Have been working with Stirling Ackroyd for 3 years now in the same flat. The renewals are easy and Abby is always willing to help. They answer your queries quickly and are patient with you if you need additional information or have questions. I would definitely work with them again if I were to move flats.

Absolute scammers! The original name of the company was Townedns ( check their reviews in Trust pilot) and because the have totally lost their reputation they decided to change the name to Stirling Ackroyd! Lied from the very beginning of the contract. When it came to maintenance it was absolute nightmare. We have been waiting for fridge replacement 6 months and at the we got ew fridge that was half of the original fridge size. We have been fighting for 1 year, 1 year, can you imagine , to get 1 sqm of shower ceiling that was moulded to be decorated, silicon, also moulded to be changed, they have sent 4 different people to finish the job alm of the absolutely out of the depth. 4 people to finish job for one for not more than a day. It turned out that they have charged the Landlord thousands for that , can you imagine! I would never ever recommend such a scammer even to my biggest enemy!

TrustpilotI strongly recommend against entrusting SA with your rental property
I strongly recommend against entrusting Stirling Ackroyd (prev Townends)with the management of your rental property. Their staff are poorly trained, inexperienced and lack a professional approach. They simply act as a postbox between landlord, tenant and contractors without any of the management you pay heavily for. Their contractors are overpriced and distance themselves from any accountability to you as the landlord.I was stuck with this shocking level of service for 3 years.Please think again and consider a small local agent whose staff cannot disappear within a large organisation.

I had a tenant who stopped paying over 5 months ago. Lettings Team could not get hold of the tenant as she was in USA did not respond to emails or mobile messages. After 2 months of rental arrears a section 8 was about to be served by Stirling Ackroyd as a Full Management Client which after review by my solicitor, it contained errors so another one had to be served a month later. I requested on numerous occasions to view the property again the tenant did not respond. Stirling Ackroyd had to be emailed, called on several occasions and I had to visit the branch to escalate the viewing request.I have had to deal with 5 people at Stirling Ackroyd on serving of notice, viewing request, tenancy arrears and lettings over the past 4 months .The tenant finally responded a few weeks ago on the request to view the property. On visiting it looked as if she had left.Last week I asked if Stirling Ackroyd could confirm if the tenant has moved out. I am still awaiting a response back if the tenant has moved out. I raised a complaint over 4 weeks it is still not resolved due to Lettings Team and Tenancy Teams been on holiday at Stirling Ackroyd.

We've been renting through Stirling Ackroyd since 2014 and the overall experience wasn't the greatest but eventually, they helped with all problems we have had with our flat. However, we moved out of the property exactly 1 month ago and they still owe us over £600 which is an amount equal to what we overpaid for our last month in the flat! Our property manager promised us to receive this within 3-5 working days and even though I've called them numerous times, they always say someone will get in touch but they never will. They hold our money and there's literally nothing we can do about it. Think twice before using them as when a problem arises, they will simply ignore you!

Ashley-Jane at Stirling Ackroyd was exceptional during my flat purchase. She was incredibly knowledgable, compassionate and patient throughout, even when it seemed the sale had fallen through, she was as committed and available as when it was in process. I genuinely think that without someone as trustworthy, empathetic and experienced as Ashley, the sale would not have recovered and completed. She was able to bring creative solutions, keep morale up and foster an attitude of trust and compassion during a stressful time. Can’t recommend enough! Compared to other places where basic errors are made (e.g., the wrong property address is entered…) and communication is poor, this was a total gold standard service. I genuinely recommend registering with Stirling Ackroyd. My inbox is full of emails advertising ‘properties that might be of interest’ containing properties the polar opposite of what I’m looking for. When Ashley-Jane showed me places, I loved them, made offers, and bought one!
