We've had a mixed experience of Strakers. We have both rented and bought a property from them in the last couple of years and you never quite know what you're going to get, some have been lovely, really personable and genuine whilst others have been quite rude and standoff-ish.Having read a little about cleaning charges with Strakers, we understand as landlords ourselves that properties need to be vacated in a clean condition but charging us cleaning fees for cleaning behind radiators seemed a bit ridiculous.Whilst we were buying a property with them recently, the agent showing us round didn’t have any more knowledge about the houses than was written on the website. We were looking at old properties at the end of the day so it’s useful to know, how old is the boiler, has it been serviced, have the electrics had any work recently etc. They didn’t have keys for any of the outbuildings and when given questions to ask the sellers, we received no response from them. As much as I would like to say their efficiency made up for some of the personality traits, unfortunately it didn’t and imagine I’d be pretty disappointed if I was the seller leaving them in charge and paying for their services.

Excellent service from the Auction team at Strakers. After two sales falling through with a different agent we decided to go to auction. Everything efficient dealt with by Charlie and his team, took all the stress out of selling and a great result at the auction. Completed in 3 weeks. Highly recommended.

Strakers are an excellent firm. I have dealt with them in both buying and letting my property and they have always been most helpful. In particular, Bridget Wayman who is quite simply wonderful! Bridget is resourceful, informative,knowledgeable and a thorough delight to work with. It is immensely reassuring to know that the tenant and the property are being looked after by such a capable, professional person.

Strakers are rated as best and quickest agency for sales. I needed quick sale as relocating and they got me an offer within 4 weeks of viewings . Everything went smoothly and I chose a local solicitor recommended by Strakers which ensured the whole process was completed within 10 weeks. Staff are great - I cannot rate them higher. Would definitely recommend Strakers .

Strakers were instructed by solicitors (as Executors) to sell my mothers house on her demise. This has been a very upsetting and stressful situation in more ways than one. I had to 'argue' at the outset about not wanting a for sale sign at the property (which is directly opposite my home). Upon selling the property they tried to put a sold sign up. I had to remind them of my wish not to advertise my mother's death. The new owners have now moved in and Strakers have put up a sold sign! Unbelievable!

No matter what issue we have, we know we can always contact them and it will be quickly resolved. TrustpilotTerrible if you are a buyer
Strakers are an estate agent and have a job to do. Ultimately they are working for their client. However as a buyer the experience is terrible. Strakers advertise property with the line of "guide price" or "offers in excess of" which turns out is just to get people through the door ( that's what the seller told me) but the actual price will be much higher. This according to other sources is quite poor practice so be warned. During the buying process you are allocated someone to help through the purchase. We found these people rude and underhanded. Despite advising them of the status of our own sale, they clearly didn't believe us and started phoning our estate agent & solicitor trying to get information to corroborate what we had told them. This was whilst our sale going smoothly whilst they still hadn't gotten answers to a number of questions which was the only thing delaying the sale. When we eventually got the keys it turned out there was a number of things the seller had told them to advise us but they failed to pass on the message. Fortunately it is unlikely I will move for a long time, but this is a warning to use them at your own risk.

We can't recommend the North Swindon office enough. Paul, Jane, Nick and Sharon were a real help and very supportive through our long sale. Sharon from the Progression team gave us regular updates and kept on top of our solicitors and our sellers to get our sale through. I would not hesitate to recommend them for anyone who is buying or selling.
