In the past few years I have received very good customer service from Stirling Ackroyd (previously Harrisons) especially from Rebecca Heslam. Rebecca has gone out of her way to problem solve and to help me as a Landlord. Rebecca is extremely reliable and excellent as a communicator. My experience has been a very good one and I would recommend Stirling Ackroyd without hesitation.

Had an great experience with Chelsea from the Mitcham branch. I enquired about renting as I have never rented before so wanted some information. Chelsea was happy to help and explained everything from affordability, how to put forward an offer, referencing and deposits. I feel a lot more confident now about finding my new home. We have just exchanged on a house because of the hard work and dedication of Kevin and the team. He has been persistent with some difficult solicitors, always been calm and reassuring throughout the stressful process and has kept all parties in the loop the whole time. He's always easy to get hold of and always professional. Couldn't have asked for a better estate agent.

Do not go with this company.I don’t usually complain but this review is needed - We were tenants who moved out early September, it took 6 weeks to get our deposit back, We were ignored constantly and calls/emails were never answered. Then we learnt they charged us for a “faulty blind charge”, it took another 3 weeks of us arguing to get it back. Unfortunately throughout the full year the agency were the heights of unprofessional, we learnt after several flat visits for a new tenancy, a visit happened without our consent while we were both at work. What’s worse when we complained we got no apology in return except excuses and blaming us. Save yourself the stress - the east london office is a disaster from management down.

We always hope deposits can be promptly returned to tenants however, if a landlord wishes to make any deductions this can add time to the deposit return process although, we would expect you to have been kept updated at all times. I was introduced to Stirling Ackroyd through my tenant when trying to sell one of my properties. I spoke with Alex who helped me register with Stirling Ackroyd, and with getting the house on the market quickly. Alex was a great help, really eager to assist me and nice and friendly to talk too. I used Stirling Ackroyd Canary Wharf office, their staff were very professional in particular Jacqueline B (Move In Manager) was understanding of my circumstances as a first time renter. She kept me informed of the process and comms with the landlord. I particularly liked the online portal; everything is in one place. It was easy for my manager to complete the work references online.

My agent Carl Griffiths has been majorly helpful in helping rent my first flat. Was punctual at the viewing and was efficient in explaining the next steps to accquiring a tenancy. He was also extremely helpful with handling the slight change in requirements and delivering on this. The whole process was handled smoothly with timely responses. Was a very pleasant experience compared to many other estate agents that I’ve dealt with prior to Stirling Ackroyd.

FacebookPlease... do not put yourself at risk by using these people. They had no idea about the property condition until 5days before moving in date, despite indicating otherwise The "virtual viewing" video they sent to me, was not filmed by them and did not represent the issues with the property They "arranged" an in-person viewing a week in advance... well a week in advance with me, they apparently didn't call the tenant until that day and he understandably blew them off. They wanted me to drop 6months upfront rent because I wasn't moving out of my current property before moving into theirs... something I am very grateful for now. When they finally checked the property, they said it was uninhabitable, that issues had been outstanding for months but they would be sure to "raise the issues with the landlord"...
Quick follow up The likes of sites like Rightmove have made many of us focus on the properties we like and ignore the quality of the agencies promoting them. Don't be me folks! Check potential agency ratings, do your research and you will safeguard yourself against the issues I detailed above. . Just completed my own move (this time with a trusted agency as far removed from Sterling as possible) and all went well.
