Facebook8 years ago I "rented" a property from Aled Ellis which turned out to be an illegal HMO (they made 1 tenant sign the contract on behalf of the 4 occupants and it had no HMO checks or status in place) - the property was unsafe (wires hanging out of the walls in the bathroom and other rooms, unfinished patio, unfinished electrics etc). I brought this up on their Facebook in 2017 and promptly got a message threatening me with their solicitors. I'm still waiting for that solicitor call 3 years on.... It appears they've now stopped doing lettings, which is probably for the best, and have recreated their social media to reset their reviews however this unprofessionalism of throwing solicitor threats around doesn't go unnoticed. Screenshot of chat will be in comments

GoogleTerrible lettings agents. Moved us into a place where the cable for the internet was broken and would need an engineer to fix it but lied to us and said there was internet. Made doing university work very difficult. Also there was no hot water, the windows were all single glazed and cracked and the window in the kitchen did not shut fully leaving a huge gap. Attempted to contact them but we were ignored. They also told us the landlord did not want to fix the windows as it was too expensive but we then found out they had not even mentioned this to the landlord they had instead lied to us so they did not have to deal with this. The doors to the rooms also did not shut and the floor boards under the carpet were rotting away. They did not want to know and ignored our phone calls, texts and emails and were never in the office when we went by.

GoogleWe recently purchased our new home through Aled Ellis. The day of viewing was exceptional and our estate agent, Michelle, was very knowledgeable of the property and made the experience all the better. Since having our offer accepted, we were taken care of very well, with our best interests in mind, always responding to calls and emails and calls. We would happily use this estate agent again.

FacebookWe would highly recommend Aled Ellis estate agents. All the staff are lovely and extremely helpful. Our sale fell through due to circumstances out of everyone’s control and Michelle got straight back on to the sale and we sold the house again within a week. We really can’t fault them. Excellent service and competitive fees. L and C Rennie

GoogleAled, Eira and Michelle recently assisted us in buying a property. Throughout the whole process they were all so helpful, informative and supportive during the purchase process. They also recommended a broker and other trades people for when we need in the future and I wouldn't ever hesitate in using them to buy or sell properties in the future. Can't thank them enough.

GoogleTerrible landlords, terrible staff too. Nothing gets done on time and if something was wrong and we rung up, they promised a date, and never happened. Painter and decorators walked straight into the flat whilst I was sleeping and so did their staff to check about the fire alarms. (which never got done) Disgraceful and dishonest company. Do not rent from Aled Ellis Aberystwyth.
