TrustpilotA Crest Nicholson disaster
Having purchased a penthouse flat in Bolnore Village, Haywards Heath from Crest Nicholson in 2016, we have only just resolved serious defects. Our bi fold doors allowed water ingress causing damage to internal finishes and curtains. The large wrap around deck was unsafe with loose planks which splintered into holes, one of which I fell through. After hundreds of emails, years of failed patch repairs and Crest Nicholson trying to avoid responsibility, only in 2022 did they accept the inevitable and replace entirely. Appalling customer service and they continue to deny liability.Following my initial review I received an email from Trustpilot stating Crest Nicholson question if mine is a "genuine experience" despite extensive correspondence with their Deputy MD - more denial.Next my review was removed as I named the Deputy MD. It seems even using only a first name is not allowed with a negative review, although there are positive reviews containing names. A true double standard!

I had heard that the buying process could be extremely stressful, however I had a positive experience and the process only took under 2 months from first viewing to completion.

After expressing an interest in one of the homes at Claybourne we have been guided through the process of putting our house on the market choosing of an estate agent, pricing our house to sell has taken just under four weeks !!The care we have received has been Excellent and we are now on the first steps of buying a new home, very excited.

Initially the sales representatives were very responsive to queries, although continually pushing for the exchange of contracts. On completion of the property purchase, communication has been non existent as phone calls and emails have been ignored. Alarmingly, issues regarding a faulty smoke alarm and a missing carbon monoxide detector were not acknowledged nor resolved until the development site manager was contacted.

Check what NHBC Insurance covers when you buy from Crest Nicholson. This is most important as they omit some part of the insurance, such as fire safety.-----I have emailed requesting info, regarding the missing fire risk insurance which NHBC told us. Also requested details on the hazardous martial you have used on the building which completed only 2/3 years ago. Waiting for reply.

What a shoddy company. 100 snags and 4 years, and we're still not there. Water coming in through that ceiling and Crest aren't taking responsibility. Avoid.

Terrible customer service. Emails and phone calls to customer service go unanswered. We have been in our house at the St Margaret’s Park Bushey development for just over 3 years and still waiting for snagging issues to be fixed. No idea what’s happening with them because of lack of response. If I could give zero stars I would.

Very unprofessional, unhelpful and rude site agent! Maybe if she spent less time trying it on with tradesmen working on site and more time overseeing the building of houses then they would be completed on time and maybe have less snags!

TrustpilotHow they have 5 stat builder rating is a mystery!
The level of finish on the house is beyond poor. Our house was over £500,000 and I think my four year old could’ve done a better job at putting it together and the level of finish that we have been left with. Crest rushed this house to completed to suit their budgets and end of year and every single trades person has said these houses should’ve never been completed when they were. Crest are happy to take the extortionate prices they charge, but then the level of care and quality we’ve been left with is terrible. We had Head of Customer care out, first appointment she couldn’t turn up to at the time they set and second appointment tried to dismiss everything. We have lived here over three months now and still upside down, with all our furniture in the middle of rooms as we have been waiting so long to have the walls finished. We stored thousands of pounds worth of our life in the garage (as the house wasn’t really ready for us to move into) for it to become heavy with mould. Her response ‘the garage is for putting a car in, not for storing belongings in’. We’ve had to do a couple of tip runs to get rid of so many of our belongings because of the mould. This has been the worst experience of my life, buying a property from Crest Nicholson.
