First review was all good, but after a delay with lockdown and after moving in last Friday 31st July, I thought I needed to share our experience.From start to finish, it has been a pleasure dealing with Avant Homes. A year on and still asking for Avant to put things right. This is my second review as I’m a year in now and the customer care is worsening! We still have the same snags waiting to be dealt with. The site manager, nice chap at Alfreton, Derbyshire tells us just to put one room right will take two weeks. There’s a lot more issues besides. We asked Avant to rehome us whilst this is being rectified due to the amount of time and work living in a dusty environment as my husband has sarcoidosis affecting his lungs and I have asthma. A year ago Tim Brickley their managing director said yes. Then He came back and said no. We now have Covid 19 and still Avant say no! What about customer safeguarding? I’ve asked their customer relations manager Mark Phelan to resolve the matter. I hope this doesn’t have to go to court.

I retired and bought a home from avant in moulton northampton.. deeply disappointed.. avant has left this site in a disgusting state. We have no street lighting.we have no ground maintenance. On leaving the development we have to walk a very busy road with no pavement. The local council can't take on responsibility for this development because avant have not fulfilled their obligations . The children's playground is not maintained with bumpy hard ground cheap iquipment that is dangerous. A litter bin filled and overflowing with dog excrement that has been emptied twice in two years.. avant had the opportunity to pass on the maintenence contract to a reputable local contractor but instead have hired cowboy firms who travel four hours to reach northampton. Spend two hours cutting back three foot long grass with strimmer . The whole area is a disgrace.they take your money and run.. and they have the nerve to announce more than a billion pound profit... a have taken numerous photographs. And will be looking for the first newspaper that can print my story. Greedy horrible people. Don't buy from this company.V hillery. Plot nine.

Due to move into our dream home tomorrow but had the rug pulled out from under our feet! In order to secure our reservation Avant offered us £20k incentives, listed as £5k deposit contribution & £15k stamp duty paid. When the Chancellor announced the stamp duty holiday Avant took the view that they should benefit rather than us, the purchaser as the Chancellor intended. We decided we could not continue with the purchase of a house from a company who could treat us with such contempt. Would never look at an Avant home again.

We reserved our home before covid. We were really happy with the house and the plot. We eventually decided to reserve it over other similar properties as Avant offered a deposit incentive of 15k and processed this on their paperwork as stamp duty paid. A really great incentive to purchase from them over other developers. However after the Chancellor introduced SD holiday to benefit house purchaser, Avant have decided instead to pocket this money and feathered their own pockets.They have frustrated the reservation agreement of 20k of incentives and have left us and maybe many others to decide there are now better options and not to buy from a developer who would treat their customers this way.It seems that Avant maybe the only builder doing this practice with many others passing the SD benefit on in another way.Shoddy company.

The sales team at klypper village clipstone were brilliant but unfortunately that's where it stops , our " house " is terrible we have so many snags it's a joke some that we picked up at our home demonstration were not done even before we moved in , we are selling up already ( only been in 3 months ) as this no longer feels like a home and we don't want to endure weeks if not months of tradesmen coming in and out the house some people on this estate have been waiting over a year to get things sorted I keep getting the same response from customer service about the covid and people not wanting to in or not returning work blah blah blah but they have a full workforce on site cracking on with finishing other houses to sell

Back in February this year I looked at purchasing an Avant home in Dunfermline (plot 21 Pitdinnie Grange)I have to say that I was most impressed with the house and decided to buy. As we lived in Cyprus and had a prospective buyer, we paid a £500 deposit. Avant and especially Pam the sales person were most helpful. I have to say that they offered us an incentive to use a solicitor Clarkboyle based in Glasgow who in my opinion were useless and the partners did not seem to communicate with each other (Sent missives to my Son instead of me, sent emails meant for me to someone unknown). I would never use them again.Because of the Coronavirus and the lockdown in Cyprus, my buyers pulled out and I had to cancel the purchase I claimed force majority as it was no fault of ours. avant still saw fit to take £100 from the deposit which,under the circumstances is very unfortunate.I now notice on their website that plot 21 is being re advertised for sale at an increased price of £12000 more than we were buying it for,very surprising as all tiles and kitchen was already chosen. It is disappointing that a company like Avant chooses to treat their customers like this. I loved the house.

If you buy a home from Avant please make sure you ask about the whole development and get answers from them in writing. A number of us have purchased on phase 1, having been told that phase 2 was a similar Avant development to now find out it never was to be and is in fact to be a large social housing estate. Nothing against social housing but Avant tend to be higher end in terms of new house purchases and there are now a number of houses for sale on our estate and none selling. Do your homework with Avant as they are not always truthful with their answers sadly. Three other developers in the area have delivered on their development plans as per initial plan. I will never buy a new house again and definitely not from Avant which is very sad as their designs are great.

They are also well aware that development schemes can be subject to change. We are therefore confident that no sales executive would offer any assurances about future development phases, particularly concerning land that has not yet been acquired. We promote honesty in all respects and if you consider that the company has provided misleading information, we would be very keen to receive evidence of such an occurrence, so we may investigate it. As you may be aware, the Government is tackling the current housing crisis by encouraging wider participation in the provision of affordable social or shared ownership housing on new development sites. Housing Associations are also being encouraged to invest in new housing stock to increase the availability of good quality affordable homes. This is providing opportunity for those less fortunate who, without such assistance, are simply unable to get onto the property ladder or access suitable family accommodation. That said, the development on the land you are referring to is not within our control as we do not own it, and thus unfortunately are unable to comment on any future plans the landowner may have for it.Many thanksAvant Homes

Due to covid19 it was a rush to get us completed but we got the keys just as lockdown was announced. Difficult times for everyone. We have just bought a new Avant home at Ten Locks Market Harborough. The sales advisor Amy was brilliant. She helped chase our buyers solicitors as our sale was taking a long time with no answers and kept us informed of the progress with weekly calls. Even though Covid halted proceedings suddenly, the transition to working from home was seem less and Amy’s service carried on. Although the house has some teething problems Avant are doing all they can to get things put right. We love our house and the spec is a lot higher than with other builders.

Had our home for 3 years now we had a lot of snags we got everything done. But 1 snag had to be done 3 times it was the seal on the bath it has come back again it is only at the shower end the mould is coming back this should not happen in a new build. It has got worse I sure they cannot of use the right seal. And the paint on the front door has starting to peel off again we had this done last year.
