator, which the decorator later admitted was never carried out; and secondly after forgetting to charge a tenant for costs due to them, they charged us instead, after deposit refund - without agreement or notice (money they still refuse to refund).

Have reported manager to property…

Have reported manager to property ombudsman. Bridgfords agreed a one percent sale fee to sell grandmothers property. The branch manager, Tammi Moulton, then completed the sale contract on our behalf, changing the fee to 'percentage of asking price' without consent - leading to an increase in fee by hundreds of pounds. This is, of course, unethical, illegal and we are challenging this. Add this to poor service, poor marketing of the property, and poor attitude of the staff members, in particular Tammi Moulton, and I don't think it is possible to find a worse estate agent in Staffordshire. Needless to say, I would avoid using.

Got bored of chasing them

Called multiple times to try and get a viewing booked in. Was told multiple times someone would call me back. Got bored of chasing them. They seemed far more interested in getting me to speak to their mortgage broker, and I hadn’t even viewed any houses with them yet! I have no idea how they manage to sell any houses. Quite clearly a load of sales people trying to hit targets and not actually that bothered about selling houses.

After going through a nightmare purchase Bridgfords Ashton and their amazing team were there every step of the way, Nathan was the main sales associate that dealt with our case but let’s not forget Jodie and Becky who helped out whenever Nathan wasn’t available, we would just like to thank all 3 of you for making the experience better for us, really mean it from the bottom of our hearts, you really couldn’t have done anymore for us, take care and all the best.
